    Decided to opt for the Shoei Neotec 2 for my new helmet as I wanted a flip up style with the built in drop down sun visor. The helmet has been designed to work in conjunction with the Sena Bluetooth communication system. Managed to pair the helmet to the Goldwing and I am quite impressed with the ease of use and sound quality.

      yeah thats the downside of the neotec 2. I am not going to spend $300 on a communication system for it and they don't make anything other than the sena SRL to fit the speaker holes. I've looked everywhere. So now i'm forced to buy a HJC IS max 2 so i can get a cheaper comm system. Neotec 2 can kiss my ass for making the speaker holes too small.

    Thanks for the review. I just bought one, in white as well. I wish they had a neon yellow one in 3xl or I would have bought it. As I'm getting older I'm not interested in a cool looking helmet but one that can be seen a mile away!

    Cruiseman's Garage: Thanks! After watching your video I have decided to buy the HJC IS-MAX II Helmet. I had a HJC helmet in the past and I liked it very much. Therefore, my decision to buy it is based on my past experience and your review.

    I bought this helmet in white a couple weeks ago. I also have the IS 33, which took quite awhile to get comfortable. The IS Max2 is going to take awhile to break in too. I was surprised how quiet this helmet is. My IS 33 is a Medium. I had to get the IS Max2 in Large.

    I've always liked HJC helmets as well. Fair price and made with quality materials. Motocrosss, Dual sport to touring they've got ya covered.

    I have a Schuberth E1, I've had several Shoei full face and modular, and I prefer wearing the HJC IS Max 2 as a daily helmet. Its light enough, comfortable, and the inner shield lever isn't on the left hand side where we mount a comm unit. Its a winner. I'm picking up my second one today and my only dilemma is which color to get this time. i had to check out your review on the white version, it looks good.

    A very well done review. Although I just purchased a RPHA 90, your review shows how much helmet you get when when buying HJC. Thanks...I'm subscribed!

    I agree white helmets might be the most visible. Long time ago before I started riding I was driving along and this white pinprick way in the distance caught my eye, which turned out to be a helmet. Could not even see the bike at that distance. So I've always gotten white helmets

    I've used a clear pinlock insert. It's great for not fogging. Great in rain. At night you do get some halo's from light reflections. Trade offs

    My next helmet is either a Arai or Shoei. I ride in all conditions except snow and I am hoping the Shoei is very comfortable, or at least more comfortable than my Bell. I love the pop down sun visor in my Bell so I'll be looking for that feature in my next helmet.

    Thank you so much. That was a great detailed video. I’m in the process of switching from a 3/4 to a modular helmet. I’m hearing a lot of good things from this helmet and was debating Shoei, Schuberth, or something more affordable. I think you may’ve convinced me to order one. Probably wise to not have the first modular a $1000 helmet. Thx again

    Sorry, but I don’t understand why when you ride a$30k Goldwing you would purchase an entry level helmet? Not just for safety reasons but for upgraded features! I do however Love the Goldwing and would like to purchase one in the future, love your channel.

    I'm going with white, not for visibility or safety, but for the same reason I only buy white cars/trucks. Here in the humid hot south where I live, leaving a helmet in the sun for a few minutes will burn your hands putting it back on.

    Thanks for that, great helmet for the price. I'm also looking at a caberg duke 2, in the same price bracket with similar features.

      Love the IS MAX2, received it today, fits my head very comfortable and much lighter than my other HJC. And it keeps out the air , so I hear my radio much better. Feel like I have a 700.00 helmet for $200.00 HJC has been around a long time, so they know what they’re doing!!

    are the modular helmets smaller than regular ff helmets in sizing? according to the charts they are.

    I know it's more expensive, but did you consider the HJC, RPHA 90? Sorry, I just saw your reply regarding the RPHA 90, below.
    Thanks

    I have a HJC cL max modular helmet. Was thinking about getting the IS max2, your video may have made my decision easier. One more question for ya, as for my goldwing, I’m wondering if you could give me your opinion on either Dunlop E4, or the Bridgestone G704/G709? Thanks cruiseman!!

    • @cruisemansgarage
      @cruisemansgarage  5 років тому +1

      I have always preferred Bridgestone over Dunlop

    does it have enough vents? it looks like there isn't going to be much air flow... you know how these summers are in Texas. I need air flow.

    • @cruisemansgarage
      @cruisemansgarage  5 років тому +1

      It has a nice vent in the chin bar and a small inlet on top of the helmet with two fairly large vents in the back. Have not had a hot enough day here in Dallas to really put it to the test.

    The UK has a FAR superior testing regimen (the DOT 'standard' dates back to 1973 and has been obsolete for years - they do not even test helmets, they allow the makers to self test..) The UK S.H.A.R.P. testing rates this helmet very highly - on a level with the 'premium' brands.
