BANG! You nailed it for me at the end: Praying in the Spirit is not praying in tongues, as not everyone has the gift of tongues. So why would Paul suggest that everyone pray in the Spirit, if only 'some' could comply. You're a breath of fresh air mate, trust me.

      No,
Jesus Chris is Not the Father and Not the Holy Spirit. That is a false doctrine.
Begotten son means a biological son coming directly from the Father. You cannot be the son and the Father at the same time. That is completely illogical in every sense.
When Jesus was praying in the garden you really believe he was praying to Himself? Not misleading at all? Not very schizophrenic like behavior at all? The Bible does not lie.
When Jesus says I and the Father are one, you need to understand metaphorically vs literally. He was one with his Father in essence, in spirit, in unity, in love, and in everything except for the literal. This is common sense. Please reconsider your stance.

@Romans_116 @Romans_116 Do you not know that He is 3 in One? - John 10:30. The Father, The Son and the Holy Spirit. Look at the 3 of Them, Who are They? A Spirit, we are all a spirit. Christ was the One Who prayed to Himself in the garden. The Lord CAN be anything in any form, He is God.
Miracles and signs God can do, He can during times in the bible states what Christ has done that GOD can do. He carries that SAME power. Yet, the authority was given to us by Him He states. Who can give us that power? Only GOD Himself which is The Father God, Jesus Christ. The bible calls Him "Lord" 🤔 so we have "Two" Lords now? The Father God Only should be "Lord" aka, Jesus Christ.

    Very good teaching on tongues.
I have never seen it in the word but in my experience speaking in tongues I can pray and sing much more fluently and fervently in tongues than i can in english. Sometimes even though i don`t understand the exact words i speak i know what or who i am praying for. Sometimes I feel a terrible burden and i am able to i pray in tongues for long periods of time and other times when i feel joy i may only say a few words. I think i speak in many different dialects but i don`t know what they are.

What is praying then if you can't understand it? Fun? Taking your emotions out? If your own spirit is disconnected form your mind when you pray that is very very disturbing to say the least. Sounds to me you need deliverance. Communication with God is just that- connection. If you can not understand what is being said that is the opposite of communication, it's obviously a major disconnection to your own detriment. God would never hide from you behind a language you can not understand. That is a trick that the enemy uses to control you. I hope and PRAY you get over that. I pray with words, not kjnsdjhbsjdcbhdhjbchdcj. Amen.

When I received the gift of speaking in tongues I'll never forget it as long as I live I was driving my car and praying intensely to the father. I have been searching the scriptures and had told the Lord if it be his will I would be so grateful to have any gifts that he would offer me when he gave me the gift of tongues I would ask him what am I saying Lord three times I asked him. Then he allowed me to understand that I was saying praises to Him I asked him this is what I'm doing I am praising you. God said to me yes I know your needs, but I inhabit your praises. From then on I was satisfied that when I pray in tongues I am glorifying him and praising him him. I love the fact that he's giving me this gift it is simply beautiful.

I've never believed that the word groaning in Acts referred to tongues. I see it more as a cry. If you have ever been in a prayer room and heard a people letting out loud wailing or cries. I have had this happen where the Spirit of God is so strong and there is such a burden for things the Spirit brings to you and all you can do is wail without words, your heart or spirit is praying but all you can do is cry for what it is you're praying for.

This a great teaching and i love that you read all the scriptures that relate to tongues and express how you are interpreting them. For me Corinthians shows that togues are just like all the other gifts; something divine, they are the ability to speak a language you have never learnt and don't yourself understand, they are the Spirit aiding you to prau for the things you didn't know you needed to pray for and to pray in the manner you should be praying. Yes it can be in an actual language or a language of angels. The idea that Angels might have thier own language is not unbelievable to me.

