Me and my partner have played 4way transfers for a while. I don't think I like the part "if he likes the suit, he bids it". The highest frequency response is usually Invitational .. 7-9p. we think the most often relevant response is to show if you accept the inviation to game by bidding 3c, and not accept it and bid 2nt. regardless of the club fit.. The nice with transfering to clubs or diamonds, is that it's easy for Partner to dictate where he want to go. 4nt is always with that minor as trumph, and we can cue ourself up there. Length is not important anymore. Worst case we have a 5-2 fit, but when I have 5 I'm usually trying to find 6NT rather than 6c. I love the 4 way transfer, but I think the 2spade response need to be threated as an Accept for the inviation or not rather than a superfit in clubs. :D
I think the same goes for some good diamond inviation holdings. maybe distributional. It's good to transfer to 3d and get the response where if opener is Max or minimum. A 3-4 card support and 15 might be considered as a maximum because of the really good fit, but preferably good hold in the majors to show the max, showing max is an inviation to 3NT.
