This guy gets something right that most metal guitar players forget these days. He smiles when he plays. Y'know, he actually looks like he's having fun and stuff.
This is freakin' awesome but... We're gonna need about nine more Final Fantasy Meets Metals. Nobuo Uematsu is just that much of a freakin' musical genius. Themes I'd definitely like to see in a FFMM 2... -FF7 regular battle theme -FF10 regular battle theme -Man With The Machine Gun -Final Fantasy Main Theme (It plays when you cross the rebuilt bridge in FF1, among other places in other games) -Clash on the Big Bridge (AKA Gilgamesh's theme) That's all that's on the top of my head right now. But damn near everything is great.
+Manabender Answers. Technically Uematsu wrote the music for it. It counts. Plus if he had the cutscene playing in the background while playing it......... So. Much. Epic.... Or just a picture of Bahamut. Bahamut is metal.
This dude looks so damn happy in all his vids, playing all these great songs with his own take on them! He loves, LOVES what hes doing and you cant help but enjoy it all the more for that reason alone!
So happy to see FF8 getting some love. We used "Waltz for the Moon" in our fantasy-themed wedding ceremony, pictured at left. FF8 is still our favorite of the numbered games, even after all of these years.
These covers should have been the actual music for the game! You combined my favorite instrument with my favorite video game- and again I liked it more than the original!! You're absolutely amazing, and as we can all see- you're happy doing it. So please do more!! I can't stop listening- too good.
Not only is he learning and playing all of these songs in his own style but he's playing them consecutively.... incredibly talent. Do you guys realize what you just witnessed??
***** Didn't the Black Mages already do a rock/metal cover of it? Obviously, it's with a chorus and orchestra, so it isn't as pure, but still sounds amazing.
no way I've played a bunch of final fantasy games ff7 is better than 6 story and characters are better and chrono trigger is also a amazing game not taking away anything from 6 but I think 7 us better
I would love to see/hear a cmplete cover of dancing mad. On second thought considering the complexity and length, your fingers may fall off and you guitar might explode. It would still be awesome though.
Even as a metal song, To Zanarkand still brings a tear to my eye. A manly tear. Liberi Fatali sounds like it was meant to be made to have a metal cover.
Uematsu made too much awesome music to put in a single compilation, unfortunately. There's just so much there to explore, and all of it epic. But at least you put in Terra's theme and even squeezed in a quite Chocobo soundbyte. I think One Winged Angel and Dancing Mad really deserve their own dedicated vids, though. Because seriously, you'd rock the pants off of even the Black Mage version.
Oh man, I cannot get enough of your covers. They are fucking amazing!! Love the flawless transition from One-Winged Angel to Kefka's final battle music (Dancing Mad). I was so happy you added that from FFVI! So boss.
You are amazing. I love that you look so happy while playing these songs too. Definitely makes it even more engaging! Thank you for sharing your talent man!
I just discovered your channel this morning and I have to say that I just love the passion you show in every video you do. The fact that you obviously love what you do is what allows you to hit the level of awesome that you do!
You need to do another final fantasy cover, but one STRICTLY for Final Fantasy 11. Do West Raunfaure, Sandoria, and Juno. I will give you a freaking cookie the size of Canada if you do so.
Don't do it, you'll start the grandmapocalypse! In case you don't get the reference (probably not?): orteil.dashnet.org/cookieclicker/ cookieclicker.wikia.com/wiki/Grandmapocalypse
>Finally get FF7 after all these years of hearing people rave about it. >Original 3 disk version, as authentic as it's going to get. >Play about halfway through the game. >Go on my computer one day. >See something about a FF7 remake. >MFW I realize that I just played through half of the original game with the horrible blurry textures and backgrounds. >I could have saved my first experience with this masterpiece for the new, awesome HD remake. >But the universe was like "haha, nope." Darn it universe, stop messing with me.
+Angus the Skinny White Hippie Finish the old version anyway. The new is a complete remake, so it won't be the same experience. It'll be cool, but not the classic.

sarah aanerud Oh, I see. The multiplayer mechanic sounds interesting. So basically they're trying to keep it as similar to the original as possible while updating it to work with a modern-day audience. At least, that's what I gathered from that article.