  • @Nunu-_985
    @Nunu-_985 2 роки тому +12

The first occurrence of speaking in tongues occurred on the day of Pentecost in Acts 2:1-4. The apostles went out and shared the gospel with the crowds, speaking to them in their own languages: “We hear them declaring the wonders of God in our own tongues!” (Acts 2:11). The Greek word translated tongues literally means “languages.” Therefore, the gift of tongues is speaking in a language a person does not know in order to minister to someone who does speak that language. In 1 Corinthians chapters 12-14, Paul discusses miraculous gifts, saying, “Now, brothers, if I come to you and speak in tongues, what good will I be to you, unless I bring you some revelation or knowledge or prophecy or word of instruction?” (1 Corinthians 14:6). According to the apostle Paul, and in agreement with the tongues described in Acts, speaking in tongues is valuable to the one hearing God’s message in his or her own language, but it is useless to everyone else unless it is interpreted/translated.
A person with the gift of interpreting tongues (1 Corinthians 12:30) could understand what a tongues-speaker was saying even though he did not know the language that was being spoken. The tongues interpreter would then communicate the message of the tongues speaker to everyone else, so all could understand. “For this reason anyone who speaks in a tongue should pray that he may interpret what he says” (1 Corinthians 14:13). Paul’s conclusion regarding tongues that were not interpreted is powerful: “But in the church I would rather speak five intelligible words to instruct others than ten thousand words in a tongue” (1 Corinthians 14:19).
Is the gift of tongues for today? First Corinthians 13:8 mentions the gift of tongues ceasing, although it connects the ceasing with the arrival of the “perfect” in 1 Corinthians 13:10. Some point to a difference in the tense of the Greek verbs referring to prophecy and knowledge “ceasing” and that of tongues “being ceased” as evidence for tongues ceasing before the arrival of the “perfect.” While possible, this is not explicitly clear from the text. Some also point to passages such as Isaiah 28:11 and Joel 2:28-29 as evidence that speaking in tongues was a sign of God’s oncoming judgment. First Corinthians 14:22 describes tongues as a “sign to unbelievers.”
According to this argument, the gift of tongues was a warning to the Jews that God was going to judge Israel for rejecting Jesus Christ as Messiah. Therefore, when God did in fact judge Israel (with the destruction of Jerusalem by the Romans in A.D. 70), the gift of tongues would no longer serve its intended purpose. While this view is possible, the primary purpose of tongues being fulfilled does not necessarily demand its cessation. Scripture does not conclusively assert that the gift of speaking in tongues has ceased.
At the same time, if the gift of speaking in tongues were active in the church today, it would be performed in agreement with Scripture. It would be a real and intelligible language (1 Corinthians 14:10). It would be for the purpose of communicating God’s Word with a person of another language (Acts 2:6-12). It would be in agreement with the command God gave through the apostle Paul, “If anyone speaks in a tongue, two-or at the most three-should speak, one at a time, and someone must interpret. If there is no interpreter, the speaker should keep quiet in the church and speak to himself and God” (1 Corinthians 14:27-28).
It would also be in accordance with 1 Corinthians 14:33, “For God is not the author of confusion, but of peace, as in all churches of the saints.”
God can most definitely give a person the gift of speaking in tongues to enable him or her to communicate with a person who speaks another language. The Holy Spirit is sovereign in the dispersion of the spiritual gifts (1 Corinthians 12:11). Just imagine how much more productive missionaries could be if they did not have to go to language school, and were instantly able to speak to people in their own language. However, God does not seem to be doing this. Tongues does not seem to occur today in the manner it did in the New Testament, despite the fact that it would be immensely useful. The vast majority of believers who claim to practice the gift of speaking in tongues do not do so in agreement with the Scriptures mentioned above. These facts lead to the conclusion that the gift of tongues has ceased or is at least a rarity in God’s plan for the church today.

