I am a bengali. I haven’t understood a single word of this song. But, the song soothes my soul, calms my tired and broken heart. It brings tears out of my eyes. Yesterday, I watched the hindi version of the film, '96. Actually, I relived my school days and first love again in that two hours. Now, I'm going to watch the tamil version. Though, I wouldn’t understand a single dialogue again and I have to follow the subtitles. But, I want to feel the essence of the film, I want to breathe into Ram and Janu in that two and half hours. And, I feel no dubbed version can provide that smell of a film.

I don’t have a habit of seeing any movie more than once. But this movie has gone through my bones & I have lost count of how many times I have watched this one. Best performances by both Trisha & VS. Hats off to the producer. Music is incredible.

The beauty of this entire film lies in its subtleness .Every emotion is played to perfection, almost as if you are living the character. There is not one scene in the film where it felt like the emotions were forced or overdone. The songs and the background score are the backbone of this film, each song and every note piercing through your heart. Shows that you can make the most romantic film of the year without the hero screaming I love you in every other scene or delivering corny dialogues that want to make you crawl into a hole. There were scenes wherein the lead characters did not say a word, but made you feel a million different things, taking you through this emotional roller coaster. IF THAT'S NOT TALENT, THEN I DON'T WHAT IS. I don't think I can put into words the amount of appreciation I have for this kind of film making and this film in particular.