FF VII was and always will be the best FF game. It's the only one that actually made me cry multiple times throughout. Although, I've only played III, VII, VIII, IX, X, X2, XII, and XIII. X2 has to be the worst and most disappointing... Sorry X2 fans, it was crap...
1-3 are all fine if you have your nostalgia goggles on. 4 Passes for a really well-written RPG with less padding (Slow start though, but that's to be expected of the first 4 games). 5 and 6 are in the same league of well-polished FF games. 7 is only regarded by some as the best because of Sephiroth and the whole JENOVAH and end of the world thing. Personally, I much prefer 9 and 10 to 7. I can't comment on 8 because I skipped it entirely. Same goes for 11, 12, 13 and 15.
damn i started following your vids somwhere around your first 3 or so, now a long time later you just keep on going and i cant stop listening the songs XD *currently playing old final fantasy games on mute while playing this song on the background, turning everything into a epic moment*
Dude...this is fucking amazing...I don't have the words to describe how much I love your choice of songs and how wonderfully you played em...well fucking done, sir. May I buy you a beer?
ffx10 was my intro to final fantasy and probably was for you too? either way, that intro just brought back memories galore! thank you for that! keep it up!
bryguy1997 I agree, I loved 12, a huge amount of content and I liked most of the characters and the general story. Amsad you cant even get it on the ps store :c would love an HD version of it too.
The game play was surely amazing. But like the dude before me said, Characters and the story was way to lame. Vaan was the most unlikable protaginst i have ever played with.
Would be more impressive had the black mages albums not been made first but still good. Seriously if you want full versions of ff songs set to rock/metal check them out. Its done by the original composer.
never have i ever seen anyone play guitar with so mutch joy as you in all ur vids u have a smile on ur face u must love playing guitar its a joy to hear you play
This was the first ever video I watched of u since i was a kid 7 years ago I even have this downloaded on my spotify that's right spotify and I still listen to this day u are a legend man thank u for being the greatest
Already absolutely adored the soundtrack. And you took it and made it even more epic. The talent you possess. Amazing. Simply amazing. Words really can't express it. So I'll just say thanks :)
This guy gets something right that most metal guitar players forget these days. He smiles when he plays. Y'know, he actually looks like he's having fun and stuff.
Weeaboo Destroyer So damn true!
if i could play like that id be smilling too.
+Weeaboo Destroyer Damn right.
+Weeaboo Destroyer ahahah that's right man :3
anyways whats wrong with ur nick? xD weaboo destroyer?
he's really good
00:00 - To Zanarkand (FFX)
00:50 - The Decisive Battle (FFVI)
02:10 - Liberi Fatali (FFVIII)
03:19 - Chocobo (FF)
03:42 - Terra (FFVI)
04:05 - One Winged Angel (FFVII)
04:57 - Dancing Mad (FFVI)
VI is the greatest, even the music
This is freakin' awesome but...
We're gonna need about nine more Final Fantasy Meets Metals. Nobuo Uematsu is just that much of a freakin' musical genius.
Themes I'd definitely like to see in a FFMM 2...
-FF7 regular battle theme
-FF10 regular battle theme
-Man With The Machine Gun
-Final Fantasy Main Theme (It plays when you cross the rebuilt bridge in FF1, among other places in other games)
-Clash on the Big Bridge (AKA Gilgamesh's theme)
That's all that's on the top of my head right now. But damn near everything is great.
+Manabender Most of these have already met metal, thanks to Uematsu-san's The Black Mages.
+bonfingertip Love The Black Mages. Though I would still love to hear Erock's take on them.
+Manabender Answers. Technically Uematsu wrote the music for it. It counts. Plus if he had the cutscene playing in the background while playing it......... So. Much. Epic.... Or just a picture of Bahamut. Bahamut is metal.
Manabender Would need at least 10 FFMM's each game could have its own video
Dragon Quest, to me, always had the superior music, seeing a ton of that translated to metal would be fantastic
This dude looks so damn happy in all his vids, playing all these great songs with his own take on them! He loves, LOVES what hes doing and you cant help but enjoy it all the more for that reason alone!
I love it; his joy is contagious!
I want a full version of To Zanarkand!!!
***** me too :c
Lord PickleDickles search for The Black Mages - The Skies Above
Lord PickleDickles hell yes that would be awesome.
+Lord PickleDickles I kinda like how this guy ALWAYS smiles when he plays.