If tongues were a specific language, why would an interpreter be required? Because the hearer would already understand as it would be in their own language? This is why I personally believe the gift of interpretation is what allows person to understand what is being said...and it is not actually a worldly language. One only hears 'in their own language 'because the Holy Spirit allows them to, not because the tongue is a language. Otherwise, why would you need an interpreter in a public setting? Praying in unknown tongues means satan cannot understand and those who prey on prayer for it's power, cannot understand and draw their power from it...because they do not have the gift of interpretation. This is my personal belief...I belief if God wanted me to speak tongues to someone to tell them am important message, He would 'allow' them to Hear it in their 'own language' if this were not already English, as most people speak English these days anyway. This is my own understanding anyway. Shalom and grace 🙌

Also, we do not know what we need and that is why the Holy Spirit interceedes for us. Therefore, I agree 100% with you. I studied tongues as well. When I attended a church that taught tongues as evidence/ sign that the Holy Spirit is within you. They actually went out in left field with it and I knew someting was wrong about it. Our gifts comes as God gives them utterance. Again, backing up what you are saying.
I get the gift of discernment a lot but it's not a 24/7/365 gift, but rather when the Lord believes I need it. At other times, I get other gifts of the Spirit, but its not something you walk around with it all the time.

God sent His Holy Spirit to His people at Pentecost in order to get the Gospel out to everyone. They were true languages gifted to specific people chosen by God to be sure the truth was spread to the rest of the world. We can’t just start talking gibberish that no one else can understand or interpret and think it’s okay. There were others around the gifted saints who marveled at the fact that they could understand them. It was wonderful. Just focus on speaking to the Lord in the true languages that you know. Jesus didn’t go around breaking into nonsense speeches that no one else understood! Thank the Lord! We would not have understood Him and thus been saved!

I do believe 1 Cor 14:15 does logically go along with the verse from Romans he mentioned. Here’s how it goes: you pray in a tongue while knowing what you are praying in your mind and the Spirit is able to articulate your prayer better than you can and you can pray more effectively, not just for that reason, but doing so also makes your praying more efficient because you don’t have to worry about putting your thought into words, as the Spirit does that for you. The same reason Paul goes right to praising in tongues. Anyone with the joy of the Holy Spirit knows, as Peter wrote, the joy is inexpressible for ourselves, but the Spirit puts our praise to words for us and it makes the joy even greater. I agree mostly with this man’s teaching. I go to a church that doesn’t believe in speaking in tongues, probably, but I do it under my breath as to not freak them out. Though Paul didn’t say I thank God more, he says I thank God I pray in tongues more; he says what he says. He’s not bragging; he’s just encouraging those who do it to do it more (just not in church without interpretation). I definitely don’t believe speaking in tongues is for every believer, but those willing to receive it are more likely to receive the gift if they pray for it.
I do believe tongues often is a heavenly language in many cases, but not all obviously, but why else does Paul talk about doing so in private? The Spirit does help us pray as we pray in tongues and He does occasionally give words of knowledge through praying and/or speaking in tongues.

I was afraid that I was blaspheming the Holy Spirit whenever I spoke in my heavenly language in public and didn’t feel right even at church too because they demand that you speak in your heavenly language and even then it should be lead by the Holy Spirit not commanding someone to do it then it becomes witchcraft.

He that speaks In a foreign (unknown) language is not speaking to the congregation because the church does not understand him, but he speaks with God because only he understands. Howbeit he speaks in mysteries because the church doesn’t know what he’s saying.
If I pray to God in an unknown tongue to a congregation that does not understand my language,,my understanding will go unfruitful because they do not understand what I am praying…how will the church say “Amen” if they do not understand?

I believe the verse referenced, 1 Cor 12:11 where it says “he wills” the ‘he’ is in fact referring to the recipient of the Spirit, NOT the Spirit, not saying a person can have whatever gift they want, but they can request any gift and no gift will be given to them against their will. That’s why Paul is encouraging people to l be aware of, open to, and to pray for gifts. That is why it is “he”, not “He”. The Holy Spirit does not push things on us against our will.

