Yeah I think far too many people are viewing alteration as just a combo piece, it's definitely a good way to end the game but in the early game they should be used for control
@@percyvile Yeah - it's not even that powerful combo with this particular combo - just a two mana removal - and not really better than what black has anyway... But definitely not useless without the combo.. One should probably have small creatures and powerful creatures with it .. say Spirited Companion and Leonin Warleader - so you can turn opponents creatures to weenies or your weenies to winners... If you happen to have a body without summoning sickness you can get a good creature that can attack immediately with it as long as there's a good one on the table... Could be great with There and Back Again" .. Smaug is legendary so you lose the original Smaug (if it's yours) - but get 14 treasure tokens... :O (Or do you? I'm not 100% sure if being put into graveyard due to the legend rule count as dying...)
From what I’ve seen most lists run at least one, just cause it’s so good to be able to have a removal spell and a counter spell stapled on the same card.
So, Grixis Midrange, with a combo eject button slotted into it. I'd actually be really interested to see how this lines up with Best of 3, where you can tailor your sideboard specifically for UW Control and Rakdos Sacrifice. This basic strategy (fair grindy deck with a combo flourish to end games out of nowhere) is traditionally very powerful, and the exact type of thing I routinely see going 4-1 or 5-0 in MTGO Legacy Leagues on the Bosh n Roll channel. I think it's worth exploring further.
(10:03) Alright, there's the killer combo in action! (23:56) DOUBLE KILL!! Oh, that was hilarious! I'm glad I got a playset of 4 Archfiends of the Dross very early on while they were still cheap (under half a buck each), and then when I saw someone mention in the chat of a different MtG stream about comboing him with Metamorphic Alteration, that gave me a good laugh, and then I checked what the price of Metamorphic Alteration was at a local store... Oh, only 35 cents each? Sure, I'll take four! And I'm really happy I did, seeing how Metamorphic Alteration has now spiked to over $4! (And yep, I've won multiple games using this combo already.)
Nevermind, I never realized you could tap Mutivault to activate itself, and then that allows double Fatal Pushes to get rid of the opponents Alteration Dross before his upkeep.
The explorer version can't run dig though time and loses a lot of consistency, likewise people are holding alterations that they could be using for removal/damage
Because he’s a good entertainer. He’s an excellent host, and his decks are more competitive than Seth’s, which opens the channel up to a wider audience. Congrats on being both an idiot AND an asshole
"If I draw the answer to a mayhem devil" Did you know that you can turn Mayhem Devil into a cat with Metamorphic Alteration you had in your hand

it's an enchantment without flash, so they would've been screwed if the opponent was popping off

@@Jawzah Dying is defined in the rules as being put into a graveyard from the battlefield, so the legend rule does count as dying
@@danl9030 Cool - Double Smaug is go... Dunno if it's competitive though 5 mana saga that takes time to take full effect and all..
Crim had to sneak in drown in the loch, didn't he?

It good magic card
Crim: "Guys, check out this sweet combo!"
*just plays grixis control*
Grixis is a lifestyle
@@0Whitelottus0it’s not just a deck archetype, it’s a mindset. In this case, it’s also the archetype

First time seeing your content on the channel, and I loved the fast pace style commentary with it a lot!

And Corpse Appraiser.

I saw last week out of knowhere that Metamorphic alteration went from 5kr to 70kr in swedish currency witch is like 0,3 euro to 6,3 euro
Makes me glad I got my playset of Metamorphic Alteration for just 35 cents each when I first learned of this combo.
Love the content Crim!
What am I missing at 2:35? I feel like he could have played both the Dross and Alteration on Gloomshrieker, pass turn, and opponent dies, no?
Probably just playing around instant speed removal since opp had mana up
Nevermind, I never realized you could tap Mutivault to activate itself, and then that allows double Fatal Pushes to get rid of the opponents Alteration Dross before his upkeep.
Thought sneeze
How lucky against uw control :D I played 5 times against a deck like yours and never lost so far. Very nice to see how it could go

Your audio has artifacts. You should have a look at that.
You can’t naturally win on turn four. You’re opponent has to have a creature. How is this Splinter twin?
This deck is utter poop I've never seen it win before this video

Can you try to tone down the cringe?
Cringe is his lifestyle. 😎
Great this blue haired sjw again we want Seth!
He hasn't new ideas and play only someone else invented deck. Why do they keep him on this work in mtggoldfish - i don t understand.

I glad I could see that combo in action. What are you talking about?
he's the first person to play it on UA-cam
Crim is entertaining and does a lot of the psudo-meta content, Seth does the kooky brews
Awww poor baby doesn't have his own channel 😢 boohoo