You can so clearly see that he loves the pieces, and playing them.
I support this message.
I can't believe you didn't play Victory Fanfare at the end.
It deserves its own damn video
So happy to see FF8 getting some love. We used "Waltz for the Moon" in our fantasy-themed wedding ceremony, pictured at left. FF8 is still our favorite of the numbered games, even after all of these years.
man ive seen this atleast like 400 times over like 9 years . ILYSM bro
Square Enix, are you watching, you need to contact this guy for the FF7 remake, just sayajin.
i agree so hard!
+Ich1GoTgl YES.
one of the best and best of all the best..
Holy fuck yes lol
And also Square....NO MORE SINGING DURING TRACKS! it totally throws off the mood of the game.
Your take on Liberi Fatali is beyond epic! I was picturing the opening sequence of FFVIII in my head and shit was intense!
That was the most impressive playing of, "The Decisive Battle," I've ever seen, you nailed it man, great job!
NERDGASM!!!! I love how he used that Boss Battle theme from FFVI. I love this guy. ❤️❤️❤️❤️
it's called dancing mad, in case you ever want to look it up and bask in the glory that is my battle theme.
and of course i also love you, tiny human.
gotta admit...it'd hurt like hell...but I wanna see you do Dancing Mad as well....
Kefka Palazzo
Sorry to burst your bubble, but I think he meant the decisive battle theme.
FFVI final boss theme is "Dancing mad"
These covers should have been the actual music for the game! You combined my favorite instrument with my favorite video game- and again I liked it more than the original!! You're absolutely amazing, and as we can all see- you're happy doing it. So please do more!! I can't stop listening- too good.
Not only is he learning and playing all of these songs in his own style but he's playing them consecutively.... incredibly talent. Do you guys realize what you just witnessed??
Cao Cao Look, if you're not working the balls it's not worth doing at all.
hksin11186 Always remember to work the shaft and cup the balls.
+POD TRASH It's not difficult, just practice and have love for music. And rock is not dead... What the hell.
FlutterSky1
You do have to admit though, he's very talented at what he does. You wouldn't be here if he wasn't.
Vincent Shayler-Day
I would be, of course! But yes, I admit he is pretty good!
The way he keeps his simple smile throughout his videos tells me that he loves what he does. Awesome. I'll be a fan.
Best part of your videos is that you always looks so damn happy, like you really enjoy playing. It's awesome!
WE NEED A FULL VERSION OF ONE WINGED ANGEL
***** Didn't the Black Mages already do a rock/metal cover of it? Obviously, it's with a chorus and orchestra, so it isn't as pure, but still sounds amazing.
Terra... my god I'm speechless :/
small part yet so fucking satisfying to hear
Final Fantasy 6 and Chrono Trigger will stand as the best games of all time.
Took me forever to finally find someone that wasn't crazy.
Jeremy Madison I agree Chrono Trigger is amazbawls
+Jeremy Madison i agree with your statement
I agree 100%
no way I've played a bunch of final fantasy games ff7 is better than 6 story and characters are better and chrono trigger is also a amazing game not taking away anything from 6 but I think 7 us better
A Metal head who play Final Fantasy music, wearing Superman t-shirt and has Green Lantern tattoo in his hand... You're a amazing person!!
I would love to see/hear a cmplete cover of dancing mad. On second thought considering the complexity and length, your fingers may fall off and you guitar might explode. It would still be awesome though.
Actually the Black Mages did it. It wasn't that great, though. :/
Julia Linne AKHT's cover is pretty great.
I agree 100%. Every time I watch this video, Dancing Mad makes me shit bricks. If anyone can do it, it's Erock.
one winged angel too is awesome
i think he could do it.... but i dont think the guitar would hold up.
Even as a metal song, To Zanarkand still brings a tear to my eye. A manly tear.
Liberi Fatali sounds like it was meant to be made to have a metal cover.
Anyone else get the chills when Terra's theme starts?
3:42 Goosebumps. Every Time. First Terra's Theme then One winged angel. Two of the greatest soundtracks ever.
he casted haste on his fingers.... pure awesomeness..
That interpretation of Liberi Fatali was actually more beautiful being heavy . that sounds to good.
That awkward moment when you realize that metalheads are just nerds with long hair.