Baptism of Holy Spirit is always accompanied with tangible presence and power. Every time.
Even in Acts 8 when Philip already goes out to Samaria and cast out demons and heal… verse 14-17 they had to send out Peter and John to go lay hands for an activation of the Holy Spirit even after receiving the gospel.
The laying of hands is the same passing on of the upper room in the day of Pentecost where power was activated. The laying hands was a “person to person” passing on power. This is always why the Bible says not to lay hands hastily… to not hastily appoint leaders without vetting them and getting it confirmed by the Holy Spirit.
This is how the anointing is imparted.
The church needs to seek Jesus for this so they can receive power to do the same thing.
This practice got slowed down by the Roman Catholic system that hijacked Christianity.

It is very important that we rightly divide the word of God.
Young man you are a student of the Scriptures. May these comments help guide to a deeper understanding in the word of God.
The important question can be asked: Do all believers speak in tongues?
The answer according to Scripture is yes and no.
Yes all believers speak in tongues when they receive the gift of the Holy Ghost. See John 3:8. "So is everyone" Compare Acts Chapters 2, 10, 19.
Do all believers speak in tongues as the gift of tongues. No. 1 Corinthians 12.
It is important to note context. Paul's letter to the Corinthians was to those already filled with the Holy Ghost who needed understanding of Spiritual Gifts. Not all have the same gifts.
Paul was not addressing those who were to receive the Holy Ghost. They had it.
This is where the confusion comes in. Many want to answer the question with the letter to the church instead of the record of how people were added to the church.
Again in your study look closely at John 3:8 especially looking up the word sound in the Greek.
May God bless us in the study of His word.

The idea of worshiping the Lord “in spirit and truth” comes from Jesus’ conversation with the woman at the well in John 4:6-30. In the conversation, the woman was discussing places of worship with Jesus, saying that the Jews worshiped at Jerusalem, while the Samaritans worshiped at Mount Gerizim. Jesus had just revealed that He knew about her many husbands, as well as the fact that the current man she lived with was not her husband. This made her uncomfortable, so she attempted to divert His attention from her personal life to matters of religion. Jesus refused to be distracted from His lesson on true worship and got to the heart of the matter: “But the hour is coming, and now is, when the true worshipers shall worship the Father in spirit and truth, for the Father seeks such to worship Him” (John 4:23).
The overall lesson about worshiping the Lord in spirit and truth is that worship of God is not to be confined to a single geographical location or necessarily regulated by the temporary provisions of Old Testament law. With the coming of Christ, the separation between Jew and Gentile was no longer relevant, nor was the centrality of the temple in worship. With the coming of Christ, all of God’s children gained equal access to God through Him. Worship became a matter of the heart, not external actions, and directed by truth rather than ceremony.
In Deuteronomy 6:4, Moses sets down for the Israelites how they are to love their God: “You shall love the Lord your God with all your heart and with all your soul and with all your might.” Our worship of God is directed by our love for Him; as we love, so we worship. Because the idea of “might” in Hebrew indicates totality, Jesus expanded this expression to “mind” and “strength” (Mark 12:30; Luke 10:27). To worship God in spirit and truth necessarily involves loving Him with heart, soul, mind and strength.
True worship must be “in spirit,” that is, engaging the whole heart. Unless there’s a real passion for God, there is no worship in spirit. At the same time, worship must be “in truth,” that is, properly informed. Unless we have knowledge of the God we worship, there is no worship in truth. Both are necessary for God-honoring worship. Spirit without truth leads to a shallow, overly emotional experience that could be compared to a high. As soon as the emotion is over, when the fervor cools, the worship ends. Truth without spirit can result in a dry, passionless encounter that can easily lead to a form of joyless legalism. The best combination of both aspects of worship results in a joyous appreciation of God informed by Scripture.
The more we know about God, the more we appreciate Him. The more we appreciate, the deeper our worship. The deeper our worship, the more God is glorified.

