Can we talk about how the interviewer is so respectfull with Louis' solo career and he wishes the best for him, he knows how to lead the interview and be kind, not mentioning the band just to cause an impact or a headline. We can see that he's a great person and a huge fan of Louis and One Direction. This guy is really amazing, Louis deserves all the happiness and love as he can get 💕

Probably one of the most engaging interviews I have seen, nothing fake or rehearsed. This is genuine on both sides

Louis is correct. Being in a boy band , especially one as successful as 1D. For five years the lads lived in a fishbowl. There probably a huge number of time that they didn't know what day of the week it was. There was a time when Liam had a problem with booze, which he licked, but it is a miracle all of them din't wind up on drugs. Being on the road, almost constantly for five years, away from family and loved ones had to have been very stressful. It's a blessing that they all have great solo careers, which they can control themselves. I say well done lads. I too, would like to see a reunion, but only when they're ready, and only if they have control of it. I don't want to see them pushed around by a greedy, uncaring management company.
They aren't kids anymore, and they know the business now.

I like this interview, because unlike a lot these days, it focuses on the music first and foremost, doesn't ignore what came before with One Direction, touches on him and how he's doing personally without crossing lines, and it's true to Louis in that it's grounded and down to earth. Interviews that want to talk about anything but the music are dominating, which defeats the point of them to promote the music and to share that and the process of it with the fans, but this interviewer was the right balance of what every interviewer should be with a good bit of banter thrown in for good measure.
Seeing Louis open up and talk about how brave it is to make some of the choices he has, to take a risk on himself, and to find confidence and contentment because of it is so far from where he's been at times, and it makes me so proud to see someone who haled from the part of the county as me, a few towns over, doing so well and representing the part of the world where we come from that's so often overlooked. And I'm so proud of him in general, of where he's come from, where he's been taken, the things that he's had to suffer through, and look at him now, he's doing so well and going so far. He's doing his own thing regardless of what anyone else is doing, and I like that, it's honest, it's real, and because of that, because of who he is as a person, it makes the music mean more.
