Goal Setting Classroom Activities

I found that when I spoke with students, the goals they shared were more about avoiding consequences and less about the lives they wanted to live.
This was evident when they would share, "I just want to pass this course."
Others had bigger goals of becoming a veterinarian or living in a condo downtown Toronto. For these students, education wasn't something to "pass," but a meaningful part of their journey of accomplishing bigger goals.
I hope the ideas presented in this video help reinforce, begin, or add goal setting to your classroom and bring greater clarity on the goals your students want to accomplish.

WHO AM I
I'm Randy, a high school teacher in Ontario, Canada. I think it is safe to say I have spent equal time watching videos on UA-cam as I have spent teaching in front of the classroom. I don't know which one gives me more credibility.