I like how you made a comparison between babel and the book of Acts. The people in Babel were of one speech and referred to populate the earth and therefore, God had sent confusion by making them speak multiple languages so they could spread all over the earth and not act in a sinful manner. The building up of the tower of Babel was designed so that satan could be the ruler of the earth, and this was the origin of where religion began (finding alternative ways to please God) but this plan was thwarted by God for good purposes by spreadingthe people across the earth as a result of their disobedience.
Likewise when it came to the disciples in the upper room, God sent the Holy Spirit upon them and they spoke in many tongues (native languages for the unbelieving people who traveled from other countries) to hear and bear witness of the power of God so that they may believe. The only difference is that this was so they could build up on God's church through Jesus. Jesus is the chief cornerstone and Peter is the rock that the church would be built upon. The people from different places came to Jerusalem (this is the bringing into God's kingdom (tower) so that they know the truth and they could pass it on to their own tribes, nations and tongues (languages).
The Israelites were in denial of believing in the power of the Lord and needed convincing (they still do to this day). That's why they kept on asking for signs. In the end of the tribulation the Israelites will confess that Jesus is Lord after they recognize and realize that they have pierced them through their ancestors.
One day those who are in Christ will be gathered up and be a part of the multitudes (from all nations, tribes and tongues) in the kingdom of heaven to worship the one true living God.
Well spoken on this subject. It was very thorough. There is so much confusion over this topic regarding speaking in tongues.
This is a common mistake in the pentecostal/charismatic churches. They believe that you ha ce to speak in tongues in order to experience the glory of God.

    In this verse below, Paul clearly distinguishes that there IS a difference between speaking in the tongues of man (ie, foreign languages) and the tongues of Angels;
“If I speak with the tongues of men and of angels, but do not have love, I have become a noisy gong or a clanging cymbal.”
    - 1 Corinthians 13:1
Yes, both types of “tongues”CAN be defined as “languages,” but you can’t undoubtedly presume that “speaking in tongues” doesn’t include the spiritual gift of speaking in an Angelic PRAYER language (tongues) that only God can understand thru the Holy Spirit.
Sure, it’s not as commonly mentioned or even fully defined in the Bible, but you also CANNOT just dismiss it based on your own subjective decision to not believe in it as a “spiritual” gift from the Holy Spirit. Our God is a “spiritual” God and shouldn’t be relegated to being defined by our own limited human capacity to understand anything God does!
For Apostle Paul also instructs us; “Therefore, brethren, desire earnestly to prophesy, and do not forbid to speak with tongues.”
    ‭‭I Corinthians‬ ‭14‬:‭39‬ ‭

Groaning is a translation of Hebrew to Greek, Greek to English. The word actually means petitions, like their groaning or petitions were prayers. Roland 8:26 is the same word used here in Acts. The gift of Tongues is not for the believer but a sign to the unbeliever. As per Acts 2, where the 120 were filled with the spirit and began to speak in other languages as the spirit gave them utterance. It says that the unbelievers around them understood them, each in their own native language, as they declared the works of God. You’re conflating the Spirit praying for us in Roman’s, with the gift of tongues. They are not one in the same. Sure someone can pray in another language, but that’s not at all what Roman’s 8 is talking about.

Our own works are as filthy rags to God he only sees us because of the holy spirit that makes us clean and righteous in his sight. When we receive the holy spirit it's basically like the lord has put a mark on us and we are now made his 🥰 regardless of how good you are as a person jesus himself said there is none good but one and thats God so God can only see us through the holy spirit. And again we don't chase speaking in tongues but it is what happends to us when we are filled with gods holy spirit.. it's what happened to me, my husband and our 1st son so far and our other children want what we have also and are seeking the lord to receive the gift of the holy spirit. and it is the evidence of gods holy spirit coming within us and dwelling within us praise the lord. 😊

