ARMY did not literally get him this position, it was KR govt & Olympics committee, I think; but he wanted to thank ARMY for giving him support & fame enough to have it happen! 💜
I watched him receiving the flame til when he lit the next person's torch. I was so proud of him! Like he was my own son! (I often call BTS "my seven Korean sons.") One of the best parts was after he was done & Super Tuna was playing & of course ARMY was singing & dancing & Jin was laughing. Oh Jin, you will never be able to escape Super Tuna, lol! All of the beautiful songs Jin has performed & Super Tuna follows him around even in a Paris ceremony! 😂 It reminds me of that VERY old Saturday Night Live skit where a shark keeps ringing the doorbell, saying, "Candygram" to trick people into opening the door! No escaping the Super Tuna! 😂
@@lavenderbluemama953 I think it would be crazy if some reality show takes him to go catch a real TUNA. Complete the cycle. I would watch that every day. 😄
@@komerican-og Me too! There is a video on Bangtan TV called “Me, Myself, and Jin ‘Sea of JIN island’ Production Film." It shows the making of the song & the fishing! You would love it! We would love watching it with you.
He did seem to have less of that soldier's edge to him. But despite that, he still looked confident, although he said he was quite nervous. To me, he looked as charming as ever.
I doubt it's possible for us to have felt any prouder on that day. Jin stood tall and represented South Korea, himself, BTS and ARMY so well on that day. He looked dignified yet still with that sweet, Jin charm. Poor guy got so shy and blushy when the truck passed by playing Super Tuna and ARMY started singing along with some others who were around. The French personnel there were hyping him and the crowd up on the mic saying this was all for him. You'll probably see it if you look up 'Jin Olympics super tuna' or something like that. You can watch it on your own if you like or react to it, your choice. It's pretty short so idk if you'd want to go through the trouble of filming and everything. It was pretty funny how some of the French reporters didn't realize exactly how popular Jin was in some broadcasts. They seemed so shocked and flustered by all of the support he was getting. They kept talking about how popular he was. There was also an interview he did that day where the French interviewer actually interviewed him in Korean. It was really lovely that they made the effort to make him comfortable in that way. Lol and she gifted him a giant croissant at the end of the interview.
Thanks for posting. You made an excellent point that guys change and have a certain stance & demeanor when they come out of the Korean military after serving. As you said, most of them enlist when they are quite young, so I'm sure it is a huge factor in their maturity. It's likely that Jin doesn't seem that different (and it may be the same with others BTS members) because they were already so disciplined through their hard worked hard, and so polished from life-altering opportunities within their music career. However, I'm sure they will grow in other unique ways & gain new perspectives from their military experience (particularly the younger members).

He looked calm and confident...he's doing his best not to dissapoint anyone..He's the best WWH..
