      Or attract QUALIFIED drivers. You get what you pay for. I see these drivers on their phones -WITH KIDS ON THE BUS! Bottom of the barrel drivers. By using AI, they’re taking a HUGE chance. One thing I know about electronics is that it ALWAYS breaks. All you need is one microchip to fail to send the bus speeding into a brick wall.

      @@grazz7865 The AI isn't driving the bus. The AI is generating the bus routes and no human is double-checking it.

      ​@@obsidianjane4413yeah about to say that. This is actually a perfect way to use AI. The data they fed it was not accurate. Either way, the routes should have been reviewed in real world conditions prior to going live.

    Perhaps they should have done a dry run before the first day of school. The problems would have surfaced.

    This is what happens when you don't ask the people directly involved, who have the experience and the required knowledge, to fix a problem. It is similar to school administrations telling teacher what and how to teach.

    Before I say what I’m gonna say online school was basically a flop in most places during the covid lockdown, but if school districts can’t get bus drivers to work then I think they should do school online temporarily until the issue is fixed. Some education is better than no education

    🤦‍♀️What if there was an emergency on the bus and there was no adult to help. Yeah I pretty sure there a camera on the bus and someone monitoring what going inside but let’s say one of the kid heart just stop, time is important they can’t wait for an ambulance to get there to help. This is the stupidest thing they could have done.

    I’m confused, so are the buses self driving with AI? We see how terrible the self driving cars are TODAY! Why should ANYONE trust their child on a bus like that? Let alone ones that started way back in 2017 WITHOUT all the kinks worked out!

    The real geniuses behind this decision making out to be fired.. That’s all they know is how to talk!! They don’t know the logistics that is truly involved in transporting these precious cargo. But yet these are the people making 100xxx per yer. Pay those bus drivers!! They do and go through a lot. You people behind a desk have no idea what they go through daily behind that wheel.

    Home before dinner?! Honey, no child should spend longer than an hour on board that bus, before being dropped off at their stop! (Yeah, technically that should be before dinner, but kids should have no longer than a 2-hour commute daily! One hour in; one hour home, MAX!

    they fed the AI with a bad map that has no traffic info or anything else put into it and just said "draw a line to connect all the dots as short as possible"

      Someone kind of bus routing system that seems to make the routes for the schools from what it seems like. Usually in the past the schools designed them and decided the bus stops, now that computer system did it for them.

      It's like FedEx, UPS, etc., where the computer figures out the best route to get the truckload of packages delivered in the least amount of time. Sort of like asking Siri or Alexa for directions given all the kid's addresses or drop-off points and making the drivers follow the directions.

    So you are a bus driver and your company has a AI computer provide the route you take. It provides a wrong or slow route and the human bus driver does not say “This is stupid” and takes the traditional route to get the kids home. Come on people

    This is what happens when you keep cutting education budgets, as republican states continue to do. The drivers aren't paid a living wage, so no one wants to do the job. Start realizing that education is important, and refuse republican cuts.

      How are bus drivers supposed to earn a livable wage driving a couple hours a day? Pay them $100 an hour? This is at best a job for retirees or for supplementary income.

      Oh we got a liberal here. So instead of the democrat run school to pay what u liberals like to call a livable wage, which doesn't exist. They give the 200,000 dollars to a business that owned by a friend of the democrat politicians. So explain how they cut the budget but can spend 200k on a computer to do something in 2 seconds. This will require thinking for you