Excellent job young brother in Christ. I bet you caught a lot of flack for this teaching. You got Sabbath right and now tongues that is 2 for 2 (most get both wrong).
Do you have a Strong's concordance? I got one when the first pastor who actually encouraged me to do so also preached against speaking in tongues. I had been baptized in the spirit for about 3 years at that point. It is good to look deeper into the etymology for greater understanding. I have several gifts of which tongues is one and you were spot on (I have studied it for 26 years now as I have been attacked for it more times than I can count).
The one thing I think you missed when you asked if speaking in tongues was a sign of salvation. The misconstrual here is because the mainstream church does not understand the feasts nor teach them. Passover is the feast of salvation, Pentecost is the feast that they spoke in tongues/received the baptism of the holy spirit (cloven/cleft/forked or divided tongues of fire). I prayed and asked about this and have no scripture to confirm it, but this was both tongues with interpretation (hence the cloven). And as you said about if the church all spoke in tongues they would be thought to be crazy, it is the same as the original accusation of being drunk, except without the interpretation, so one step worse.
Tongues is also a sign to unbelievers, the scripture you quoted where HE sends men of other tongues because they would not listen, is for judgement not edification, since they do not comprehend because they refused to understand when it was a language they did know, so they are sent men of another language who they will also not listen to (second witness of their unbelief).
Name means nature or character, also renown or fame. In the name of is not a magic phrase added to a prayer, it is speaking in line with the nature and will of the one named. Beware for there are many false teachers who will try and lead you astray, the time of division is upon us, we are being sorted, goats and sheep, wheat and tares. Beware also of false doctrines that are sown into our scripture, if you have several holy bibles and compare you can see that not all agree. Some have added and some taken out, this is largely part of translating through Latin (Vulgate edition) into English instead of from the Greek and Hebrew right into English. You seem to have a good handle on things and I am sure you will do well (GOD willing). I look forward to seeing more of your videos, fair warning I will say if I disagree but of course we are each of us responsible for our own due diligence, only our heavenly Father can give revelation and not men, we can sow the word, but HE must give the increase.

      Happy to commence communication !
Can I inquire Where do you fellowship ?
I myself live in the Perth region
I can to know about the lord back in 1998 - in-where I decided to put my hand up for to be Baptised Fully immersed under the water- as is named as baptism..
      that was baptism-by the way
Then I was encouraged by the local pastor at the time
To ask the lord for the gift of his Holy Spirit,- that is A Promise to Us All
Because- Jesus didn’t Dye upon that Cross in vain !!
So I did pray and I Was Persistent thanking and praising him until I received
The Biblical Evidence of Speaking in a foreign language - which biblically is Called Speaking With Other Tongues!
      This Did happen to me
And so, I Am a Child of the Living God - According to his written word, and the Promise He has promised to The entire World..
How Did You come to hear of Salvation - via receiving the Holy Ghost ?

@Lee Higginbotham As well that many people can receive the gift of speaking in tongues if they received the prayer, and when those at the church pray for them and the power of the Holy Ghost comes upon them, as they received the Holy Ghost they will be manifested and that's when they will "break" in speaking in tongues. Sometimes times will happen or sometimes we just pray for them to receive it and if they fele it in their spirit they have the gift. So basically it's a gift that anyone can received the speaking in tongues if we pray for them to receive it.

Gift of “tongues” must be a KNOWN language & therefore an interpreter is necessary! There no telling what ppl are actually saying & from whom? It can be dangerous! Praying in the spirit is very different!

