So often you hear stories of people losing their faith at the hands/mouths of others. We don't have every answer, WHY the hell do people keep running their mouths! If it's not a mouth runner it's a "Christian's" actions that turn others from GOD, like trying to "pray"/torture the gay away!

I did a video about this lol. You would go to hell. Not fire, burning you alive, forever. That's the second death. Which happens 1 thousand years after. Jesus comes back. Hell is essentially just like the Greek tales. There's a purgatory part. There's a torture part. And there's a good part. And then there's a paradise like area. In the new testament. In Luke 16. Lazarus. Goes to hell. Because Jesus didn't die yet. Which is the whole point of him dying. You don't have to go down there. Even if you are a good person. And go to the good part. And have to look across and at the evil people. Being boiled, and eaten. And all the rest of it. Which even if you're in paradise. It's kind of a mood killer.
The entrance is supposedly in Rome. That place they've been eating and diddling kids for the last 4 thousand years.

Also something that I realized recently. It says he'll split the mount of olives in half. Supposedly to get people who were either good people. Or converted in hell, out of hell. Which means the good part, is supposed to be under Jerusalem. Meaning Hell for scope. Would stretch from Rome to Jerusalem underground. Which is part of the reason when they set up some wack idol in the 3rd temple. You're meant to run the hell out of the city and not stop to take anything. Because things are going to get insane after that.
      Zechariah 12:9
On that day his feet shall stand on the Mount of Olives that lies before Jerusalem on the east, and the Mount of Olives shall be split in two from east to west by a very wide valley, so that one half of the Mount shall move northward, and the other half southward.

There isn't really an answer that anyone can give other than simply, we don't know. God could have come to them in a dream, that's happening at an insane rate among the Muslim population right now and many Muslims are turning to Christ because of it. Look it up here on YT, it's really interesting.
He could also judge them by the law, just like He will do with those that refuse Him. The Bible says the law wasn't given to the Gentiles (meaning anyone that isn't a Jew), but it is written on our hearts. The problem is that we _all_ break the law, no matter how "saintly" we might be. The law is absolute to an extent, and the payment, or what we owe, for our sin is death. Not physical death, spiritual death, so separation from God. Jesus died on the cross to pay that debt for us, we only have to accept the gift (Ephesians 2:8-9) God gave us. However, those that haven't heard the Good News, I have no doubt God will be merciful. He is a merciful, loving God, after all.
I go into more detail in my other comment (not in reply to anyone), but there really isn't a much better answer. Maybe an answer that's worded better, or that gives reference to Scripture, but we just don't know. We're human, we can't know everything and we don't have all the answers, but if we study the Bible, we can have understanding...even if we can't communicate it very well.
I hope that you find what you're looking for, the best advice I can give you is to pray about it and read His Word. 🙂

That doesn't mean we shouldn't care or that we shouldn't share the Gospel, just that God has more information than we do so we shouldn't _worry._
As far as blind faith goes, all of us that have believed since Christ ascended back into Heaven have blind faith. He isn't here in the flesh, we believe without seeing Him...and we are blessed for doing so:

There's a funny anecdote by an author (Dillard) about a missionary coming to an Inuit village and speaking to a man there. They talk about Christianity and at the end the Inuit guy asks, "So, are all of my ancestors burning in hell forever then??" And the missionary thinks about it and says, "Well, no. If they never heard the Good Word then they couldn't have known, so they're not in hell" and the Inuit man thinks about that and asks, "So, if no one tells you about God, then you don't go to hell, because you have to know first?" And the missionary is like, "Well, yeah." The Inuit man nods and looks him in the eye, "Ok. So then why did you tell me???"
Btw I was raised Christian and started having an issue around 8 when I was told my mom was a heathen who would burn in agony for eternity unless I saved her soul. That is a seriously fkked up thing to say to a kid, first off, and it made me oppositional to them. God put an 8 year old in charge of saving a soul??? Great plan. Take children who unfortunately pass early. Is it reasonable for that child who has yet to know God to be judged as harshly for their sins? No. In the same vein, those people won’t be judged the same as those who do know him and his sacrifices through Jesus. Nothing in scripture can back that they will. I think the point is more that if you aren’t open to that you probably shouldn’t have married in the first place. One of those self sacrificial prerequisites of being married is to give up your self priorities/desires that contradict in marriage. I mean if I was married and my wife wants to bang even if I didn’t want to I’d be obliged to and the expectation is mutual. There’s many statements in the Bible about how men are supposed to give sex to their wives as well. The biblical marriage is honestly the perfect example of a how to guide for death due us part modern marriages. People just don’t want to live under it or don’t know how to or fail to or break oaths for exactly the reason marriages fail. They only think of the self rather than the marriage as themselves. Marriage comes with expectations standards duties and responsibilities and cherry picking things with no context is the failure of the teacher not the student. The Bible preaches the concept of self denial as a form of self love because by denying the standards accountability and desires we hold as human beings and instead doing your best to hold yourself to standards desires and the accountability set by a perfect being you meet the greatest possible state of self.

