In January, I fell ill with a fever that rendered me immobile for a grueling two weeks. During this period, I experienced a loss of over 10 pounds due to both inactivity and a diminished appetite. Eager to regain my strength, I pushed myself back into activity, only to strain my back in the process. Although I've managed to regain some weight since then, I find myself operating at only 70-80% of my original strength. Fearful of exacerbating my lower back injury, I've been cautious, avoiding heavy rows and deadlifts until I'm confident in my recovery. Even brief sessions on a rowing machine provoke discomfort. I'm incredibly grateful for stumbling upon this video, as I look forward to incorporating the Roman Chair into my back routine until I get back into heavy deadlifts.
Your going to have to give deadlifts up bent over rows anything that doesn't have a support for your chest so that your back isn't vulnerable. He's about longevity. You need to evolve an tailor a new workout according to what your body can handle. Otherwise you'll just get hurt every other week.
Love your vids Mr. O'Hearn . I started my 250lb Weight Loss Journey Last November at 546lbs 239lbs Lean mass (was sitting for 23hrs day basically last 20 years mostly) and now am 477 238lbs Lean mass and over 60% stronger in my back/Bis and legs just doing Bent Over Heavy Rows/Heavy barbell curls and Squats, BW and 160lb Zerchers (my bar only goes to 160). Shoulders is mostly just 6-8 sets OHP (I clean it up cuz no rack) with some raises and Chest is knee pushups or light high Rep presses with my lil bar and tricep stuff. Ive learned some great info from you and applying it to my own Journey. Thank you for the No nonsense BS vids
Say what you want about Mike, but he's been making pure lifting content far longer than pretty much anyone else, and it's remained genuinely informative and entertaining, too.
*Biggest mistake on the Roman Chairs is people go beyond parallel with their back.* I got really good at these and when you have a 45lb plate held to your chest, reach parallel and that mind and muscle connection to flex your ass at the peak? lol It's an insanely potent exercise for the glutes. Surely one of the most isolating for glues and hams when you nail the mind-muscle connection on this one. *Surely one of the best ways to teach the mind-muscle connection to people who doubt it's need and depth.* Also nails the psoas and quadratus lumborum incredibly well.
Mike is all about the eccentric when doing incline bench. Yet, when he does pull ups and other exercises I've noticed he ignores the eccentric part of the lift. Slow down on the pull ups. You might not get as many reps, but it's better for hypertrophy.

The people who hate Mike are losers. They can’t keep a regular gym routine or have any discipline to regulate their diet and sleep. They tried to get jacked but quit at the first roadblock.
