When I met my husband he had another line which was “pass that penny to a friend and then your luck will never end.” I love it!! 💖
I just love how excited you are when you speak about your plants🤩
I love the bird door pulls. They really update the whole bathroom. Hubby won't even notice them in a month. At least that's what happens with my husband and sons. 😂
Joann that’s what I’m thinking. He will forgot they are even there 😂
My condolences to your husband on the loss of his father. I love the new bird knobs in your bathroom. Have a wonderful week Jodi 😊!
I'm not a plant or outdoor person...but I sure do enjoy your company! It is a real pleasure to be able to "visit" with you. 😃
Hey Jodi! yeah to bonus video!!! 👍
Those bird handles made such a huge difference! They also look great with the wall color.
I bet your father-in-law is looking down approvingly as you clean up that plant he cherished 💓
Those birds are dang cute! Having a different green compliments your walls.
You remind me of my mom with plants she could grow anything I remember 1 time when we moved we moved 50 plants. She passed away 26 years ago and now 1 of her granddaughters can grow anything she touches witch makes my heart happy so much to see it❤ wish I could
Melissa what a beautiful compliment! Thank you. Awe I love that your granddaughter has a love of growing things. I bet that feels very special to you ❤️
Love the prayer plants ❤
That minty green color on your bathroom walls is SO pretty! 😍 Love it so much!
Peace and love to your husband and the family.
Love the birds! Lol. And they arent an exact match with the walls, but being a bit darker makes them pop.
Sorry about your families loss. Love the bird drawer pulls. Thanks for the bonus this week❤
I think the birds look great on your vanity
I'm sorry to hear about your father in law 😔 ❤. Love all your plants Jodi 🪴 ❤️ 😊
Plants Looking great Jodi😊
Beautiful plants!!💜💟💚☘️🍀🌿💐🌸🪷🍃🍂
Hi Jodi. Love to see your plant collection. What a treat.
The bird handles are awesome in your bathroom. I hope you keep them.
Keep up the good work. God bless.
Jodi, when you did a close up of the plant that is struggling, a gnat flew from it. You may want to keep an eye out to make sure that there aren't any around your plants.
I keep a peace Lilly in a bathroom. It's the happiest since I bought it. Right now I'm just trying to keep plants alive, inside and out. I'm in Georgia, and this heat gets the best of things. I think we've skipped the 80's, gone directly into the 90's for summer.
LOL , that penny! everytime I see it I hear you and your hubby say "I love your to" , it must make you smile....lol
Apparently, peace lilies are a common option for funerals. My dad just passed away in June and there were 2 peace lily plants, the same size as the one you have, from 2 different families. I killed the only peace lily I've ever had, so I sent 1 home with my cousin, to give to his mom (my aunt) and I sent the other with my son, because I have an amazing daughter in law who has at least 2 green thumbs going for her. I think it meant a lot to her, as she was unable to come to the service, due to health issues. They are beautiful and I think the ones we had have gone to 2 good homes. I wish you luck with the one from your mother in laws funeral. Your father in law must have a green thumb he was unaware of.
I have a black thumb, but the peace lily from when my dad died lived for many, many years. Thankfully, they are pretty easy to keep alive! I just sent one to a friend recently when her dad passed as well. Sorry for the loss of your dad
Hi Jodi, Thanks for the bonus video! I love it when you talk about your plants & show how they're doing! You become quite the gardener! I love all your plants. I love all those prayer plants! The spider plants are neat, too, I have one, but it's struggling! I also have a shamrock & it's fine! But I would like to get some more plants! Your bathroom looks great! Your plants are going to love it in there! The steam from the shower is good for them! I'm glad you got the peace lily thinned out. It looks much better. I have a snake plant. I've had for over 25yrs ago. My client, I was a hairstylist, brought it to me in a jar in some water when I first started to work at JC Pennys I have had to change her pot twice in bigger ones. She's got several dried up leaves I need to cut. But it keeps giving me new leaves as tall as me & I'm 6ft, so they stay up tall & then they start to droop. So I have plastic zip ties around them for support! Thanks so much for this special video! From Eastern Washington, it's been over 100° the past 2 couple weeks, so we've been staying inside! Love & Hugs! ♥️☺️🦋🫂🐾🧵🪡🧶🍄📓🌹✨️
Hi Shara 🤗
Wow that’s a huge snake plant! I don’t think I’ve ever seen one that big. Whatever you are doing it loves you 😍
Oh wow that’s hot! Yes stay inside and stay cool. Have a great weekend ❤️
You should probably be able to use a washer or two on the back of the door to tighten the knobs up. 😊
Yay a bonus video😊
@@jodidunnmymessylife1847 Jodi just love your channel love when Tuesday comes around. You have the best laugh xx
Loving all the plants. I propagate alllll of my plants so I have some how ended up with over 100 houseplants (most are very small), but I have started feeling so overwhelmed. I’ve been trying to sell some and give some as gifts but I still have way too many
Hey Jodi! I want more house plants. All I have are a few succulents. I read that you should have at least one plant per room or something g like that. It helps air quality in the house.