Yes, but they're AWESOME nerds
Led Zeppelin didn't clue you in on that earlier? Song lyrics literally include Golum and Sauron stealing this hot girl he just met.
Unless they are construction lads.
first of all, I love it.
and the riff just before the chocobo theme. so nice. I wanted more.
I literally only listen to your videos while I work.
Oh yeah I would love those two songs on their own in long format!
This, cannot agree enough.
'E uses OD: Sweep the Neck.' 999999999 damage. Victory!!!
102 people died by Sephiroth's hand... \m/
all hail sephiroth! lol i love him ...
Good to hear that| :)
Ah, sei italiana??? Ahahahah lol
***** lol si nota dal mio inglese pessimo?! O.o
Ah ah ah... no... ma dai... è il "malatest" che mi ha insospettito... lol
Oh man, I cannot get enough of your covers. They are fucking amazing!!
Love the flawless transition from One-Winged Angel to Kefka's final battle music (Dancing Mad). I was so happy you added that from FFVI! So boss.
Out of all the covers is this vid, my favorite is One Winged Angel. Keep it up, man! You are amazing!
I can agree because this is really cool
+MetalMusicFreak2014 I say Dancing Mad took it all.
***** Cool.
FULL VERSION OF TO ZANARKAND PLEASE :) (AND THE OTHERS :P)
Yeah a full song of zanarkand would be so awesome
SheepFromDaHell I third this.. this has to happen
I agree, full version of Zanarkand and Sephiroth.
mirrorman95 Nah, only "To Zanarkand", Sephiroth's theme already has so many covers of it that it really hardly needs any more.
Liberti Metali
I want a full version of this so bad. =|
You are amazing. I love that you look so happy while playing these songs too. Definitely makes it even more engaging! Thank you for sharing your talent man!
dude your kick ass not only do you rock thew green lantern but your rendition is awsome enough to make me weep wishing i can play thaat good
I'm listening to this now because....
FF7 IS getting a remake xD
And I'm crying tears of joy
Dionne Ortiz Me too mate :)
+Dionne Ortiz As am I :')
+Dionne Ortiz oh jesus ... i swear to god
I too am hype for FF7 HD Remake. I would be more hype for a FF6 HD Remake, however.
tfw this was announced over 3 years ago and there is still nothing in terms of actual progress with it, worrying
Still the best cover of Liberi Fatali I can find.
Let's make him do the whole song in a vid ;)
There are some reallllly good ones on overclocked. This is easy the best metal version I've found, there's one on OC that competes.
I just discovered your channel this morning and I have to say that I just love the passion you show in every video you do. The fact that you obviously love what you do is what allows you to hit the level of awesome that you do!
Please do a full cover of One Winged Angel!!!! From reading the comments, I'm sure I'm not the only one that feels that way!!!!
As soon as Decisive Battle started up I almost black out from all the blood rushing to my loins. F@#$ing amazing. \m/
You need to do another final fantasy cover, but one STRICTLY for Final Fantasy 11. Do West Raunfaure, Sandoria, and Juno. I will give you a freaking cookie the size of Canada if you do so.

AMAZING, everything is well put together with the drums too. I would totally buy CDs of these covers. great job!

+Angus the Skinny White Hippie Finish the old version anyway. The new is a complete remake, so it won't be the same experience. It'll be cool, but not the classic.
+sarah aanerud I thought they were just basically releasing the same game with revamped graphics... Well alright, if you say so.

Yup! Just to bring it to a new generation of gamers.
I imagine this song as Cloud and sephiroth dueling on electric guitars.
the FF6 boss music was awesome
Even two fucking years after this video was made, I still cant get over the EPINESS that is this medley. Thank you for such an awesome FF medley.
FF VII was and always will be the best FF game. It's the only one that actually made me cry multiple times throughout. Although, I've only played III, VII, VIII, IX, X, X2, XII, and XIII. X2 has to be the worst and most disappointing... Sorry X2 fans, it was crap...
Hahaha X2 fans! Like if such a thing ever existed!
Super Kami Guru My brother loved the game so I guess X2 fan would be more appropriate lol
Super Kami Guru I actually really enjoyed X-2 but then again, I'm a girl and I was 13. lol
1-6 are all better than 7 in pretty much every way in my opinion.
I didn't like 7 at all, it went too far away from what Final Fantasy was.
