So no direct out of the isolated kick unless you lose stereo processing? I don't think they thought that through very well. Should have added one more switched jack that removes the kick from the main out. Seems simple enough. As is you are forced to use mono mode if you just want to record or process the kick separately, and who doesn't process the kick separately?
Nice review. Sidechain is definitely neglected by some companies making groove boxes and the like but for me it is essential. Nice to have it all in one unit with the kick and sidechain and then combined with a house chord from the Polycinematic is quite nice.
That could have been a better review if you dedicated more screen time to demo the chord triggering by the Poly Cinematic. That's the actual key feature of the module, how it's supposed to be used in a modular setups and it's an original solution compared to other Eurorack voice modules. But you just talked it through in 1.5 minute like it goes without saying.
Why has the meaning of modular changed? They're still modules. Analog or digital. They never used to be digital because tech wasn't there or there was no market. They're still modular! 🙂
For me, I don't think I have ever considered if a module is digital or analog but by the capabilities and functionality. It makes zero difference to see if they are analog or digital. Perhaps modular has moved away from its original analog roots - you have a point there, but so has most areas of music production over time.
thanks matt its always great to have these demos played in a musical context
No worries Ben. That’s always my approach 👍🏻

Great Job Matt. Really im depth and you really show what a small case can do here. Good stuff!
i am after the poly cinematic for while. its gonna be be the next module in my rack!!
It sounds great - really great simple polyphony 👍🏻
very interesting module - thanks
Thanks Matt - great reviews! Please stop costing me even more money!
Haha. Sorry about that 😆🤷🏻♂️
Modules are pretty much, but when we just could see promised hardware synths, like Korg Drumlogue, Wavestate Se and other companies? 🙏🤔🇪🇪
when was the last time you polished your shoes?
I remember when modular synthesis was all analog. Digital wasn't modular and modular wasn't digital. The meaning of 'modular' has changed.

Either way it is still a money pit.😵💫
@@Heathcliff_hensel yep! Although I spent about £3000 over 2-3 years and haven't bought anything else now for over a year.. I've behaved!
