Excellent play through, John. I'll certainly point people in your direction when they ask for a good video. Two items where the rulebook could use a little more ... specificity. 1. City and Town building - each is separate so technically you would draw a location for each. However, the way you played it is just fine. It makes more of a difference when the bot is set for aggressive expansion. 2. When "Fewest" is drawn for Military it looks at military units. If it about placing a town, it looks at towns.
Thank you very much for the clarification on those rules. I did not realize that you drew for each placement, but that does make sense. I also did not know about the fewest, but that also makes sense as well.
depending on your starting character (in this case you were the Artist), does that influence the way you play? This game is new to me and I was trying to understand if you were making any choices as to which techs you took (or any of your other choices) based off being "the artist"?
Yes it does a little. I don’t think k it pigeon holes you though. With my artist, I was always on the lookout for cultural techs as those would score me points at the end, and it gave me -3 unrest to make tax or tariff not cost me any points for the first one or two. Other powers can be more influential than the Artist.
@@freddiechristian1298 Thanks! I knew this angle was going to be an issue once I started editing the video. Trust me when I say that it was way worse when I inverted it. Not going to happen again!

Very cool. you're making me regret not backing this. My poor wallet.
They are doing another campaign for the expansion. You might be able to back the sphinx edition like I have and not break the bank too bad…
@ 30:00 You're placing Military correctly. HeroBotus places military in the regions that contain its cities.
Thanks!!!
John, what expansion level did you set HeroBotus to?
Aggressive
You filmed it upside down.
Long story, but I hoped to flip it. I did and then the angle was uncomfortable to look at…
@@JohnLaRuffa It's just hard to see how your playing the solo cards and hard to read the cards upside down.
I know. Never again!
@@JohnLaRuffa I do enjoy your solo videos and appreciate your hard work, thanks.