Currently I am decluttering my craft room/office for the summer. My project for the summer.
I Googled it!
NASA recommends one plant every 100 square feet - which is about 9.2 square metres. In a home of about 1800 square feet in size (roughly 167 square metres), NASA recommends 15-18 houseplants.
That means I would need 32 house plants 🙀
Hi, I had the same problem and used a spacer washer on the back of drawer with the screw. X
Ive heard you can just refill the hose end sprayer things with vinegar to wash the windows if it reaches okay and it does better. Normal vinegar, not the 30% vinegar they've come out with that works on weeds.
We are remodeling our bedroom. We ripped up the 80’s mauve carpet (hardwood floors underneath). Well the 60’s floor wasn’t in very good shape! We found a laminate that is pretty close to the color and style of the hardwood. That is this weekend’s project!
Didn't know the saying that went with the pennies. Lol. If I find one tail side up I keep them touching the ground and flip it. That way it is heads up for the next person or myself when I happen across it again.
I love bonus videos! It’s always awesome to see you! It’s finally summer here so I can get to water aerobics in the morning and then float on the lazy river after! It’s a great time with my friend! As far as my garden goes the deer have destroyed my flowers this year 😢. I do have some mini peppers on my deck and they have been fine so far. So p
Thoughts and prayers to you and your family on the loss of your hubs dad. It is so hard to lose a loved one. Love the knobs! Have a great weekend!
I’m so very sorry for your loss. The plant looks amazing.
The bathroom knobs are adorable. For the cabnit ones a small metal washer inside the cabnit between the screw and door would help tighten the knobs. Easy to find at any hardware store.
Maybe an extra washer behind the screw will tighten the draw pulls.
I have a tradascantia bubblegum plant. They're definitely beautiful. I looked up pictures of Calathea and it looks like the Burle Marx to me but I'm not great with house plants since I've not had many of them at this point.
Jodi love the indoor plants...pretty soon you're going to have to play marco polo with the hubster to find each other. Love that you shared an extra video with us. Thank you and God bless you.
Add 3 table spoons of cayenne pepper or 1 or 2 tablespoons of hot sauce per 1 pound of seed to make it spicy bird seed.
wow you sure opened my eyes to plant's this morning , i always thought there was only one pray plant thanks . now on your one that is having a problem maybe its praying to much ,Just kidding . stay sweet love your channel ..
Hello Jodi! Thanks for the video. I just sat down for lunch and it is great to see you! Have a nice weekend!
Ok here’s what you do on your bird pulls: you put a washer behind the door/drawer over the screw. That will help significantly. Also you can put a drop of crazy glue or E6000 inside the knob hole and it will stay upright and no wonky birds! They’re beautiful. They almost look jade. Pretty!!
By the way you don’t really thin out or cut leaves out of peace Lillie’s. That is how they grow. They also like to be cramped and root bound so really wait a long time on repotting them. If they are putting up flowers they are VERY happy. They don’t like sun on them. Just indirect light. Mine is humongous in 3 years time since my Dads funeral it has tripled and it sits in my North window in Iowa with very cold wind and horrible weather right outside this huge window and it’s shaded by my overhang on my bay window. It loves its spot. I had it in a south window and all the leaf tips got dry and brown. They are known in the plant world as drama queens. They get completely droopy and look almost dead they are so wilty. You water them about once a week or every two weeks when the leaves hang down a bit. Never water on top the leaves. Only at the soil line under the leaves. If they look completely absolutely dead and totally wilty after you water them within the hour they will look like new again. They are very tough and versatile. Thats why they’re called drama queens. lol. PS: almost always in the plant world the lighter color the leaves the more sun they like, the darker the leaves the more indirect/ shade they like. Our cats do not ever eat or bother our peace lily. Animals do know and have instinct and smell to leave poisonous plants alone. Generally that refers to more baby animals as they enjoy chewing/playing with them. Some adult animals, are chewers. If your cat isn’t a chewer you don’t have anything to worry about with Tom. ❤🪴
I absolutely love the bird hardware. Are pathos plants like vine type plants??? I’ve had a philodendron in the past…I think they are similar.
