We always eat feast for breakfast here in the Philippines. Coffee and toast is just our snacks after lechon, adobo and bulalo sounds funny buts it's true.hahahahaha.🤪🤪😂😂😂😂
*My husband is a Filipino chef, so I'm used to eating Filipino food (I'm Canadian of Ukrainian descent). But the first time I tried lechon personally prepped by my husband, his brothers, and cousins, I fell in love so hard. With the lechon. And with my husband, all over again.*
Your parents are good food critics , very appreciative & enjoying their stay in the Philippines, you guys are creating family memories to treasure forever!
Some folks don't realize how absolutely skilled one needs to be to roast a really good lechon. It is hard to get it right because the juices within tend to soften the skin. Even more impressive are lechoneros who roast more mature pigs which have naturally thicker skin and thicker layers of fat. They are able to get the skin crispy yet thin. Just incredible.
Lucy's parents are so cool. The mom is gracefully dignified. The dad is very engaging and appreciative and look so much like the action/commedy actor Simon Pegg.
As a brummie who lives in Australia with my filipino wife, it's funny how she loves her full English. Even when my mother in law came over, she fell in love with it, so much so we're going to cook one when we're in cebu at christmas.
Koda one of the youngest blogger who explore around the world 🌎 especially in the Philippines. You guys are really very popular even Koda himself. Take care guys and enjoy.❤
It’s so nice watching Lucy’s dad and stepmom enjoying the lechon Cebu. It’s been years that I haven’t eaten lechon Cebu and now I am so craving for it.
Inquire Filipinos in UK, for sure they knew where to get lechon..or to cook lechon..My sister from South Wales and had lechon every time they special having occasions..
As a filipino I'm very grateful to your contents promoting the best of the best that our country has to offer. I'm a certified subscriber of Juicy Vlog. Keep it up guys Godbless❤
Watching from Chicago 🇵🇭🇺🇸thanks for embracing and promoting the beauty of the Philippines hope you have a great stay in the Philippines, and I missed so much … guys take care❤ill never try the lechon from cebu maybe soon when I got back.
What I remembered was that years ago Mike and Nelly visited almost all lechon shop in Cebu and they both concluded that Rico's lechon is the best. Btw there's a Rico's lechon branch in BGC and spicy Rico's lechon is my favorite.
The best lechon I had in Cebu was at House of Lechón on Acacia St, near the Ayala Mall. Lechon is very popular here in Florida, USA, and in all the Caribbean Islands. It is served with congri(black beans/rice) yuca(cassava) with mojo(garlic, vinegar, and olive oil) salad and red wine.
Lucy, So glad your Dad and Mom are having a great time in Cebu/Philippines. Koda he is soooo adorable. Both of you are really a great parent's. God bless your family!. Watching from LA Calif!! Hug and kisses to Koda!!..😘🙏💚!!
You, are right Lucy, cooking Filipino dishes have so many ways of cooking them. Especially, every provinces have their own specialty. The Kapangpangan are known to be great cooks with great dishes. Then Bicol is known for spicy and coconut based dishes. Bulacan are known for their sweets and desserts.
Guys, LECHON is really roasted pig. Someone thought to achieve that crisp by frying so LECHON KAWALI was born. "KAWALI" means frying pan or wok. Different taste but equally yummy. Dip may be the liver sauce (sarsa), vinegar, or catsup. Lechon is an excellent day-after food. Fry the leftover to crisp for breakfast..soooo tasty!
I just remember a book that says the most handsome men in the world are from England. That's your Dad and Gorge really show. Love your family vid and Coda.
Whenever you upload videos with the parents - Jason and Claire and most especially with our super lovely Baby Koda, I am extremely happy & satisfied watching with a smile all throughout. So valuable and amazing. I hope it won't stop uploading with these beautiful people along with you Lucy and George, wherever in the world, I will continue to support your channel. :)You always take care.
Last time you were here in the Philippines you are pregnant but now you go back you have a little boy congrats Lucy, before I always watching your vlog. My favorite lechon in the Philippines is in Cebu particularly in carcar, cebu.
Such good parents you two are- Coda says Thank you when being served and when receiving a gift 😊. Maybe Filipinos in the philippines will take note and teach their kids the same good manners
My favorite lechon experience was visiting the public market in Carcar, a town about an hour south of Cebu City. There are generally 4 or 5 vendors, each with loads of lechon, and there were several whole pigs to be seen. You could choose which part of the pig and how much you wanted, and they would chop it up right in front of you. So fresh and tasty. 😊
I had goosebumps the moment Claire had a bite of that lechon. 😂I bet that tasted divine! ❤ watching this while having the typical bacon, eggs, and sausage. But with rice tho 😅 glad your parents are enjoying the Philippines
Was once assigned to northwestern part of Luzon and typical breakfast, Ilocano I believe in nature, consists mostly of garlic fried rice, fried dried fish like espada (swordfish I think, mostly dried fish), eggs, a salad concoction of tomatoes, onions, sometimes strips of green mangoes with bagoong isda (fermented fish paste).