      @echidna9620 Рік тому +1

The whole center of Christian salvation is taking responsibility for actions initially and the reward for it (that's the simple version at least). You take full responsibility, you admit you've done wrong, you ask to be forgiven. Then God quite literally forgives and forgets! People think when they die God will have a list of everything they did wrong and use it to decide where you go. This is not true. if you truly believe and most importantly, Love him, and have owned up to your mistakes, he will see no fault in you as he has already shouldered your burden! I find that people mostly make opinions on faith (whether for or against it) based on what people tell them, which is ok in moderation. Don't take my or anyone else's word for it. If you really want to have an informed opinion, study the bible. And I mean REALLY study it, read verses in a couple different versions or do a quick Google search to look at the context behind how a word was used when the Bible was written or even just read it in general! And if you still disagree, that's okay! You informed yourself, which is more than most people do!

I always believed in Science. One day when I was like 12-13 I just went, “hey, I know objectively that there was no Adam and Eve, no Garden of Eden, because of the Theory of Evolution. I know that bad things happen to good, god-fearing people all the time despite prayers and sacrifices. I know that some parts of the bible concerning things like slavery, divorce, and women’s rights I vehemently disagree with, and also I don’t know how God themself would’ve been able to write it down and ensure it was never mistranslated or changed to fit an agenda. So why do I still believe in it all? I’m a modern and free thinking person, so why do I still believe in something with little to no proof for and and overwhelming evidence against it?”
So I came to the conclusion that the only reason I still believed in it was societal pressure and I fear of having to explain it to my (relatively religious) mother. So I just sat up and said I was an Atheist.
Edit: wow you guys are really aren’t pleased in the comments lol.

i think you can believe in science while still being religious. many people simply follow religion as a way to live better lives, to give them a sort of road map. religion often promotes kindness, charity, and empathy. being religious is about sticking to these principles, which are told through symbolic stories in religious texts that usually aren’t interpreted literally in modern times. while science may disprove some of the literal meaning of religious texts, the messages and their significance still remain.

Can we first acknowledge that no where does the Bible state that there is a fiery place of torment. “For the dead are conscious of nothing”. Second, heart condition is a major factor, whether someone has heard of Jesus or not. “There will be a resurrection of the righteous and the unrighteousness.” Christianity has been twisted to scare people into worshiping a vengeful God when nothing is further from the truth. Hey, man. I am Catholic and think u may have understood some stuff wrong, especially about going to Heaven. It is true that we believe we have to be sinless to go to Heaven but it doesn't mean we should NEVER have sinned. That's absolutely impossible for a regular human being like me or u, just as you said. As for the rest, the Adam and Eve part is not necessarily to be taken word for word. Evolution and Adam and Eve can coexist. I mean that in a way that the Earth was created in 7 days as in to represent that it was created in a period of time (through evolution). You see that it is metaphorical when it is said in the Bible that light was created before day (on two separate days of the week). This is not my opinion only but also the interpretation of the Church and many prominent priests (check out Fr. Mike Schmidt). I don't know any Catholic who is creationist (I am not saying they don't exist, but I have met my own fair share of Catholics haha). As for the other concerns, I will need to read your comment again as it is very late here and I have already forgotten haha. I hope I did not come accross as condescending or anything. The Santorini Volcanic Eruption is a likely suspect as the cause for the plagues of Egypt.

My bi youth pastor having gay threesomes with his wife while teaching us the horrors of un-missionary, non-child-producing sex was also a fun irony. But mostly for me always being interested in film the realization it's all a performance to evoke a cathartic emotional response opened my eyes. Nothing cosmic about it. I might end up creating a bigger problem, but let me try to address this from my understand and experience.
Faith seems to have some primordial spiritual power, and it's extremely difficult to grasp for me. Why faith alone? I don't know exactly. It's likely because if we used our physical effort, we would lose sight of the sacrifice.
However, let's look at this. Remember the men crucified together with Jesus. They were bad according to biblical and social law, weren't they? Yet, one was saved at the last minute. And I don't think he was being crucified for being a petty thief.
Technically, we're all guilty as the next. That's why Jesus kept preaching love, understanding, and _forgiveness._ The idea is that a true believer, or disciple, tries to emulate the way Christ thinks and treats other people.
I'm actually living this situation right now, where there's a particularly destructive person in my family who some of us just wish would die.
However, over the course of several prayers and Holy spirit visitations, we realised that focusing on the spiritual persecution of that person was a waste of time. One time the HS said "don't focus on [them]"
This was in the middle of one particularly bad situation invited by that individual which was threatening to sweep the whole family away.
Now I don't have all the answers, there are much better informed people out there. What I'll say way God interacts directly with us almost nondeterministic according to our own reasoning.

@@el7284 from the sound of it, a lot or all of what you believe is based on assumptions and feelings. Faith might feel like it has primordial importance to you, but to me and to many others, it doesn't. It really doesn't have any importance to me at all. I'm not sure what you mean by us "losing sight of the sacrifice". The thieves probably were put to death for something like petty theft. Or maybe it was just theft. Either way it probably wasn't some grand crime. The Roman's crucified so many people that they had mass graves where they just threw the bodies. It's unlikely that all those people were horrible people. They were probably convicted of crimes we would consider minor today. And forgiveness as it is in the bible isn't really a good kind of forgiveness. Jesus did say some good things but he also said some bad things. "Forgiveness as long as you worship me" isn't forgiveness. Forgiveness can be a good thing in your life, but it can also be a bad thing. You shouldn't forgive abusers too easily. You shouldn't forgive people when they just do it again. Even if they don't, you shouldn't have to forgive people that have seriously and permanently harmed you. Forgiveness from God isn't really justice
