Playing Drums In 3/4 Time - Odd Meter Drumming

In this lesson I demonstrate playing drums in 3/4 time and how I connect my drumming to music. This lesson is from my Odd Meter Jazz Drumming course at Jazz Drum School where I also teach you how to play in 5/4 like the classic Jazz standard Take 5. 3/4 and 5/4 are widely used in Jazz so it's important that these become as comfortable as playing in 4/4.

First, I love the shirt!
If you play for any adults who like to dance and know how to dance correctly, you definitely need to learn this. It really isn't that hard but when I switched from rock to jazz in the late 60's, I only knew "2 and 4". Switching over was hard until I found a professional jazz drummer.
Hint: If you've ever watched Charlie Brown's Christmas Special, you've listened to 3/4 with Jerry Granelli on drums, playing "Skating" and "Christmas Time is Here".