I think you should do Dancing mad, I mean, complete Dancing Mad.
I didn't notice anything from FFIV in this. I might have missed it, unless the chocobo theme was it.
It is now March 2023, 11 years on, AND I STILL CANT GET ENOUGH OF THIS!!!
When the zombie's will come. You will defently be my guitar guy. Just for epicness.
FINAL FANTASY 7 "PRELUDE" MEETS METAL
PLEASE
This medley revived Aerith
This should be shared and seen by all. SO AWESOME. Excellent job, sir! I had chills through this entire thing.
You made this more awsome than it was *o*
Look guys, a legend!
Yeahhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhh
damn i started following your vids somwhere around your first 3 or so, now a long time later you just keep on going and i cant stop listening the songs XD
*currently playing old final fantasy games on mute while playing this song on the background, turning everything into a epic moment*
This is what i call a masterpiece
i agree so much with u
AWESOMENESS
i would like you to be my party member anytime.
he'd be the one to use lb
Dude...this is fucking amazing...I don't have the words to describe how much I love your choice of songs and how wonderfully you played em...well fucking done, sir. May I buy you a beer?
i laughed my ass off hearing chocobo theme XD
HOLY SHIT ONE WINGED ANGEL
To zanakand :'( even though its metal still gives me feels
ffx10 was my intro to final fantasy and probably was for you too? either way, that intro just brought back memories galore! thank you for that! keep it up!
decisive battle!!! super epic
Where's the victory sont?!?!
I agree with metalgeargrayfox, please cover Otherworld from FFX!!!
I must have watched this video multiple times over the years and every time I think what he did for Terra just improved it.
I will pay everything to be his neighbor :)
I got testosterone poisoning just from hearing Liberi Fatali.
Fithos Lusec Wecos Vinosec
My favorite Final Fantasy.
The Decisive Battle gave me goosebumps. Truly legendary, man. Keep doing what you're doing. (:
Fina Fantasy died with 10 being the last good one. 7>6>4>9>10>8
nahh 12 was indeed the last good one.
bryguy1997 In terms of gameplay, yeah. The story and characters were beyond boring for the most part.
mmmh...i can agree with there.
bryguy1997 I agree, I loved 12, a huge amount of content and I liked most of the characters and the general story.
Amsad you cant even get it on the ps store :c would love an HD version of it too.
The game play was surely amazing. But like the dude before me said, Characters and the story was way to lame. Vaan was the most unlikable protaginst i have ever played with.

I actually likes XIII.
Sue me :P
Same. That ending tho. I cried.........
XIII wasn't terrible, I personally like XIII-2 more, but I still found it a good game.
10 years later and this is still a Banger!
Every song choice in this was amazing! Each time it changed, it was a hit in the chest with pleasant surprise.
3:24 (or a bit earlier)
= the chocobo riding theme from FF12 loved that music
Wow don't know how i never seen this channel. This is freaking awsome!
Flat out amazing renditions dude. You're incredible. These versions also highlight what an amazing composer Nobuo Uematsu truly is ...
it felt that this entire video is an adventure back to my childhood. thank you man. you really are a legend.
never have i ever seen anyone play guitar with so mutch joy as you in all ur vids u have a smile on ur face u must love playing guitar its a joy to hear you play
Listening to you play One Winged Angel gave me goose bumps! You are amazingly talented!
I love hearing you rock our the Final Fantasy songs.Great job!
these are great too! that wink in the beginning lol:) Liberi Fatali, chocobo theme, TERRA'S THEME, One winged angel, hell the whole thing was awesome!
Thank you so much for including a few songs from FFVI, most notably Terra's theme. It was the first song I ever learned to play on a guitar. :D
I love that you did songs from the best final fantasy ever, number 6. Best story and soundtrack of all.
i weep at your inspiration and intuitivity.
I feel Terras these deserves its own video 😁
I'd love to see you do a full cover of Dancing Mad!
I didn't hear that melodies since I was about 8 years old.... INCREDIBLE !
This sir, just gave me goosebumps! Took me all the way back to my childhood!
3:20 clearly reading music. WHICH IS EVEN MORE AWESOME!!
I'm usually not much of a fan of Metal in general, but man you're good, I find myself wanting a complete song of each of them. Thanks !