Thank you. Yes I believe pothos have similar growth patterns to the philodendron, but I’ve just got my first philodendron. Pothos will trail down or if you give them support they will grow up. Very easy to care for and such beautiful plants ❤️
Thanks for a great vod love all your plant babies. You should check out Sheffield made plants I watch him and he has great plant advice.
Happy Friday, Jodie!
I never heard that saying about a penny. If we saw a penny on the ground we were told, it's a penny from heaven, so we pick them up whether they're face or tails up. 😊
Beautiful peace lily, Wow! What a great plant collection you have.
It's 117 ° to 120 degrees here in Southern Nevada. 🔥🌞🥵 Plants are burning up. 😢 I'm so looking forward to October.
Did you know that Tradescantia comes in pink? And it's gorgeous. On my shopping list for next week. Glad the thrips are gone. That was scary!
Yes I saw that when I starting looking up tradescantia and of course I want the pink one too 😂
Add a washer to the screw inside the door to tighten
Hi 👋 Jodi! Sent you email about the broken caladium stems.
Watched while eating my lunch as today I'm doing the last of my Shabbat prep. Lol😊. I had 4 chicken wings with my home fermented hot sauce ( so good!), a sliced fresh peach ( gifted 8 today and this one was begging to be eaten before it went bad-- oh my yum!) and popcorn from kernels ( I pop in microwave and then melt real butter with salt and pour over & stir in)!!! 😋 Yummy 😋! Oh and my rooibos tea ( chilled- no sweetener by choice).
Last batch of laundry in dryer. Open kettled dill crunchy pickles ( small batch) labeled & put on shelf. Extra brine reserved for next pickles I hope to get Wednesday at the farmers market ( so I can enjoy all winter!).
Full on rain day today and most of tomorrow...we need it so it's a good thing!
Ok. Your bird pulls are beautiful! And yes, they go well with your bathroom, as does all the new plant dwellers.
Window...too bad your power washer doesn't reach to the roof...that would help a lot!
Peace Lily....wow. amazing difference. ( I don't think Thomas will bother the peace Lily. My daughter has a Maine coon that doesn't touch it. She put it on top of a book case. On top of your desk in that front room where your "office" is should be fine.
Your hubs is noticing your plants more because they mean something TO YOU ❣️. I noticed he's spending more time with you. Now that his parents are both gone, I think he's realized how much he just likes doing stuff with you, whatever it's. Plus, your enthusiasm is catching and the beauty is making a big difference.
All those plants in the house also help produce more oxygen and help with mood and health.
The girls have noticed how much nicer it is to be able to see &find the clothes they like to wear and how much better it feels to know someone else might really like what they don't!! You taught them that, Momma.
Cong🎉ratulations!
Your donation shop personnel will be in shock to see you again!😅
Enjoy your day. Time to fold my laundry. Lol😂
Hi Edie 🤗
You are getting all the things done 😍
On top of my desk is a great idea! I’m going to try that spot. Yes I think Tom will leave it alone too ❤️
Yes it’s so much nicer when your drawers and closets aren’t filled to the brim with old stuff. Just so proud I don’t even have to ask then now, they just do.
I’ll go look for your email
this peace lilly is soo pretty i have one and they love shade and watering it every other day!!!! i live in key west florida. so i keep my outside in a full shade!! you look amazing and i love the new bird handles!! your plant looks so good!!
Thank you for sharing a bonus video this week! A HOT- H🥵T day here in SDak, staying indoors. 🤗
I took out my stopper and put in a sink strainer. It’s a smaller version on one you use in the kitchen sink.
My cats even bite at the leaves of my peace lily and they are fine. Mine doesnt look nearly as nice, but is doing just fine with a few leaves worse for the wear from teeth and claws.