Been looking at the teaching of "Tongues" for over 30 years and what your teaching about it is very deep, but I was waiting for you to combine tongues with mysterious language as you called it towards the end with PARABLES. It says Jesus spoke in parables and without a parable he did not speak... so that in hearing they will not hear....since Jesus is the word of God and we are told to share it, then "tongues" is sharing what people do not understand and as you shared "only God understands" ....It's because the word that baptizes us baptizes us with the HOLY SPIRIT which is God...Christ is resurrected in us and HIS spirit can hear with spiritual ears......it's a spiritual language we become a HOLY NATION .with its language tongue glasa..as you said....You clearly know the Bible and what it says about tongues...just study along with it PARABLES ....also says in Proverbs I
will open my mouth in dark sayings......The sign of the Holy Spirit is our confession of faith ...like the Bible says with the heart we believe and with the mouth we confess......Would really like to talk more with you about this. Gonna watch more of your videos...Thank God for your sharing his word. Love you bro

i have found that those that do not have the gift of tongues always misinterpret what was said on the day the spirit fell they all heard them in their own language they did not speak in known languages or the mockers would not have thought they were drunk they would have thought they were brilliant those that had ears to hear heard the message in their own language those that did not have ears to hear mocked them saying they were drunk because it sounded like babbeling tongues this gift is available to all believers for edification but you must ask and believe he gives good gifts and receive by faith if you maintain this wrong understanding you will never receive this gift because you dont believe, the type of tongues that is a special gift is the prophetic tongues i would urge you to just believe the bible and move out of unbelief then and only then will you be able to receive this gift

Interesting heading. A Gift is a present, unexpected, a surprise, Merriam Webster- : a notable capacity, talent, or endowment. 2 : something voluntarily transferred by one person to another without compensation. How is it there then a guide? Merriam Webster meaning of guide-a person (in my understanding , also in the written format, with the same purpose) who advises others, especially in matters of behaviour or belief. So it advises, counsel, showing the way, etc. Question: How can there be a guide for something that is given on a special occasion or in a special way, not as an expectation? Just again, something to think about, pulling your legs as we say in my country. Will watch the video/content now. God bless.

My problem is the self-righteous judgements passed on people who do not believe in speaking in tongues and prayer languages. Angela Ucci, a former witch, sliced me with a scathing answer in the comments when I asked her to be careful of the topic she called the second blessing. She had not come as far from her previous life as she proclaimed, making a big deal about not being a cessasionist. Too bad she felt so defensive and did not take my comments in the spirit intended.

Speaking in tongues it's a sign of the Holy Spirit being upon them and being empowered. Yes they are saved, But the Holy Spirit leading them in PRAYER. Praying to God not knowing what they are praying for but only God knows. This is a SPIRITUAL tongue in prayers, not just salvation. It's through the spirit and one must receive the Holy Spirit. Also I know for sure that speaking in Tongues is known as a heavenly language to God.

Hi, so I think speaking tongues is not just another language, and here is why. If it was another language used by the Spirit for someone who spoke another language, than the one spoken in the church, why would you need the gift of interpretation. Surely, the person whose language is being spoken can give the interpretation to edify the rest. It makes no sense that you would then need someone completely different to give an interpretation. But if it's tongues of Angels spoken by the spirit, you would need an interpretation.

    • @adriannegrant766
      @adriannegrant766 Рік тому

please reply, why would you need the gift of interpretation?

    • @adriannegrant766
      @adriannegrant766 Рік тому

What is speaking in tongues with interpretation?
The gift of interpretation is the supernatural enablement to express in an intelligible language an utterance spoken in an unknown tongue. This is not learned but imparted by the Holy Spirit; therefore, it should not be confused with the acquired skill of language interpretation.

Paul also warns us of using pursuasive speach when it comes to the Word... making something true that is not true or intended. We have to be catious of this...
Stay to the Word... not to alternative explanations that twist meanings.

13:50 I don't buy that it was unintelligible to some because the text clearly says everyone understood. When they said they were drunk that's no different when someone today says mockingly that you smoke crack for preaching the Gospel. They heard, but they didn't receive. Every instance of tongues is about real languages. "Unknown tongue" in 1 Cor 14 in the KJV simply means foreign language. Chinese is unknown to me, because I don't know it.
