Her mom is lazy, she doesn't take care of her own hair. She knows dam well how to take care of black hair, her mom. They were in the states a few months back and bought all those black products but don't use them.

@@Makingthemarks Definitely agree with starting with flat twists and eventually learning to cornrow. A flat twist involves all the fundamentals of cornrowing. I can cornrow and do a 3 strand flat twist after doing a 2 strand flat twists on my hair.
Props to Minji for being so patient and putting up with the pain when they were first oiling her hair. and props to Dad for learning how to braid in one sitting! I'm Black and my husband is White and I'll always be proud of him for volunteering to do both our girls' hair. It was an accomplishment. It would take him a while but he got the job done. Rianna is very good at teaching hair care Black and Mixed hair.

I’m so thankful for this content. The format feels genuine and respectful. Growing up biracial with parents who couldn’t do my hair felt like hell. I finally feel confident doing it with out paying over $100 to a stylist every time I needed help…. I’ve lost career opportunities many times because my hair was considered unprofessional (even after being styled 😅) and it used to sadden me. Taking an hour or more to work with my hair, and then having to monthly pay for expensive hair products just to walk in society sucks some days but I feel thankful to finally have come to a place of peace. Although commercials feature Afros and different textures more liberally, there are still social connotations that need to be worked on. Thanks again from Seattle for continuing! Love to see the younger generations being embraced so lovingly ❤

@bijouruby1075 Yes. And she's actually *5 years old* (for those of us in the West and other places). Koreans (as do some other countries) add an extra year to their ages. At birth, they count it as 1 year old and not as 0, like we do.
Yeah, my bestie has to cut out like six hours to get her hair braided with extensions, and when she was 3 and 4 her big sisters would braid her hair and deck it out with cute beads, and that also took hours. She has always been a patient person, so it wasn't too hard on her, but it must be so tough for an energetic kid to sit still for ages😭😭😭

God this is the cutest thing I've ever seen. It's rare for dads to know how to do their girls' hair, and it's rare for non-black people to know how to do curly hair, AND it's really hard to find stylists for curly hair in Korea. This is such a fantastic combination, and a great opportunity for dad!

i find it so, so sweet that this father wanted to learn how to style his daughter's hair. both of my parents are adopted korean and my father still put no effort into helping me maintain healthy hair as a kid. koreans are often very traditional so our fathers may be cold and emotionally absent. this man has healed my inner child with his willingness to learn and obvious adoration for his gorgeous baby
I definitely think this was ambitious. I probably would’ve started with like braided ponytails. But he did really well for the first time. Big props for seeing it through. ❤️❤️❤️😊😊
This is so cute! Just seeing the dad try his best, just attempting is nice to watch. It becomes a great bonding time with your child. As a kid my older sister always did my hair because both of my parents worked. I never had these type of memories with my parents, not even my mom. It makes me a little regretful.

As children we learned to braid by taping three strings (like wool) to the table. Made friendship bracelets and such from it 😊

i find it so, so sweet that this father wanted to learn how to style his daughter's hair. both of my parents are adopted korean and my father still put no effort into helping me maintain healthy hair as a kid. koreans are often very traditional so our fathers may be cold and emotionally absent. this man has healed my inner child with his willingness to learn and obvious adoration for his gorgeous baby

This is so cute! Just seeing the dad try his best, just attempting is nice to watch. It becomes a great bonding time with your child. As a kid my older sister always did my hair because both of my parents worked. I never had these type of memories with my parents, not even my mom. It makes me a little regretful.
