    That pocket explanation was the best I’ve heard yet!
    Hard thing to practice tho’! Gotta keep grinding it I guess🔥

      It is really tricky!
      Sometimes I believe my pocket SUCKS!! But you just gotta keep working on it.
      I think it comes naturally after practicing time keeping for a long time.

    If drum terminology applied to videography I’d say your videos are in the pocket. But it doesn’t ... so I’ll just say thanks for sharing this interesting and inspiring video. Loved your two licks in the non-linear example, first when you changed from hi-hat to ride (4:10) and at the end of the groove (4:17) ... That’s what I’m talking about. Awesome! 👊🏻🖖🏻

    nice stuff, thanks for posting this video, I am going to use the half time transition and that "disco" feel beat to practice this weekend. I am building up a bit of grooves to make re-learning the drums again fun. which is easy since I don't have any requirements, deadlines or homework. I love being self taught now. Compared to high school 30 years ago anyway lol

    Sir is practice pad is good for practice to get more better for drumming please tell me

    • @ThatSwedishDrummer
      @ThatSwedishDrummer  9 місяців тому

      A practice pad is indeed a good tool for practice. It's very portable, so you can bring it anywhere. And they're also very "low volume", so you don't have to worry about bothering anyone.
      For drum kit practice, it's not gonna be "enough", but it's a good start.

    • @ThatSwedishDrummer
      @ThatSwedishDrummer  Рік тому

      In retrospect - I was wrong about that haha!
      I thought for a long time he was left handed, but he's just played open handed for such a long time. Apparently it helped him play his setup better.

    • @juanjavierm
      @juanjavierm Рік тому

      @@ThatSwedishDrummer Yes. In fact Gavin Harrison interviewed him and he told the reason to play open-handed: the perspective and the drumming approach it arose. BTW: Love your sound!!
