- Enjoy a selection of Canadian Dodge Mopar also known as Plodge being a mix of Plymouth and Dodge.
These sculptures on wheels were designed by the great Virgil Exner at Chrysler Corporation.
The Flight-Sweep design of these rare cars definitely deserve much more exposure. Having the look of a jet aircraft, these cars are real sculptures on wheels.
Thank you for watching! - Авто та транспорт
The perfect choice for the right car collector who loves the Dodge and Plymouth of these years, with these cars that combines both. I never knew about them before. Thanks Ford Torino 72!
Thank you for your comment. These are extremely rare even up north in Canada. You rarely see any of them at car shows.
some nice old survivors and some that need love very cool
Thanks man for watching the video 👍 I’m in love with those old Rare Canadian Dodge. They deserve way more exposure!
I bought a 1953 Dodge Regent four door, about two months ago, in central California... Made in Windsor, Ontario... Basically a Plymouth Cranbrook from the firewall back, with a Dodge front clip... Good thing though, its nearly flawless exterior and interior... 230-6 flathead... Firestone wide whitewalls... Four wing vents plus the pop up front vent... No cracked nor chipped glass... No rust nor holes in any floorboards... Traded a Jeep CJ with a busted transfer case for this extra cool classic ...
Beautiful cars!!!
Glad you like them!
Amazing! It's the first time since my childhood sixty-five years ago I was ever aware of them! It's like daddy Dodge and Mama Plymouth got together and this was the child.! Or if you liked both Dodge and Plymouth you could fulfill both your desires! Maybe they also should have made them with a Plymouth front end and a Dodge rear end for varieties sake and you could choose your favorite, crazy!! Personally I liked the American models of Dodge for those years just the way they were! THANK YOU!!!
Love your comment. Daddy Dodge and Mama Plymouth is just fantastic! Thanks for watching :)
Canadian Pontiacs were similar, they looked almost like American Pontiacs but had Chevy interiors and drivetrains.
I like the Desoto lineup in these years. The 59 is classy. The bumpers on the Dodge I can't handle so much.
The '59 is definitely a masterpiece.
All cars need larger Tail Fins. It's a matter of aerodynamics. Makes perfect sense to me...
It was a functional styling. They are beautiful because they are simple, perfectly proportioned forms that have purposeful direction and stability. Thanks for watching 👍
Here in Australia Chrysler were assembling Dodge, Plymouth and Desoto models together. By then though those cars were proving to be too expensive to compete with what Holden and Ford Australia had on offer. They came up instead with the Chrysler Royal. A car with the mid body section of 1955 Plymouth models with unique front and rear styling, it was still too expensive but the police loved it because of it's V8 power. The start of assembly of the Plymouth Valiant saved the day for them and they went on to great profitability. One American car remained though. Positioned as a top line model, The Plymouth Fury (badged as a Dodge Pheonix) was assembled along side Valiants's, Dodge trucks and Mitsubishi sourced small cars.
Thanks for watching and for your explication 👍
Just a Plymouth, a Plymodge.
Mines at 1:26 thats awesome! Shes all running good and bumper is straight , good video 😊
Thanks for the comment. Enjoy that fabulous car of yours :)
Perfect i have mayfair 58 sedan ❤
These pictures answered the question I had about the '57 model tail lights. They appear to be the same as the '57 US Plymouth models.
Absolutely. Only the front end differs from the Plymouth.
IT IS A PLYMOUTH WITH A DODGE GRILLE !
1:54! Christine give herself a new frontal look.
👍🏻💯🇦🇺
Theres Canadian made plodges in Cuba. A 4dr 57 plymouth hardtop with a 57 Desoto front end. No way that was made anywhere else but in Canada - So called 'Diplomat'
Thanks for the information and for watching.
That would have been put together from two cars later. In 1957 all Chrysler cars (Chrysler, DeSoto, Dodge, and Plymouth) other than the Imperial were based on the same basic body so mixing and matching is possible.
But....At 2:35 we see a speedometer that goes to 120. That works out to 74 mph-?
120 is mph. Metric system came to Canada only in 1975. Thanks for watching and noticing that.
So I guess that up in Canuckistan...."Christine" became "Christieane"...
