    Not sure if the homeowner heard the police announcing themselves. I don't see the police lights flashing in the background and I'd be pretty scared too if there's unexpected knocking on my door at night.

      in full video released police guy whisperd once that he was police in between knocks at the door then when he talked to his radio you can clearly hear that he talks normal/loud to his radio and the 1 time when he said police at your door or something in that context it was on whisper level of noise, just look up the video Im suprised no one even mentions it

      because the homeowner pointed a gun at officers who went to an address one number off when their whole job is number codes and can be easily confused. pointing a gun at someone who is not a threat is brandishing and considered a deadly threat. the homeowner could have been charged if it was just some church people at the door.

It is not illegal to investigate the noises you heard at your front door at 11:30 at night holding your gun, a time which you wouldn't even find chruch people at your door, criminals however.

      Why is it so difficult to wrap your head around the fact that the guy came out with a firearm and pointed it at the officers. That's why he got lit up. And if you watch the whole body cam footage you'll see that the police officers were simply knocking, they weren't walking around his property peeping through windows or walking in the backyard.

      It’s like the officers didn’t communicate with one another. Did the officer/s at the door not communicate with the one shooting that they were at the wrong address just minutes before the homeowner answered the door? This was botched from the beginning!
      I can see where this is going and it better be big and ugly! This is incredibly sad and should have NEVER happened!
      This poor family went to sleep that night and were abruptly awakened by multiple idiots on their city police force just to have their husband and father executed and the wife and mother almost suffered the same fate all while the daughter calls 911 with no telling how many other kids were witness to this brutal act in the house.

    This story literally made me cry. Just a man trying to protect his family late at night, and he gets shot for it. I think the cop jumped to shooting way too fast in this case. I do think suing them is justifiable in this case. I’m so devastated for that woman and daughter losing their husband & father in the blink of an eye like that. I can’t even imagine. You’re just home having a regular night with family, cops visit wrong home & kill your patriarch. I’m deeply saddened.

    Just last night, someone unexpectedly knocked on my door. You know what I did? I answered it and found out it was 3 people who were at the wrong address. They were looking for my neighbor. I even let them park in my driveway, as street parking was scarce. At no point did I shoot them. You don’t need to answer your door with a gun in your hand. Or shoot at people that pull into your driveway. It seems that in today’s society, we’re conditioned to treat people we don’t know as threats.

Cops were trigger happy and it shows with how many shots occurred and also towards the wife when she answered the door after her husband was shot dead. The cops before shooting could have yelled to lower his firearm but I understand in a matter of nanoseconds anything could have been possible, the homeowner could have shot too.     Something similar happened to my wife and I. We lived and an apartment complex for a little over a year and had cops come to our home 4 different times with the wrong address and wrong guy. Some of the cops were nice but others just plain rude and disrespectful. They asked me to step out but I didn’t and my wife finally had it and told them off. They realized they were wrong and left. It’s crazy they can’t figure out the right address

      its sad but the cops did nothing wrong, they started walking away and the guy opened the door with a gun pointed, it doesnt matter if it "could" just be self defense, for all they know he could be insane, then the cops obviously take cover and he starts shooting, then later the mom comes out and starts shooting as well after seeing the police just kill her husband, while you could argue this wouldnt have happened if the police got the right number, it also wouldnt have happened if the dad wasnt reckless and coming out to door knock with loaded rifle. and plus dont act like you have never mixed up some numbers in your life, especially in a hurry and with someone's life potentially on the line, I dont think I would be double checking the numbers I read.

      Dude, charging them with murder would just guarantee that they'd get off scot free, no consequences, because there isn't a jury in the world that would be convinced that was murder. Now if you charged them with manslaughter, there's a better chance that charge would stick. But even then they might still be acquitted. But just running around claiming murder isn't going to get anyone to take you seriously. That's why there's investigations with trials by professional lawyers, and it's not left up to random internet people.

      @@prettypoppin_552 again, both sides were wrong. Yes, he is allowed to go to the door with a weapon *if* necessary. Instead he pointed the weapon at the cops which was a huge mistake on his part, and the cops huge mistake was getting the wrong home address.

      Well here is my question, was he aiming the gun at the cops? If he was then I can understand why they opened fire. Its a reflex considering everything they deal with. If he wasnt aiming the gun at the cops and simply had it at his side then yes the cops made a bad call. Cant tell from the video shown here.
