I had lived in Boquete before moving to USA, and never encountered any scorpion as you said, never heard of that at all. Is a very pleasant community, excellent for people who want to retire, live peaceful and no want to spend so much money. The negative part is when people go there and try to change the way others live. We have to be respectful of traditions and culture.
That happens even in the US, too. People moving from region to region, especially "red" states to "blue" states, and vice versa. i.e. New Yorkers retiring to Florida, Californians moving to Texas or Washington state, Evangelicals moving to the West Coast... And the backlash can get ugly. If you don't like the way you live, don't try to recreate it somewhere else.
By far the best Boquete video I have watched. I appreciate the effort and time you put into making it. I plan to visit and possibly relocate there this summer.

My husband and I are thinking about moving there and maybe starting at B&B for the disabled. I don't know how well that would go over any information you could give me would be much appreciated.
Hi, Bridget! Thanks for watching. It is great meeting other people with CP who are considering moving to Panama. Unfortunately, I am not an expert on Boquete nor do I have information on the B&B market there or for the disabled. That said, I think that is a phenomenal idea that should be explored more for viability. I wish I could have been more help.
There’s a big highway like road that for walkers to get across there’s a huge bridge that you have to walk up a lot of steps and then walk down many steps at the other side. Is there any way for other people to get across those roads for walkers but don’t wanna walk up a lot of steps? I am healthy and not handicapped, but I would say if I’m taking groceries up all the steps and I’m a little bit older, it’s sort of a problem.
I made that video over a year ago and can’t recall if the walkways had a ramp or not. I think some of them did but I haven’t been back to that part of Panama since then. If I go back, I will keep an eye out for that.
@@AbroadAbility thanks I enjoy walking, but that looks a bit wicked going up and over just across what looks like a major street going through the small town. I appreciate your informative video :)
One of the many problems no one addresses is the Panamanian currency. Although Panama has its own currency (the Balboa), however, Panama also uses the U.S. dollar. The Balboa to U.S. dollar exchange rate is 1-to-1, which doesn't make since when it comes to GDP. The Gross Domestic Product (GDP) in Panama was worth 52.94 billion US dollars in 2020. Compare that to the U.S. GDP in 2020 at l$20.93 trillion. So how did the 1-to-1 exchange rate balance off? Someone with subject matter expertise in economy explain this...
Hey, Levi! You might have to ask around or Google that one. I don’t live in Boquete. I was just showing what I saw when trying to determine if I wanted to move to that part of Panama. If you find out, please come back and let us know. They would be cool if they did!
Large expat community, so gringo prices... But like most places, if you buy fresh produce at local markets and mainly cook at home, you can get much more for less!
Be careful tourists have gone missing never to be seen again look up the lost girls of panama they won’t tell you this because they don’t want to hurt tourism
Join some of the expat Facebook groups. They have several that answer questions, give advice, discuss living here, etc. You are just a hop skip and a jumó away from Florida. Have to done a scouting trip yet or a relocation tour?

