I really enjoyed the bit of editing that highlighted all the wipes. Online you often only see the successful run, and that contributes a bit to the idea that you simply can't do it if the first 3 pulls don't succeed. Persistence is vastly underrated, especially in PUGs or groups that are learning so it was good to get an idea of just how many attempts were made.

This series is great. It showcases the power of a shot-caller though!

This is entertaining and educational, I like the mechanics explanation to new players, the newbie traps and how to avoid them, and how to assess your errors. I think every new player should watch both series at some point.
Now I need to make a joke: In the first 5 minutes in the video I learned that as a new player you gotta find a training group and leech them LMAO

I tend to find training runs ( since I rarely have any desire to pve ) and Just heal them, since I generally have some concept of the fight, but its been so long I've likely forgotten at least one or more parts of it. As a healer, since healing is pretty automatic for me, I can just focus on hp bars and moving with the group. Easily re-learning the mechanics as we go. That being said, i've stuck to strikes since the raid LFG's are confusing with all the abbrvs. and thats if you can even find one that doesn't say "experienced players only" to begin with. I have some experience but its been like 5 years for most of them. So I'd hardly consider myself experienced. If I really wanted to raid on a frequent basis I could join one of the many raid discords, but as its usually just a spur of the pve moment thing for me, its hardly worth it. And makes more sense to just jump in the discord whatever particular group I run into happens to be using.

50:08 I remember that red bomb so clearly, I was a bit zoomed in and dodge rolled backwards completely unaware of them coming back from cannon.. didnt even notice that I nuked them at first

Haven't done a raid yet but can't wait to try them. Just got through all the strikes for the first time. Followed teapot's advice and created groups and it wasn't so bad. Half the people never did one before and we didn't wipe on the easy 3 for each expansion

u can use FF but with blue or green equipment to help the raiding; ur impact will be less, but u will not be a shore to the 10-man challenge

    Hello @MightyTeapot,
I've got hooked with GW2 again by watching your series. I'm enjoying it so far and I currently try to catch up to the newest episode. As of now, im maining a reaper but this one gets a bit boring now. So now I want to try a guardian with your build. Could you explain me, which build are you using and which skills are swapable to adapt to the various encounters? And most importantly, which roles I could fit with this build (in hinsight of lfg requests). Thanks in advance! You are amazing!

Since you obviously won't get all those questions answered in a UA-cam comment, I suggest you just go and read the guides on Snowcrows and Hardstuck. He is playing a support Firebrand build for most of the series but depending on what's needed, he swaps to a more damage or healing oriented setup. Since it's Teapot and he has inconceivably much experience, he switches freely depending on what skills are needed in a certain situation. Most guides will give you a basic build and add what can be swapped if you need more CC. To become as flexible as him you just need to play your class for a long time and know all the ins and outs of your skills by heart. At some point you won't be dependent on premade builds anymore, but that takes a long time. Guides are a starting point and everything else is experience.

Wing 1 deserves a rework or CMs where you actually have to the mechanics on VG and Gorse.

You know its funny. Taking them along the strike mission path and helping them with gearing has perfectly set the group up to be able to learn mechanics on the fly. This should be advised in game with mails that push people towards completing it this way. Even prompts asking you to ask a friend or check out meta builds on external websites would be helpfull for new players.
An in game dps meter would do wonders for the game and help with self improvement.
