    The brakes on the Widefox were adequate for cruising around, but I knew they wouldn't be very good for autocross or any type of spirited driving. I did some research on how to upgrade the brakes, and also talked with Maximum Motorsports on the best option if I wanted to compete at a high level such Good Guys Pro category, the Optima Ultimate Street Car series, etc. Their suggestion was to go with the Ford Performance 13" Brembo kit (part number M-2300-X) that would go directly on the car without modifications. I also looked into the 94-04 Ford Mustang Cobra brakes and the Cadillac ATS Brembo calipers that require a little spindle modification to fit properly. This video covers the complete unboxing and installation of the kit and the logic of why I didn't choose the Cobra or ATS brakes over the more expensive Brembo kit.

      Next week's video shows a little frustration with another project. At this point the car is almost ready to go to meet my April 1st goal, but nothing is happening. We're just putting in extra hours around the property.

      @@jimsgardensandrabbitry We're doing just fine. Oregon isn't far behind California on doing a complete state-wide lockdown beyond essential necessities. It took us a good week to get the farm ready for 30 days at home without going out. We're moving goats around this weekend, and had to help dig up Nikki's parent septic lines today for a repair. We're ahead of schedule on projects, but not doing a lot of filming on anything right now. Just putting our heads down and working. Just send us an email, and we'll offer help as we can.

    Hello, can I ask you an info about that Brembo M-2300-X kit? How deep is the caliper from the top (near the rims) and the finish front end near the rotors? I would link to know how deep it is the caliper to understand how many spaces I need for my wheels! Thank you! Stefano

    • @BasinMotorsports
      @BasinMotorsports  2 роки тому

      I had about 8-10mm if I remember correctly. I had about 3mm from the face of caliper to the spokes on the wheel. That was my biggest issue beyond the brake line clearing the tire.

  • @TravisMorgan-hq9tl
    @TravisMorgan-hq9tl Рік тому

    Thank you for sharing. Are you using a SN95 spindle and hub to do the Brembo conversion? Just curious what other parts I'll need for a stock foxbody.

    • @BasinMotorsports
      @BasinMotorsports  Рік тому +1

      I had a stock K-member on the car, so it used '94/'95 SN95 spindles and hubs. You'll need conversion fittings for the brake lines also if you haven't done that yet. You will also want SN95 lower ball joints or spacers to make the spindles attach correctly.

      @@BasinMotorsports Thank you. Thats very helpful. I definitely want to use the Brembo's for the front. One more question for you. I'm also wanting to do the rear cobra disk brake conversion at the same time. What master cylinder would you recommend for this setup? Aside from the parts you mentioned above for the front is there anything else you think I'll be needing?

    • @BasinMotorsports
      @BasinMotorsports  Рік тому +1

      I would guess on the 94/95 Cobra master cylinder as it was what I used on mine. I had SN95 GT calipers on the green car. You may want to double check the correct M/C to use with Jack at Maximum Motorsports. He helped with all my component selection based on what I wanted with the car (widebody, etc.).
      You can decide on running a proportioning valve for the rear. I never got around to it, and it drove fine. If you want the optimum feeling, add one at some point.

    • @BasinMotorsports
      @BasinMotorsports  2 роки тому

      Not for the Brembos specifically. I had already added a 94/95 M/C when I did the 5-lug swap. It was good for the Brembo BBK also.

    • @BasinMotorsports
      @BasinMotorsports  4 роки тому +2

      I looked via Google and can't find an exact part number for them. A couple different forums indicate you can use the same lines for the standard SN95 caliper swap. I know Maximum Motorsports, LMR, etc. has them. Fox Speed Division is also doing the swap current and does sell parts. He is on Facebook and has a website.

    Hey man great video, I have one question, do brembo brakes work in the classic? I have a Ford Torino GT 71

    • @BasinMotorsports
      @BasinMotorsports  10 місяців тому +1

      They should assuming you have the correct attaching points. These were specific for the SN95 Mustangs, and you may need to make a bracket to adapt them to the Torino spindle. The Cadillac ATS calipers need a little extra work to fit, and are way cheaper than this kit.

    • @summer_stormtrooper