Great video! We want to move to Retire this year in Panama or Costa Rica but apparently it is cheaper to live in Panama. We visited CR and loved it and made wonderful & memorable videos but we are hesitating because of taxes and high cost of living.
Thank you for watching the video! Glad to hear that you were able to make memorable videos. It can be a hard and scary decision to pick a country to move to. I can’t wait to see where you guys end up!
@@AbroadAbility and especially making the move during Covid times. Concerned about hospital capacities, food & safety. Panama and Costa Rica we love the nature. Life is so short to keep on waiting to realize your dreams : )
@@TaintedMango you are not alone with how you feel. I have heard several people share the same sentiments. You will know when the time is right for you. 👍🏽🌎
I love it here.
Um belo lugar.
Absolutely terrific video! Very informative and makes me very excited about my upcoming move to Boquete. You have a new subscriber. Thanks a lot. Did I see you there in a photo hanging out with Adventure Rich?
Yay! That’s makes me so happy to hear that this video made you excited for your move! Thanks for your support by subscribing! 👊🏽🎉🇵🇦 Yes, that was me in the photo with Adventure Rich. I love his content and videography!
@@AbroadAbility Agree about AR's content and his great eye. Good luck deciding where to live! Looking forward to more of yours in the future. Take care.
Planning to visit next year. Thanks for the lovely video.
This is super informative. Im trying to find where all the young creatives are because Panama City is expensive.
Thank you! Yes, certain parts of Panama City can be expensive but there are parts that seem to fit into several budgets if you look outside the well known expat areas.
I wish I could find more videos about families that have moved.😢
Excellent information!
Can you tell us how much income is needed to live comfortably in Boquete?
thanks for posting!
Love Your Channel.
Awww. Thank you! I am smiling!
Fantastic Video. You are a real pro.
Great video 🙌🏽 I would love to try that Geisha Coffee....I wonder how much a cup cost since it's up to $1000 per lb,
I am so going to try it when I go back! ☕️☕️☕️
I looked at the prices on the Buckle Tip menu board in the video - I think $7 for 300 ml and $12 for 600 ml.
@@susanwaterworth5622 Thanks🙌🏾
Thank you for covering so many aspects of Boquete! Doesn’t sound like it’s a good option if you want to work remotely from there with the electric and internet issue?
I don’t live there but there are plenty of people who work remotely. You just have to ask around for advice and lessons learned.
It seems like a small valley and unfortunately there’s a golf course I can understand that’s a big hobby of some people, but somehow it seems like a big waste of land.
Its a nice town.i was there New Year and Coffre Flower Fair.
Please check the voice on your video, the music is loud but you have to turn the volume pretty high to hear your voice
Will do. Thank you!
2:25 what are the relative living costs???
Hi, Jim. I am not sure what the living costs are like there now. I ended up choosing to move to Panama City.
Excellent video. Thank you.
Nice sister love south africa
Thank you! I haven’t been to that part of Africa yet.
Welcome you
Are you in David at the moment? I am heading there shortly (should be there around Dec 1st - 3rd, 2021) Would really love to have a coffee and chat and pick your brain as I am encountering hurdles with my settling in. Thanks!!!
My apologies but I was traveling when you posted this message. I actually do not live in David but was just showing what I saw while exploring that part of Panama to see if I wanted to live there. I am sorry to hear that you are encountering hurdles. Have you tried Facebook or WhatsApp groups to help?
That's great, I have issues walking to ty
Wonderul! Thank you. Subbed!
Awww thank you for watching, your comment, and for subscribing!!!! Woo hoo!!! 🎉🇵🇦
@@AbroadAbility : )
Great video, Dear. Thanks for sharing!!!! This is a year ago. Did you move to Panamá?
Yes. The video on Boquete was filmed over a year ago. I moved to Panama City in August! Woo hoo!!!!! 🎉🇵🇦❤️
@@AbroadAbility Nice!!! I'll have to check our your more recent videos. I live here in the city, too...en el Centro. I married a Panamanian.
Wow! Thank you for introducing me to such a beautiful place! How were you able to visit the waste water treatment facility?! That’s awesome! “Just because you can flush it, doesn’t mean it can be treated.” Noted! 😉
Thanks for sharing!
it truly is a beautiful place. You WOULD ask about the wastewater LOL. I was able to visit the plant as part of a conference tour.
Great video!
So what happens when you get those hurricane bands of rain and your roof leaks? How fast can you get it fixed in such a small town?
Hey I wanna move to back to panama but I wanna know if the internet service go out there
I think they will depend on whet part of the country you are in. I haven’t had any issues with the internet.
Nice Vid Thanks!
Do you know anything about laws regarding importing older used (restored) vehicles for personal use?
I am sorry but I do not. Just make sure that the parts are available for repairs.
Wow loved your videos--new subscriber here for sure. I was wondering what do expats do for transportation there. What do you need to get a small car and a Panamanian driver's license? Or do most people use moped, etc? Thanks
fabulous job...thank you so much
Thank you! Glad you enjoyed it and took the time to comment. 👊🏽
@@AbroadAbility You are a very impressive woman.
Seems spread out, how is it if you don't have a car?
Do retirement visa have income requirements like most?
I'm living in china 4 years...awful
Yes great question
Did you try keto or Paleo for your health condition. Read Terry Wahls "The Wahl's Protocol."
Thank you for your suggestion. I didn’t see much on cerebral palsy in adults during my initial search. Did I miss something? 🧐
Hello I am visually impaired and I also have cerebral palsy. I would like to find out more about bouquete Panama.
I wish I could have been more help.
great video. are there any nursing homes there or in David? Just in case.
I love panama
Me too!!!! 🇵🇦❤️
No beaches?
This is a mountain town. The beaches are a bit of a drive away.
Is there a bowling alley?
Hey, Levi! You might have to ask around or Google that one. I don’t live in Boquete. I was just showing what I saw when trying to determine if I wanted to move to that part of Panama. If you find out, please come back and let us know. They would be cool if they did!
Do you need a vaccine passport to enter the country or to access social life?
No body should move to Boquete until the Holland girls kris Froom crime has been solve. and what about the crime in the area come onl
Jeez some of those restaurant prices seem a bit steep! Not a retirement destination for those whose priority is lower costs...
Large expat community, so gringo prices... But like most places, if you buy fresh produce at local markets and mainly cook at home, you can get much more for less!
You forgot to mention the wild dogs that attack you every time while you're hiking.
Do you have contact information for Arte Hostal Boquete?
I am sorry but I do not. Were you able to find one yet?
Be careful tourists have gone missing never to be seen again look up the lost girls of panama they won’t tell you this because they don’t want to hurt tourism
Thanks desde 🇵🇦🌎🙋🏻♀️🤚🏻👍🏻⚘🙏😇🥰🥰❤✅🔟

I like forceful water pressure. If I get drip, drip, drip I'm out of there.
