Do you feel like every day just a little bit more of this wonderful countries soul is being stripped away? Because it us you know. Think back about how much we've lot already...along with our spirit of optimisim. It reflected in our art our archetechture our automobiles and our music... what have we now to be inspired by? Indeed this saddens me to hear
It meant a lot to me being able to see the cars and displays at the Walter P Chrysler museum. Returning to Michigan after ten years in the Southwest and learning the museum was gone was rough.
Walter P. Chrysler was an incredible self taught engineer. Any body that is interested in history, cars, engineering, business, trains ect. should read his autobiography. Life of an American workman. It was written in 1937. My copy is from 1950. I doubt it is still in print, but it should be easily found on ebay.
This is a slap directly in the face of Walter P. Chrysler and his corporation that has produced some of the best engineered, stylish automobiles of all time. Perhaps, just perhaps, the longtime relationship of Chrysler with the country of its new owners, Italy and Fiat will rise to the occasion and the Italians will re-open the museum and make it the showcase year-round of the greatness of this company and all those that have contributed to its longevity and its current rise again as a great designer and manufacturer of some of the most innovative, powerful and stylish cars in the world.
The WPC club held their national meet in Auburn Hills last year (2014) and someone was able to arrange a visit to the museum for us. It's still just as beautiful.
This should not be happening.Chrysler Corporation did engineer and produce many good quality cars and vehicles throughout it's history. They helped win WWII.You cannot replace history! Keep this open for gods sake!!!!
"I'll paint any car any color for only $29.95".... Commercial for Earl Scheib car painter whose company motto didn't inform the public that price didn't seem to include body sanding, masking or anyone who knew what they were doing @ 2:40... Many cars from Chrysler to Packard were tri-toned back in the fifties.
if the American automobile industry used to commonality of parts to build their cars, we would really be able to compete with the rest of the world again. that is to say for example, if a Chrysler a Ford or Chevy could all use the same brake parts, etc. it would have nothing to do with the looks of the car itself. just the way Hyundai, Daewoo and Kia all used the same body shell
Chrysler showed the automotive world their engineering might in 1951 with the"HEMI"and that same design is still used today by dragsters.Mopar or no car. And don't forget the "cross-ram induction.Next witness.
I ASSUME THAT O.C.C STANDS FOR OAKLAND COMMUNITY COLLEGE. I WENT THERE IN THE SEVENTIES, WHY WOULD YOU SAY "WHY SHOULD I CARE" YOU SHOULD CARE IF YOU ARE FROM MICHIGAN. A LOT OF PEOPLE DO.
It’s a shame what happened to Chrysler maybe Chrysler should just auction all those cars off to the general public and then people can enjoy these cars or collect these cars and then Chrysler can use the money they generate from that which would be millions and millions of dollars to aid their failing company in modern times
This is American heritage! Needs to be saved for all future generations!

Nice production Joseph. You've documented an interesting season at the WPC Museum for people to appreciate. The personal accounts are a nice touch.
