Great informative video. This was a show in the middle of the Covid epidemic last year so participation was light. In 2021 there were 128 Fieros there. The LS4 is a nice swap with great HP potential but not easy to do. With mods this engine really requires a "built" 4T65eHD automatic transmission. The black 87GT Fiero with the 3800SC supercharged intercooled engine, 4T65eHD and C4 tail lights is mine. Its not a difficult swap and IMO it looks like it belongs. One guy on You Tube ran a 9 sec 1/4 mile with it.
I believe that Kodiak Marine, Mercury, OMC and Indmar have backing plates that adapt over to tranny side starter relocation for port and to starboard side mounting options, or in this case, front and rear.
That's what I have planned for my 87 fiore GT. I'm going to use the starter mount from fieroguru. I plan to install this on my guitar 5-speed. Eventually I will upgrade to a F-40 six speed.
There is a guy on youtube who sells a custom oil pan that locates the starter along the pan, called "LS4 king". Having that starter on the shown bellhousing location might complicate things, especially if you have to do the exhaust routing on the chassis.
If you really, really need to put an all aluminum LS4 into a rear wheel drive chassis (like a Triumph GT6 with a 5 speed stick shift)... You can assemble one by doing this... ua-cam.com/video/-USY3ubm6sE/v-deo.html
Stock ones hold up fine with stock engines, but when you start modding the engines the trans take a nose dive. You can build them up pretty well to suit your needs as it's pretty much a 4l60 turned sideways
Its gotta be a 60 degree v6 GM bellhousing. I know the getrag 282 uses it, idk about any other. Although it's best to use the 4t65ehd trans that comes with the LS4 as i'm sure it makes more than enough power to rip a stock fiero trans apart aswell as there being more than enough swap kits for the trans and doesnt require and special clutch or flexplates.

I love the look of the Vette taillights 👍
Beautiful. I would kill myself with this behind me, but goddamn would that be fun till I found the tree.

LS4King has a 4T80 kit which is a HD Cadillac trans.

The starter is on the other side on a traditional LS I wish it was on that side 👍🏻

@@JohnSmith-pl2bk I ended using a aluminum LM4 this is interesting all the same
Great video Riley 👍👍👍👍
what company makes the kit?????
Did you happen to get the guys number that had the built LS4 and cradle on the trailer?
No sorry
looks like something a page called pickards performance would of done hes on facebook
That's my engine being done by Gary Pickardt of Pickardt 2P. He's posted plenty of other photos and some videos on Facebook.
Should have been painted vintage Pontiac blue.
Was there any down there with a 3.4 swap
Not that I saw.
The conversion is extremely expensive.
How well do the 4t65es hold up in the Fieros?

@@TheSamplebridge How and who can you get a built up 4t60 from? Is there an option to get a posi in one?
@@w41duvernay I'm not sure. I'm sure the 3800sc guys would know. And I'm pretty sure they make aftermarket posi diffs.
@@w41duvernay they make a lsd differential for the 4t65ehd
You could have made the video better by also showing it installed in one of the Fieros there.
Will an ls4 work with any stock fiero trans?

@@TheSamplebridge I just wish it wasn’t automatic
No alternator?
Not on this mockup. The alternator would mount at the rear head.
