Just putting it out there 90% of the citizens were Canadians and yet the Irish have done more to memoirals this than the Canadians. Just goes on to show how dirty vote bank politics can get.

I remember this disaster, I was a small kid, and the whole country was trying to help. It started some serious conversations about finally bringing peace to Northern Ireland and ending the devising influence of religious organisations here. I can still picture some of those news reports. Those poor families.

The guy who constructed the bomb didn't get a life sentence even though he was caught and the evidence pointed to him? That's horrific. The fact that this man is now walking free horrifies me. He murdered over 300 people yet he's allowed to walk free! That is so messed up!

Thank you - My classmate Meghna (Written as Meghan) Sabharawal, 11 died in the crash, she was visiting her father for the summer break - never returned to Class 7 that she was come into. I was in the same class for one year, probably never even spoke to her ever, but do remember her every year on June 23. I was a kid of 10 that time, still remember hearing the 900 PM NEWS on Radio - AIR INDIA JUMBO JET KANISHKA CRASHES OFF THE IRISH COAST was the headline that day. Though not personally affected, unable to erase the day, the news and the name of Meghna Sabharwal from my memory

Thank you sir. But the irony is, the canadian government has still not changed its ways. To appease a particular vote bank, they turn a blind eye to all the nefarious, Anti India, Anti Hindu activities by the khalistani terrorists. Its like Canada has become a base for Khalistani terrorists plotting against India.

Mary, mother of goodness, that is a long list. Especially devastating that so many families were wiped out. If I'm correct, not only was this the worst terrorist attack in aviation history prior to the 11th of September 2001 attacks, but this was the third worst air disaster in history at the time, behind the Tenerife North Airport disaster and Turkish Airlines Flight 981. Of course though, Air India Flight 182 would be surpassed by Japan Airlines Flight 123 only seven weeks later.

Canada really failed the Air India victims, especially with the acquittal of Bagri and Malik. The judge in their case, when delivering his ruling, basically called out the Canadian government for botching their case so bad that he had to acquit them on lack of evidence.
I'm not sure if Air India 182 could be considered Canada's 9/11. I don't think it had the same cultural impact, and while every American knows about 9/11, I don't think the same can be said for Canadians and Air India 182. It wasn't an attack on Canada per say, like 9/11 was. The better comparison is Lockerbie, but on a bigger scale.

But when it is Indians and Canadian-Indians dying in a similar attack by a terrorist organization based out of Canada, did Canada capture and extradite ALL members of that terrorist organization? LOL no. They just went and gave them political space in their own country. And they continue to do this to this day. Insomuch that now these terrorists are running for elections in Canada.

The thing about Jeannie Adams is that people are generally helpful - society wouldn't work if people weren't generally helpful and kind. And unfortunately this means if someone wants to cause harm, they can easily take advantage of this.
That poor woman. She was literally doing what, for the vast majority of other passengers, would have been the right, helpful thing to do, and she must have been left with horrific trauma and guilt as a result (even though it wasn't her fault, or even her responsibility).

Your sympathy is misplaced. Yes, Singh badgered her at the check-in counter. However, Jeannie Adams broke POLICY by allowing that bag to be checked for a stand-by ticket. She was the first, and most simple line of defense and her "helpful" action is the root cause of this terrible tragedy.

Whether or not to consider it a Canadian tragedy or an Indian one, a tragedy was a tragedy. More than 300 lost their lives. Whether you consider the dead to be Indian or Canadian, they were human and they were owed justice. It is horrible that the ones who actually carried the bombs were never identified let alone caught.
And I am sad that this disaster receives far less attention than Lockerbie although this one took far more lives. It's as if Indian lives matter less.

We fought for justice, we practically begged you but you denied it and laughed on our face but you forget a simple fact that we are 1.4 billion + people and if we were forced to take justice in our own hands, Canada is just too small of a nation to box with GOD!
