The real question is why aren't you using coinbase pro instead which only charges a 0.5% fee(per buy or sell) and even lower if you trade over $10,000/month volume. Set limit orders and get the exact price you willing to buy and sell at. Though I miss the old days of Coinbase pro which had zero fees on limit orders. sad face.
I don't recommend Coinbase Pro to people because A) beginners will instantly sign off when they see the mess of a UX/UI and all that jazz built for traders, and B) Coinbase Pro wait times are abhorrent... I don't want people waiting days to move their crypto to a hardware wallet. I'm working on a study that will show the statistical likelihood that one forgets their crypto and opts not to move it to a hardware wallet for each day they have to wait to do so after purchase. Overall, despite the fees paid (net) might be less on Coinbase Pro than the spread on Cash App, the instantaneous nature of it and the user friendliness to those brand new to Bitcoin drove this to be my pick. Thanks for your comment! PS, this comment is not at all aimed to be argumentative, rather just a direct answer as to why I chose what I did :) have a great one
One thing to be aware of with cash app is their outlandish terms and conditions. They can basically shut down your account for whatever reason whenever they want to. Also, they don’t have phone support available. I know it seems minor but if you go on Twitter you’ll see how cash app has prevented many users from cashing out for days/weeks without the ability to contact their customer service via phone. Noob here. I actually became interested because I'm nearing retirement age - but already "retired" because that's what happens when you get in your 50's (unless you're lucky). My old company actually hired me back immediately - but as a contractor - so they didn't have to pay me benefits. Lovely. Anyway, between that, coronavirus and the insanity that is QE infinity (in the US) - I've moved most of my stock holdings out of the market. I can't afford to lose $$. I'm looking at alternatives and think having some crypto is a good hedge against what could happen to fiat currency and hopefully I'll make money too. Not looking to invest a lot of my $$ in crypto (bitcoin and ethereum for now) - but a chunk.

Cash App really was the best, until they raised their fees to 1.75% !!! Coinbase (regular, not pro) is only 1.49%. I agree with all your other comments, about speed, etc.
They are equal if you have a pre-funded account or a linked bank up to $200 buys :) Coinbase slaps you with a nice 3.99% for debit/credit, and the fees go up past $200. To me, the thing that drives me the most nuts about Coinbase is the wait times. It can take hours just to get bitcoin and move it out to a hardware wallet Coinbase Pro can be a great place to get low fees if you can get limit orders in
@@Hashoshi4 , thanks :) I agree, the wait times are ridiculous ...in this day and age when Venmo can send immediate money to your account, not to mention the instantaneous nature of cypto, the business that coinbase is in!! Unacceptable.
Cash app charges way more than Coinbase I put $100 into bitcoin through Cash App and my actual investment was $92. I’ve also bought crypto on Coinbase and pay their five dollar fee which isn’t as bad but my best experience with buying bitcoin was on Robinhood
One significant problem with Square cash is their limits on withdrawals or sending or btc to an external wallet address. They recently allowed larger purchases of bitcoin... but never changed their other limits. It would take months to a year to withdraw all your funds to your own wallet if you buy large amounts. I have sent them numerous emails and messages about this. They don’t listen.
@@Hashoshi4 Sq Cash allows you to buy $100K of bitcoin now per week (at least it says that in my app)...but only allows $2K per day withdrawal and a max of $5K per week. That's insane. You can't even withdrawal 1 bitcoin for at least 2 weeks after buying. They need to get with the times and price changes. They are doing this on purpose to hold your bitcoin and money instead of allowing the customer to send to their personal wallet for security. Not your Keys...Not your Bitcoin.
Great video as usual....Love what you do here. For folks living in America and the UK this is great! For other countries like mine.... Cash App does not work internationally - you cannot make payments to someone in a different country. Cash App can only be used to send money within the country you live, and the service is only available in the US and UK.Dec 31, 2019. Abra works well in the Philippines.....Very nice app overall.