Our breakfast in Montreal ,Canada it varies depending on where your location is . Quebec breakfast is usually crepes , our authentic poutine . The City of Montreal is so diverse that you have many restaurants that serve various breakfasts. Montreal is a multi lingual city and /or bilingual city , French and English.
You need vinegar with 3 gloves of onion, pepper and then put small amount in the meet of letchon eat it with rice if you want have it also with chilli..yumm
Breakfast since childhood was, sardines in tomato sauce sauté in garlic, onion and spring onion. Plus scrambled egg. Sometimes sausage and egg, fried dried fish with tomato salad and garlic rice. Now that I’m 61, mostly I start with an orange, then coffee (french press) bread and egg. So happy for your parents that they’ve tried the famous Cebu’s lechon. Enjoy and stay safe 😊 First time I saw your vlog was you both entered a mall looking for a restaurant selling lechon. If I’m not mistaken, it was your first time here and it was your second day here. Remembered also how that waiter taught you how to make that dipping sauce.
thank you for brighten up my day! i am having anxiety for 6 months. im a silent viewer of your channel but your vids make me smile and forget all my problems! Godbless you always! ❤
the best lechon in cebu is always in Talisay and Carcar... House of Lechon, Ricos and CNT are too commercialize or shall I say typical lechon in cebu that you can taste anywhere in the City. If you want the best really the best in Cebu try the lechon in Talisay and carcar.
When a meat is salty, (any meat, actually) just dip it in a lot of vinegar, with kalamansi, and chilli if you like. Vinegar somehow takes away that saltiness from the meat. Try it. I do that a lot.
We have Puto Sikwate. It’s sticky rice that floats over a cacao based (tablea) chocolate drink . Come to Hilongos, Leyte and try it George and Lucy! :)
I suggest you visit the world's biggest mango processing plant and showroom which is located in Mandaue City, a city that borders to the north of Cebu City. You'll be able to see how the world famous dried mango from Cebu (Cebu and Philippine brands) is processed. Plus, you'd be able to tour around their large showroom of their products which are exported and sold in grocery stores/supermarkets all over the world.
I love the fried smoked fish like bangus, fried eggplant, dipped in sauce(soy sauce, vinegar, garlic, onion, chillies, honey or sugar) paired with garlic rice.
The most common vinegar used by Cebuanos is the coconut vinegar which has a distinctively sweet and sour taste that creates a really amazing tangy flavor when mixed with soy sauce and Philippine lime (kalamansi) juice and goes well with any meat and vegetables.
Authentic lechon is indeed 💯% jam packed flavor ❤️ I rememb when we visited Cebu that was also one of our main golas to try out cebu lechon cause it's different from the one in Luzon where we usually have gravy sauce. This video brought me back to the memory of that first time trying Cebu lechon. Love your videos. Good vibes as always❤
Great that they allowed you to vlog there. Rico's in BGC did not allow one vlogger with his famiy to vlog inside the restaurant when they stepped in. Not realizing they are getting free advertisement for their business. I felt sad for the kids who came from the USA and was dying to have a taste of lechon. But anyway, grandpa and grandma seem to like almost all the filipino food you introduced to them ❤
The tasty part of the lechon is the belly part in which all the spices are in... In cebu CnT is i can recommend it is way better than ricos.. They have their stall inside malls or infront of sm mabolo.. U can ask the driver if he knows.. 😁 😁
It's fascinating how quickly your dad and stepmom adapted to using a fork and spoon during their first time in the Philippines. Compared to you, Lucy and George, they seem to have learned much faster. I must say, it's quite impressive to see them transition so smoothly from using a fork and knife to a fork and spoon in just a few videos.
Koda got Lucy's coloring and build, both of which she got from Jason. When Koda is all grown up, he'll look like he has George's face on Jason's body 😊
Watching from Sweden and it is 12.30 pm here! I can’t wait to eat authentic lechon! Jason and Clare are lucky to eat it in Cebu, the lechon capital of the Philippines 😊I always love to see Koda enjoying Filipino food❤
Yah y’all tried lechon for the very first time while in Cebu about 5 years ago. The place you ate was at Zebuchon and it was in a mall. You can watch the guy cutting up the lechon from a window.😋😋😋
we actually have it here in UK.. let us know when you're craving.. a bit pricey that we only order it during christmas.. lol it's a whole lechon though but always worth it..a Filipino "bisaya" man cooks it, we just order and he delivers..and it taste just as good.. 👌
