This game and amazing soundtrack is quickly growing on me. I was a little too hard on the game at first because I grew up playing the series and I felt that it had been changed too much from what I grew up playing but hell, it's been 30 years, it had to be somewhat modernized from the older games, it has to appeal to the younger people as well as us old guys. Needless to say, I've been playing it with more of an open mind and I have a ton more appreciation for this game now. It's a damn good addition to the series even if the art style takes some getting used to. The music is a work of art in itself
crimsontide1980 I agree. I think the soul of the game is the same as the originals (1&2- I didn’t play 3 much), and I’m finding that, like the originals, the more you play, the more you discover. Example: when I first accidentally landed on my feet playing SOR 2 after being thrown by the annoying Y Signal, I almost lost it! Lol! In this installment, my friend discovered that you can land on your feet even after being hit. I thought this was a great addition and helps you re-engage so much quicker.
Olivier Derivier is ridiculous. I hope he gets the chance to work on some really high-profile stuff soon; he has been putting out great music for forever, and deserves more recognition.
You're damn right! The whole track is awesome though because it mixes different feelings. From the beginning to 1:38 it conveys the idea of power by building a tune which gets stronger (as if a winning bodybuilder was about to come surrounded by flashing lights of victory). From 1:38 on then there's that echoed whisteling that adds an "adventurous" flavor, like exploring a new land far away full of green grass or a seaside at sunset in an elegant fashion. It's so beautiful!
Streets of Rage 2 is still the top soundtrack for me, but damned if this soundtrack isn't a close second. This has got to be my favorite track in the game though.
I can almost feel the punches on the face of the thugs in this track! It's just so intense and funky that I don't really know if the name of the game should be Streets of Rage or Streets of Groove
Have to disagree with a lot of people here: the first half of this track kills the second half. That’s probably comes from me growing up in the 90’s though. Still, wouldn’t change this track at all.
i know im not the only one who heard how dope sick this record is.... omg that drop tho...then let it bang heavy... then it just taks off on SS Status!
now im imagining the plot to a streets of rage show, that somehow interconnects to the other plot i imagined about a hotline miami movie with ryan gosling as jacket
Can someone please tell me what genre of music is this? This is similar to the "Port City" track from the "My Name" series. I like them and would like to find more of this kind of music.
Whoever came up with the idea of making the music dynamic is somebody I want to hug
You mean Olivier?

That change at 1:12...🔥🔥 love this track and stage! 💪🏾
Rob Monroe between Stage 2 and 3 The soundtrack just too lit

Fredo Rosè no doubt, to this day, I still listen to the soundtracks. Especially some of the tracks from Streets of Rage V5 Remake OST.
Hell yeah, that flip at 1:12 and throughout the beat was great
I came here for 1:12 to 1:40 the masterpiece of this soundtrack, ty
Big ben laughing at me :
Me, when 1:40 arrives : LISTEN HERE YO LITTLE SHIT
Those fat fucks are such a pain to kill.
The transitions from dub step to I'm going to say hard style is just 🔥🔥🔥
More like acid house but close!
Sublime!
It is
Psytrance?
and hard moment of the game in mania mod!

He certainly deserves it 👏
he is! he is doing some big time cpu game. forgot which.skyrim type i think
Well, now he’s doing Dying Light 2, which is on a the other side of the music spectrum, but I have high hopes
So do i
Hes currently on A Plagues Tale and killing it.
This is truly a masterpiece.
The melody and beat from 1:12 to 1:38 is just killer!
The way he changed the dub timing is really creative
Love the Old Boy corridor fight homage on this stage. Whether intentional or not!
Old Boy?
@@rellmonshade3241 a very good Korean movie (not the western remake)
You should check it out, definitely worth the time
I felt that too lol good one
I didn t feel like it was a homage, but now that you mention it, i cannot unsee that
They changed the Donovan pipe to a hammer in the corridor in a recent patch haha
At 1:40 this song and entire soundtrack finally becomes the awesome streets of rage soundtrack I was waiting for.
I know what you are looking for....1:38 that shit always gets me hyped.
Actually I'm here for 1:12 but this whole thing is a jam
Big Ben blowing that 🔥 🔥
that part had me snapping, i dropped the controller and started body poppin

My favourite song. Absolutely love it
It gets even better with Francis' Triple Jump Kick. Timeless XD!!!
Same here.
I love how he starts off with new school then brings it back to SORs more fast-paced older school vibes. 👍
This music is really good!
2:03 This part always hypes me up 💪🏽🔥👊🏽
If you use headphones the beginning goes so darn hard 🔥🔥🔥🔥
This is the type of music we want to hear from SOR game.. perfect.
Man I wish they played the SOR4 album at work. Might just sneak into the office and add this song onto the playlist myself lol
1:39 the most legendary part
The build up to the final drop 2:44 💥💥💥
I love the transition from slow but hard dubstep to that beautiful running beat. I fucking love this game and its soundtrack.
Olivier Deriviere i can say with confidence the soundtrack to this game is PERFECT. Great Job My Friend..... top 3 OST of all time
One of the greatest stage themes I have heard in 30 years 🙌
1:40 gave me the chills
1:12-1:38, love the part, its so powerful, love the bass, when i play it in my car, just love the whole track and album, SOR forever!!!😊☺😎
Easily my favourite track in game, this guys track adds so much to the feel of the game superb work!!!
It makes me feel meeting friends on the streets of the 90's
Mano!!
INSANA!!!!

Imagine if Streets of rage 2 had dynamic music just like SOR4
I have one thing to say about this track : OMFG it's incredible!!!! I love it!!!
The beginning makes me think of cyborg pirates. Like the dark side of Treasure Planet lol
I always thought of futuristic pirates, myself. Like, I could hear this in pirates of the Caribbean 2065
Amazing job. My favorite. A compliation of my memories playing SOR1 and 2 in Mega Drive.
I can almost feel the punches on the face of the thugs in this track! It's just so intense and funky that I don't really know if the name of the game should be Streets of Rage or Streets of Groove
Soundtrack hype asf
Never thought I would hear a beat drop in a movie/game go as hard as the Blade club scene music...I was wrong.
Whole game is masterpiece and this music make feel to replay and replay this game
1:38 glowsticks out, time to body pop!
You know what's crazy? SoR3's music was experimental right? In a way can 1:23 be seen as a homage to back then?
I just love the second half of the tune. Can't stop listening to it.
Have to disagree with a lot of people here: the first half of this track kills the second half. That’s probably comes from me growing up in the 90’s though. Still, wouldn’t change this track at all.
1:12 and onwards is where it's at... that beat used at 1:12 is just pure gold and then how they capitalize off it is just A1
I agree, the first half has a lot more of personality
Gotta appreciate its evolution from 90s to now its incredibly well done
Agreed
Same here bro.
Holy shit what a fucking masterpiece. Pure fire.
Thumbs up for the 1:12 solo part ;)
ALRIGHT I just had to comment...this song is legit amazing, basically the best song in this game in my opinion
I love this
1:38 When the storm really hits!

Makes me wanna fight.
Not often I hear dubstep in 3/4
I hear a 6/8 personally

This is the Streets of Rage Anthem on that part 1:12------1:37
Why do all the boat stage songs in these games hit the hardest. This and the boat song from SoR 1(stage 5) are the best.
Remindes me of slow moon for streets of rage 2