@@Hashoshi4 Are there a lot of Filipinos using bitcoin? My gf here in the US just had a bad experience transferring money using xoom to her kids and extended family there, so we are going back to Western Union which we never had a problem with. I asked her about using bitcoin, she said she, nor her family knows anything about bitcoin and dismissed using it. I thought it would be a good way to transfer money to them, but it looks like there is a big learning curve to overcome. Any suggestions? Interested in some use cases between here and there.
I would never use Cashapp. Bro. Coinbase pro is the best way to buy , sell bitcoin. Cashapp fee are too high u need to do your research better. If you buy 15 dollars in bitcoin on Cashapp it cost 59 cent. That’s crazy and way too much. On Coinbase pro it’s only 5 or 6 cents.
Fair enough, limit orders on Coinbase Pro are virtually free, you're right. The issue is this: balancing that against the A) glacial wait times on Coinbase for funding the account, filling the order, then freeing it up to send to a hardware wallet and B) the fact that the average DCA bitcoin buyer is going to open Coinbase Pro once and never try again because it's too confusing . Balancing the fee structure against the inconvenience factor and wait time, the average user will get more out of Cash App and is more likely to stick with it AND because it is instantly available, the new users are more likely to send straight to a hardware wallet instead of forgetting about it on Coinbase. For all intents and purposes, you're right if comparing fees alone, but it's a more niche crowd that will do it that way and you lose out on potentially better prices if you don't have a funded account in Coinbase Pro IMO Thanks for your comment, I really do appreciate and welcome contrarian opinions and feedback. However, I would please ask that you omit accusations, for example, that I have not done research. Everything I say on this channel has a reason and substantiation. I may not always be right, but I have always done my research in earnest and take a side for a reason.
Great question! happy to answer any questions you may have btw. The critical component of a hardware wallet is self-custody. Think of it this way, when you buy crypto on an exchange, the exchange is the one who owns your crypto because they own the cryptographic keys that allow them to move the cryptocurrency around on the blockchain when you use their app. This means that if they are hacked or go out of business, your crypto is lost with them. However, with a hardware wallet, you can store your OWN cryptographic keys so your cryptocurrency is in your custody. You are not storing the actual coins ON the device, just the keys to move those assets on the blockchain. With a hardware wallet, you have a secure device made for storing these sensitive pieces of information :) There are plenty of user friendly options out there too like the Ledger or Trezor
What about thinking that now I have bought Bitcoins and later on I get informed that these "Bitcoins" are trash and: "you got cheated". There are tons of youtube channels that say: "hey freako, get your Bitcoins anonymously". Why should anybody sell real Bitcoins to an anonymous buyer? This all looks fishy.
I would appreciate any advice on avoiding or minimising bank transfer fees with Coinbase/G Dax... Coinbase is a US-based company, as far as I know... Do UK-based clients pay more for bank-to-bank transfers between the UK and the US? What's your experience?
Cash App Fees. I cashed out $3400 and it cost me $80 in fees. I thought that was high. Cash App is made for kids not a serious trader. there is a coin base vs coin base Pro. if I had done that trade in Coin Base Pro it would of been less then $30
Successful people don't become that way overnight.what most people see at a glance-wealth,a great career,purpose- is the result of hardwork and hustle over time.
Hashoshi...I hear you on the CB fees and that's why I'm looking for alternatives. I am a retired USAF service member now working as a contractor on a military installation here in Germany. I tried to set up my bank account with Cash App but they only work with US bank accounts that have US addresses. My dilemma here is that I have an APO, AE address. Are you aware of any work arounds here? I'm willing to transfer a certain amount of crypto for anything that pans out. Thank you in advance.
I've done quite a few :) Here is a playlist of those videos: ua-cam.com/play/PLZWRruJDdjy2IiZMHKCo175R_UGE6XWy8.html For me, I use a handful of different wallets and spread my crypto out. My primaries are ColdCard, BC Vault and Nano X :)

When I recently used Cash App I was going to be charged a huge exchange rate, so I never used it. I think it is super convenient, like Coinbase Pro - if you are comparing to Coinbase when Coinbase Pro is free then that is doing a disservice to your viewers - where you can easily buy crypto like BTC. I think Cash App is way too expensive. Kraken and Coinbase Pro are far cheaper. Get more BTC for your money. After that, you could send to Cash App if you like. But, pushing Cash App helps them to retirement!!

