When I watch this here I really think Jax becoming a trigger happy killer really ruined the “brains before bullets” Jax that I liked. Stone cold killer Jax just wasn’t as compelling after a while.

You're also a little disoriented from the concussion of the guns, unless they are used to a lot of battle, some of them would be frozen and need to be told what to do. So they would all be yelling at each other and things would happen a lot faster.
