I'm using the veeam trial. At the bottem left, why don't I see "backup & replication" and "backup infrastructure"? The list starts with virtual machines...
Dear Veeam team. Can help me or guide me to fix this issue, I am getting an error when upgrading Veeam B&R from version 10 to 11. Error Message, “The following SQL database patches are missed: TFS301304StoredProcedures, TFS315405. I have already installed MSSQL 2016 on another server, and integrate with veeam v10 which is working fine. But, now when i am upgrading veeam B&R from v10 to v11, and at the end of the upgradation I am getting above error.
Suppose i have some VM's in a vmware in aserver and i install a second server (windows server) to host Veeam. Can that second server also act as the Backup server???
Hi Greg. As long as the Veeam Server can communicate with the VMware environment, you can use it to perform backups. How the backups will work will depend largely on your environment and how the two servers are connected - this will determine the Transport Mode used for backups. You can read more here: helpcenter.veeam.com/docs/backup/vsphere/transport_modes.html?ver=95u4
Nice Video! Do you have a video on how to upgrade veaam 9.0 to the latest version 9.5? I am currently running 9.0 but I want to upgrade to 9.5 update 3. Also I would like to know what are some the steps that should be done first before doing the upgrade. Right now I have virtual machines that are constantly running backing up every hour. Also is it safe to do the upgrade without stopping the services or services need to be sopped before doing the upgrade. Any help is appreciated.
No video yet, but please have a look at this - www.veeam.com/kb2053 - which contains links to detailed instructions for the various versions. All the latest updates can be found here: www.veeam.com/updates.html. Should you have any issues, please don't hesitate to use our forums (forums.veeam.com/) or open a support case (www.veeam.com/support.html).
So I’m going to install on a windows 2016 host that has hyper v servers, when asked for the veeam server in the case above you put the Vsphere server is that the host?

Thank u for uploading such an informative item. I have something to ask you....., how to use veeam to backup cloud items to our local DC or destination? or in other words, How could veeam be integrated with a any of the Private or Hybrid Cloud and set it as a source of data and save into some other destination and that destination could be our local DC or another CLoud?
Hello. Veeam does have native support for VMware Cloud on AWS, so hypervisor based backups are possible. For AWS EC2 and Azure, we have native Backup Applications for both, which allows for integration into VBR and restore to either on-premises or to other EC2/Azure locations.
For all cloud solutions regardless of our integration, our Veeam Agents for Windows and Linux will be able to protect most machines, and allow for the same flexibility of recovery options. Hope this helps. helpcenter.veeam.com/docs/backup/vsphere/vmware_cloud_aws.html www.veeam.com/aws-backup.html www.veeam.com/backup-azure.html
At 21:00, 'As you can see, catalog replication has completed and database replication is currently in progress" How do you see that? All I see is success. As if it is finished! There is nothing that shows it is in progress.
When, you technically can: kb.vmware.com/kb/1000131. Plus, you can use macOS underneath, installing some level-2 hypervisor ON it, like parallels. Either way, Veeam doesn't support macOS backup, unless it's a VM, hosted on Hyper-V or vSphere ESXi.
If I want to install Veeam on the C: drive, but keep the backup repository or backup destination files on the D: drive, can I do this with just the free version?
IT is stupid to install backup on the server the way he is Installing, What if the Server Crash where you did install on the server or is not accessible ?
Hi Veeam, may I know the pre-requisites for the free/ trail version installation and deployment please.

I'm using the veeam trial. At the bottem left, why don't I see "backup & replication" and "backup infrastructure"? The list starts with virtual machines...
it means that you're having Veeam Backup Free Edition at the moment. Just apply a trial license to it and it'll switch to a trial version. Thanks
Good video about Veeam Backup & Replication but at 0:11 the designation should be "Principal Solutions Architect".
Hi, can we go back to 3 months data if we have lets say ransomeware , can we undo that ? and go back to same settings 4 months ago ?

Are the Enterprise Manager and Consoles needed to backup/manage a very small number of physical machines??
When specifying a "new VMware Server" is that referring to the ESXi host storing the VMs or the VMs themselves?
it's either a vCenter or a standalone ESXi host, not VMs

The progress shows each step and how long it took. As this was in a lab environment, the catalog was quite small so collection was very fast.
Does Veaam work on Mac Sierra servers? we currently have a BackupExec 2012 system which isn't supported.
Possible type, it could be CrapupExec 2012
What kind of platform you have? Physical Macs servers running on macOS, correct?
Yes that's right. I don't think we can virtualise macOS yet... still waiting on that day!

Andrew that's amazing, thank you!
Useful info .thank you

Hi KLM, within Free version, you will have to specify backup destination every time you run the backup task (VeeamZIP), so yes, absolutely possible.
Thanks You!
how do i test to know my back up is functional.?
Aribido, you can utilize SureBackup functionality for that: helpcenter.veeam.com/docs/backup/vsphere/surebackup_recovery_verification.html?ver=95
Pleeeease, can anyone tell me if VEEAM supports tls 1.2 ??