Check out coinbase. They hold your purchases for days before you can sell or send it!!! ETH 104 days, LINK 40 days, BTC 89 days, XRP-91 days. etc......WTF I didn't get the memo! These terms seem to have been updated this morning. Anybody here know about this beforehand???????

Are you serious? Have you ever tried coinbase? What you say is the complete opposite coinbase has 0.2%fees when you use the gdax exchange which belongs to coinbase
Yes I’ve tried coinbase - while the fees are reasonable for limit orders, the wait times are out of control and the UX is awful New entrants into the space need to get in the habit of getting their Bitcoin and moving it immediately off exchange to a self custody wallet IMO
@@Hashoshi4 you don't say this clearly in the video this misleads new people who don't know better and this will make them say BTC is a scam and all people who use it when they eventually learn that the fees in other exchanges are 0.1-0.2%. you only want affiliates and you are doing a disservice to BTC community you should delete the video and upload an updated one with the true information... Thank you, but let me press you a little more. I have my ledger where i keep my crypto i intend to hold onto. I paid fees to buy all that crypto. On Robinhood, i don't pay fees. If you look at it as simply an investment like a stock, would you be more comfortable with it.

Cash App recently raised their fees by a LOT. They are equal with Coinbase now...... WA WA
It can take hours just to get bitcoin and move it out to a hardware wallet
Coinbase Pro can be a great place to get low fees if you can get limit orders in
@@Hashoshi4 , thanks :) I agree, the wait times are ridiculous ...in this day and age when Venmo can send immediate money to your account, not to mention the instantaneous nature of cypto, the business that coinbase is in!! Unacceptable.
Just do it with Coinbase pro
Cash app charges way more than Coinbase I put $100 into bitcoin through Cash App and my actual investment was $92. I’ve also bought crypto on Coinbase and pay their five dollar fee which isn’t as bad but my best experience with buying bitcoin was on Robinhood
Ironically - since I made this video, the fee game has changed. I’m working on a follow up
I'm tired of buying, I want to start selling lol :)

@@MDALAM-yf1xr You can buy on coinbase, or on cashapp like hes explained in the video.
Mark Price Dude the fundamentals are strong... just hold.
why? wealth is never made over short term, unless you are extremely lucky. build it over 10-20 years and retire early instead
This is a great point - thanks for bringing it to my attention. What is your withdrawal limit if you don't mind me asking?
@@Hashoshi4 Sq Cash allows you to buy $100K of bitcoin now per week (at least it says that in my app)...but only allows $2K per day withdrawal and a max of $5K per week. That's insane. You can't even withdrawal 1 bitcoin for at least 2 weeks after buying. They need to get with the times and price changes. They are doing this on purpose to hold your bitcoin and money instead of allowing the customer to send to their personal wallet for security. Not your Keys...Not your Bitcoin.
Thanks this helped a bunch! Didnt know you could purchase bitcoin cashapp. So easy :)
Super easy! and instantaneous so you can move to hardware wallet immediately :) thanks!!

Thanks my friend! Yes totally agree, I mentioned a couple options for Canada and EU, but there are so many countries that need to be supported. Abra is indeed my go-to to recommend to folks in the Philippines. Fun fact: my grandfather is from Luzon :)

For all intents and purposes, you're right if comparing fees alone, but it's a more niche crowd that will do it that way and you lose out on potentially better prices if you don't have a funded account in Coinbase Pro IMO
Thanks for your comment, I really do appreciate and welcome contrarian opinions and feedback. However, I would please ask that you omit accusations, for example, that I have not done research. Everything I say on this channel has a reason and substantiation. I may not always be right, but I have always done my research in earnest and take a side for a reason.
I agree! And if you don't want to make long bank transactions to coinbase pro account, use Binance platform and deposit with credit card.👌
Hey I’m new to all of this have a few questions
Apart from security what are the reasons for using a hard wallet what is the benefit
With a hardware wallet, you have a secure device made for storing these sensitive pieces of information :)
There are plenty of user friendly options out there too like the Ledger or Trezor
if you have further questions, please email me at info@hashoshi.com I will be there to help
