Du Bois Automatic Chronograph Watch Valjoux 7751 Service

Du Bois chronograph, brand known for being the oldest Swiss Factory, very special 38mm golden case. The watch was in working order, a strap fastening screw was lost. It will be worn by a lady and I have been asked in addition to a service to replace the strap.

You have to admire the engineering that went into developing a movement like this, it must of taken years to develop it and then engineer the machines to mass produce them, and no computers or automated machines it amazes me.

That watch movement is better than any Rolex or jaeger coultre the workmanship is unbelievable.

Very nice watch and nice work. But why after washing machine do you manually rinse all the parts? And why drying on a tissue which does not look particularly lint-free? I am a beginner, rinse manually and dry much like you on paper, but the one like you shouldn't rely on the machine only?

Sometimes the parts are very dirty or very greasy and not come out 100% clean from the machine. Then I do a manual rinse in hexane.👍

Can I ask what solution is in the glass vessels when you soak them after the machine clean. Sorry if I’m being curious but I’m learning watchmaking.
