My driveway is about 1/3 the size of yours and I bought the exact same model with a 50 ft extension cord. I'm a 5' 7" 66 yr old woman and I'm actually eager now to try it out in the morning! We're expecting 3-6 inches here tonight in NJ.
Make sure you have the correct cord gauge to match the amp of your device. It's a fire risk and can damage the motor of you use a cord with too low amperage.
How well does it hold up? This video says it was uploaded 3 years ago, is the snow blower still working? This would be perfect for my needs, but if it doesn't hold up well, I'd prefer to put the money toward one that does.
From reading the Amazon comments, someone tried to order an new 15" auger. The reply from Snow Joe - none in stock. The plastic auger being the most likely part on the machine to break suggests to me no replacement parts. So this would be a use it until it breaks and pitch it machine. So, good price but you had better buy two.
Thank you. it’s a model I’m looking at to make paths in my backyard for my dogs in the winter. I have a 30” Ariens for my driveway but it’s too big to bring out back.
Thanks for the review. I just bought one online. This looks like the electric Ryobi electric lawnmower but for snow. No gas, tune-ups and the smell of gas engine use. Looking forward to using it this winter in new jersey.
Thanks so much for the review, I have a VERY small sidewalk that I shovel in WISCO and this is going to be perfect. I also already have a Joe electric mower that I use on my VERY small from patch of grass in front. It was also less than a hundred bucks and takes up very little room in garage. Appreciate the non biased input, keep it up.
Hey Brian, just bought one yesterday - can you tell me if anything has broken on this model, that you fixed or replaced? How does it do with really wet snow (8" or more)? Thanks so much for your insights. J
If you start on the side of the drive your cord is plugged in and work away from it you should be fine with the cord sense it will naturally want to stay on that side its plug in on with the length of it.
I brought one haven't used it yet but I have a gravel driveway and sidewalk and cement porch landing and a deck in the back will this be safe for me or should I get another kind of snow blower, OHIO. Thanks

You need to use a 12 gauge outdoor cord for these.

Read the manual to learn how to loop the extension cord as a strain relief and attach it to the handle.
That is a game changing tip.
I found that today! Great tip

I could see how the ext. cord could get in the way, and you'd have to dry it off afterwards. I bought the battery one. We'll see.
How's the battery life on that model?

Was it ok in the gravel? I also have a gravel driveway and need help picking one out.
Can i still use this model on gravel driveways? Does it have adjustments?
Thanks Brian.
I love that youre out there snowblowing in Jeans 👖 (and what looks to be some lightweight lace up boots ?) 😄
Can you use this on a wooden deck?
How well does it work in snow that's super hard and icey?
Is this the 18 inch 15amp ?
Thank you Brian; it was very informative.
Great review, thank you!
Thanks for the review, much appreciated
Sir, what kind of extension cord are u using?
Wonder if it's still kicking 2 years later
It is. Used it this winter. Packed it up to use again next winter.
@@briansbackroom1447 Thanks for the update.
Does it need to be plugged in at all times?
Yes, it needs to be plugged in to operate. This does not have a battery. A weather appropriate extension cord is required.
Why didn't you just buy the ego snow shovel? It's battery operated.

Do Not Buy This Model, Do your research.
Not good for storms or wet snow.
look if it's not gas or Eletric it's not going to last and do the job ok battery suck they all run out no matter what do not be fooled.
I hate cord... Just buy the battery one
shovel would have been faster
Wrong and you'd break your back