JODI I AM JUST GOING TO MOVE 😂
I CANNOT
Hi, we call Pink Splash Freckle Face, unfortunately in Australia if put in gardens it can grow out of control and is considered in some states a weed or pest. But I love the look of them. Your plants are amazing you are doing so well with them, I love the way you talk to them, I can't grow a indoor plant at all, outdoor plants, hanging baskets and our gardens are all fine, lol. I think too much water is the problem with the indoor ones.
Hi Mary 🤗
I’ve heard they can be quite invasive in the wild. So sad because they are beautiful plants. Looking forward to freckle face getting bigger and bigger ❤️
Have you ever been to Carlson’s Greenhouse? They have a good sized houseplant section. It’s on Torrey Rd. , just south of Baldwin Rd.
Where did you get your toilet paper holder? Thats what I need in our hall bathroom 😊
Honestly Jodi I have gotten rid of so much stuff, yard sale, Salvation Army and more yard sale but there is so much more but it’s so much better than what it was. After my divorce and the pandemic I thought I had to hold on to everything that I got. But I don’t.
Yay Shirley that’s so exciting. It does feel so much better getting rid of things you don’t need/use ❤️
Your funny woman😂 I better get up and clean my bathroom I have a small bathroom too
I pick up ANY penny or coin I see on the ground. These days every cent helps. Lolol
I’m just staying inside as much as possible as we’ve had temperatures over 100 for almost two weeks. Today is supposed to be 114. I live north of Sacramento California.
Im sorry to hear about the passing of your in-laws. Im sure it has not been easy fro eitehr one of you or the girls. God Bless you all.
Use a thin round metal with a hole to screw the bird tighter on the inside of the door. I dont know the english word for it, and when I tried to translate it became out so weird. "tray set" I dont think is the right word. I hope you can understad what I try to say :)
You can take in the peace lily in and no I dont think your cat will eat it. If he does he will be fine. My cats eats them and will vomited right away. If he starts to eat your plants, take a pot with soil and put som popcorn kernels i it and soil on top. Sunny window for few days and you have popcorn grass. ( you can do it outside also for decorations) My cats love it and stay away from my plants ;)
I pick up pennies heads up tales up it don’t matter superstitious well one day I wanted ice cream and I didn’t get it. Maybe that was the bad luck. 😂
So pretty
Superstitious? Not me. My husband and I got married on Friday the 13th 1984. 40 years today!
i WAS GOING to say jodi when i see a coins on tails anywhere in the world i turn them over so that someone else gets it and hope that it brings them luck.
Hello
Thanks Jodi. Those birds are so cute in the bathroom. Your plants looks gorgeous. What did you use for the pest on your plants? Im learning about plants too and need to get more. I feel like i have a brown tumb.🥲 Do you feed them anything special? I gave my plants, plant food and seems to be doing worse. I havent gave them that again. Thanks for you video and have a blessed day.
Some plants do well with potato or rice rinse water ( not if it has salt & pepper or oils) once a month or a packet of knox gelatine ( unflavored) per gallon of room temp water. ( Obviously, don't give all that at once but use that as your water for that watering). General rule of thumb with MOST plants is to only water when your finger tucked into the pot is dry past the first knuckle joint. Spiders love to be watered by soaking in a basin or tub of water for at least 30 minutes to an hour when they get that dry. Also, remember to take a damp washcloth ( not wet) and wipe off all leaves at least once a month. Consider it the plants spa day. It helps the plant take in what it needs from available light. Your plants love calming music too. Look up the music of plants in MHz. If you have a copper penny, not a new one one of the real copper ones, and glue it to the top of a chopstick and stick it into the deep part of your pot it's supposed to assist the plant to thrive. Look up "copper garden 'woowoo'". Gardeners are using copper coils which is a take on the copper penny.
Hope your plants thrive.
Hi Bobbie 🤗 it honestly depends. If I have them in soil I rarely fertilize because the soil already has nutrients. Unless it’s older. If they are in a chunky mix I do fertilize regularly depending on which plant it is. But I do a very diluted fertilizer. I think it’s foliage pro but I’d have to look. Over fertilizing cab definitely hurt your plant. The 2 biggest things you should focus on is correct lighting and watering. For instance my prayer plants do not like bright light. They are about 8-10 feet from a big window.
Those bird knobs are precious.❤
