What’s up family, couple of key points and notes for you here. I watched That Pedal Show review this and was instantly drawn to it, Lee and Pete also said this is one of the best preamps they’ve ever heard so I figured it was worth a try and I can tell you, the rumours were true - It absolutely is!
I programmed in some pretty cool presets, feel free to copy these:
2:50 Is my crunchy rhythm
3:03 is my version of a Klon
3:06 is kinda like an SLO
3:15 is a crunchy/heavy pushed riff monster
3:27 is my lead tone, which is based on the 800 type vibe with a green box in front of it
I’m going into the front of my Victory RD1 into a Bad Cat open back 1x12 cab mic’d with a Sterling Condenser mic.
The preamp MK2 is utterly fantastic, yes it’s definitely expensive and I’m sure you could find something digital like the Kemper that would re-create many of these sounds, but if you’re a traditionalist/audio file you won’t be disappointed.

DUDE! So excited you're finally checking some Chase Bliss out in depth. I've loved Chase Bliss for years and the Preamp mkII is just BANANAS!!! All setting sound rad to me.
Thanks mate, you know that’s a good point… I didn’t really find a bad setting! I think if you added this along with an EQ pedal you could achieve any amp/pedal sound.

For some reason, when you were demonstrating the playback feature (and what you can do with it) of the Mood pedal, I kept expecting Peter Gabriel to start singing a song about unrequited love in the middle of WW3.
Yeah I was feeling that vibe as well… it was very October 39, pre Gabriel/Post Gabriel…

Thats a very solid looking pre-amp pedal. I use an external pre-amp pedal all the time for solo acoustic gigs. I can see it becoming the norm for electric guitar too (outside of modellers and IRS), especially on a fly rig. Sounds excellent too.
Yeah, I kind of see this almost like an analog modular, I managed to replicate a few of my amplifiers with it fairly easily - it became a little bit more complicated, trying to replicate an amp and a pedal, but it’s definitely possible.
The recent 'gear', is just amazing! I remember all I had, other than my guitar, was an AC30 and one of those tiny "Vox" in-line boosters. Great sound until the battery went! LOL!

Dang! That preamp K looks and sounded amazing! I gotta look into that pink pedal too,eeesh! My wallet gonna hate you man lol 😂. I’m actually getting a helix soon, but still like to use pedals, I know…. Some ppl will probably ask, why if you have a helix? But why not, still like messing with pedals, and point is to have fun and get the creative juices flowing.
Yeah man, this is really like an analog version of the amp side of something like a Helix! Super flexible 🤘🏽

Hi man, on that Chris Robertson which R series pickups is it (all the spec listings don't specify) they do unpotted PAF replicas in the R series and more common potted ones. They are both Alnico V over IV or 2 found in other high end PAF reps so I can't tell which ones he has haha.

Hi mate, so it has three banks of 6 so 18 in total. You’d never need more than 5 settings though really… unless you were playing a pit gig at a theatre or something

One look at that pre-amp & you know it’s the total package & priced accordingly. The mood pedal is too much unless you’re an Eno.

It is awesome and unreal fun - you kind of have to look past that and appreciate it purely for the tones though, I’ve had it long enough that the novelty has worn off, but the sound is still unbelievably good
