They are lovely boats now, but miss having a proper café to sit down and eat in, unless I missed it twice last month on the same ferry! The food is extortionate now. Couldn't understand people laying out £15 a time for an average sized pizza, and overpriced bagged hot food in the essentially unmanned food areas. Must have raked in the money on the jam packed ferry back from Calais! Luckily we ate only a slightly overpriced roll in the DFDS building whilst waiting to board the ferry that evening. Only thing I buy on the ferries is coffee. Duty free stores ok, but people mustn't buy as much beer as 30 years ago when it was proper Duty Free with the ridiculous limits people had on cigarettes and alcohol back then as they don't stock much now. That said, for £39 return during the summer for a day trip, can't argue really. Loved having days out in France that I'd not done for over a decade. Interesting thing is I've never had to pay a penny in car parking when visiting Calais or Boulogne as the authorities supply so many spaces at no cost whatsoever. Bargain compared to the £3.50 an hour in my local city centre!
Hi. Thanks for watching! I was permitted boarding before everyone else so I could get some interior footage for this video. A blog can be found at www.a2bviasea.co.uk
I haven't sailed with P&O for some time now, they used to be my first choice ferry company going back to the Townsend Thoreson days, but after they sacked all their ship's crew a couple of years ago, more so the terrible way they did it I've not used them since.
Excellent vlog. Ship looks good - but food lacking, decor very similar throughout, concern seating etc will suffer wea4 and tear quickly, concern about crewing arrangements, and the fact batteries are not properly used and crossing takes 105 minutes, so no time saved berthing despite double ended. Having said that some innovative features, outside decks good and better interior than E flexors.
Innovative design - amazing Club lounge. P&O are pushing the boundaries here. Barcelona chairs too. ❤

The double ended design is more to save energy (better for the environment) rather than saving time
