From what I can see in the video the top tape does not connect to the plastic at all. Just the lip is catching the top seam. Is that correct ?

The tape on the top angled edge does not make complete contact with the plastic trim. It may only have minimal contact, but even this slight touch can enhance the mount's grip within the dashboard seams. Thank you!
