I do think suing them is justifiable in this case. I’m so devastated for that woman and daughter losing their husband & father in the blink of an eye like that. I can’t even imagine. You’re just home having a regular night with family, cops visit wrong home & kill your patriarch. I’m deeply saddened.
not something to cry about. The daughter is better off. The man was going to spend time in prison anyway the next time he points his gun at or shoots some random delivery person if the cops never visited. This is why normal people look through a window or door hole.
If I were the cops I’ll keep yelling “police” nonstop to let everyone knows it in the vicinity. I’m saddened from this tragedy. May the father Rest In Peace. 😢
They announced that at the beginning, and even if the homeowner didn't hear it, he could have looked out the window just to see who's out there or he could have not open the door at all, running out with a gun is the dumbest thing you can do in that situation.
99% of people who own guns for home defense understand this very clearly actually. The #1 rule of home defense is shelter in place with your firearm and family instead of searching for and confronting the suspected home invaders
and youre saying he cant hear them scream "its the police department" and even if he couldnt he couldve checked out the window, its not like his door was getting kicked down, but even so rip to the guy and I hope the family can pull through this.

I even let them park in my driveway, as street parking was scarce. At no point did I shoot them. You don’t need to answer your door with a gun in your hand. Or shoot at people that pull into your driveway. It seems that in today’s society, we’re conditioned to treat people we don’t know as threats.
It’s 100% acceptable to end the life of a potential threat. Anyone who Carry’s a gun without a badge will eventually get what’s coming to them. As you can see the old man clearly got his. No amount of apologies can bring the family member back, those cops should be charged with murder, no shots were fired from the home owner, he paid with his life for the cops inability to get the house numbers correct. So tragic, condolences to the family
its sad but the cops did nothing wrong, they started walking away and the guy opened the door with a gun pointed, it doesnt matter if it "could" just be self defense, for all they know he could be insane, then the cops obviously take cover and he starts shooting, then later the mom comes out and starts shooting as well after seeing the police just kill her husband, while you could argue this wouldnt have happened if the police got the right number, it also wouldnt have happened if the dad wasnt reckless and coming out to door knock with loaded rifle. and plus dont act like you have never mixed up some numbers in your life, especially in a hurry and with someone's life potentially on the line, I dont think I would be double checking the numbers I read.
Dude, charging them with murder would just guarantee that they'd get off scot free, no consequences, because there isn't a jury in the world that would be convinced that was murder. Now if you charged them with manslaughter, there's a better chance that charge would stick. But even then they might still be acquitted. Hundred goddamn thousand percent. "Men." Exactly.
he came out with a weapon.
@@horse3987 which is something entirely within his rights. he wasn't pointing it at the officers, and they shot him several times before even finishing the sentence "put the gun down"
@@tomspooner9093 if he didn't get shot he was gonna shoot at the cops.
I'm not taking any sides but you don't just go outside with a gun in hand, that's just common sense. Im not counting that as home defense, they just knocked on his door and announced they were the police. Not even sure what the police did to provoke him.
This is way we need stand your ground laws against cops trespassing in people home and property
Paid leave is insane
RIP to that guy. I feel so bad for him and it is completely unacceptable for cops to shoot an innocent man. They need to be arrested.
Never open your door with a gun. Everyone knows that
Why should the cops be arrested? The dude walked out with a loaded gun and had it raised at officers. The officers had no choice but to fire.
@@GordonNick don’t matter. they did manslaughter.
@@GordonNick right
The reason they’re on paid leave is because they didn’t shoot an unarmed person. Like who opens the door with a gun in your hand on a gun? Bro should have just looked out of his window. But yet he knew no gun safety and died because of it. This is entirely justified.
Imagine how the person who called the cops is feeling 😢😕
Feeling lucky 🍀

Lmao 😅😅😅😅😅😅😅
Thinking. Boy I got one idiot neighbor 🤦😅
Hey its like someone delivering beer to the wrong house, and they let you keep the beer
Unacceptable
Those cops knew it was the wrong house and still shot him, they need to be removed from their position and go straight into jail.
The guy pointed a gun at the officers immediately after opening the door, mate. This officers shot in self-defense. Go watch the video again. Think before you share a stupid comment.
@@jaguwa4816 Which pixel is pointing a gun, Pleb?
Father of 3 and a wife inside you get a knock at the door at night. You’re first reaction is to go get the gun, swing the door open, and start firing!?!? He’s putting his whole family in danger cause he wants to play hero. Stay your dumbass inside and communicate/investigate. How hard is it people. HE DID THE DUMBEST THING HE COULD’VE DONE. BUT NOOO ITS ALWAYS THE COPS FAULT. AMERICA IS FINISHED.
Clown saying it’s the homeowners fault. FOH!
How do you "Apologize" for killing a random guy and messing up his family forever??!! Wtf!
Those police must go to prison
I bet the person they were looking for booked it.
there goes their careers
Unfortunately they won't get any jail time
If they do get fired they can always go work at another department the next town over
Nah, they'll be promoted next year.
@@YEEYEE-dy8tk Clean. Really 😂
The fact that he says that you shouldn’t walk out of your house with a gun on your own property worst excuse
This is honestly horrible. They shot an father dead, and they got pretty much paid vacation, and the family got apologized to. No money given, and no firing happened.
you left out the part where the man came running out pointing a gun at police. Although it was accidental, police aren't to blame for defending themselves against a likely threat.
