Thought on Arachoditis or AA??
I had a full spinal fusion in 2009 from neck to tailbone and it has been nothing but issues... had it "fixed" before but now I'm being told they won't remove hardware, won't fix whatever the problem is, and only recommend prescription pain meds and a spinal cord stimulator
Great chat for those considering surgery or have been through it already.
I had a fusion done in 04, L5-S1 The fusion worked and I felt great for about 4 months. First, I went into surgery on a Monday morning 08:00hrs, I was home the next day, then back to work the next Monday, 7 days later. They used a spacer about 1 inch x .5 inch round, with holow center and holes. They packed the spacers with my bone. The fusion looks good even now, however, 4 months later WOW!!! pain. It seems scar tissue started to grow into my S1, will between 04 and now 23, S1, and S2 has scar tissue growing into, and I have been on pain management since. A whole other story, but has been working only because I desided to manage it. At 74, I am still with USCG Aux, and just stepped down from Capt with the Fire Police. I stay active and desided to deal with some pain, and keep busy, other than drugged up not knowing where I am.
Nothing like getting. 4” incision off a surgery that’s supposed to be .5”-1”… and then it doesn’t work? Shocker.
I had spinal fusion internal fixation (L5-S1) in 2007 after failed PT, meds, steroid injections.
Positive:
1. I was able to continue military service for an additional 13 years.
2. Pain was significantly reduced
3. No more back "blowouts" and ER visits
Negative: Now have a disc herniation L4-L5. Not surprising though. I was warned this could occur.
I'm viewing this video to avoid another surgery 🤞
Thank you for sharing Kindly Please. We see this a lot. I'd recommend exhausting all nonsurgical options before going the surgical route.
@@centenohome I completely agree 👍
You are a rare success.
I am medically trained and after a car accident I was left with the only course of action was a spinal fusion which was a lumbar fusion L4-5 and S1 and instead of being successful with this surgery I now have the diagnosis of MS to compensate for the Orthopedic Doctors ineptness.
I lifted a bag to put it in the car and my back collapsed on the left. I have an old burst fractures in l5 and have been told that my spine has curved in the lumbar area is a c shape.I have osteopenia which was brought on by past cancer surgery.Would it work if I had a fusion.
My surgeon has said that it would be too dangerous to operate as it may cause nerve damage, incontinence, paralysis, or even death as well as anasthesia trouble.
I am due to have surgery for an incisional hernia and a hiatial hernia, will it be safe for me to do so.
You don't need a chiropractor. You just need a good spine fusion 😊
Thanks for the great video. Can cervical instability be diagnosed with a digital motion xray? Can you diagnose damsge to ligaments near the cervical spine from an MRI or ultrasound?
CCI is diagnosed through both a physical exam and digital motion xray. Learn more here: centenoschultz.com/diagnosing-craniocervical-instability/
Can you see cervical ligament injuries on mri or ultrasound?
You can usually detect them in an MRI
I just had a microdisectomy, S1 L5 , reason for the surgery right leg weakness and hamstring tightness I was having a problem flexing my leg also .. 4 week post -op and now I feel back soreness surgical area suppose to be normal but I do have right side planter foot numbness now and left leg numbness and tingling and big toe locks on me something I did not have before so is this inflammation or is this permanent , I see my surgeon 5/20/22 , I’am concerned I do not want anymore surgery’s and I only take naproxen 500mg twice daily I refuse anything else , only 40 years old truly active love the out doors and now it’s been a nightmare Bc of the unknown . 🙏

Can you trust a doctor that is taking payoffs from the drug companies. for percribing their drug. Hmm, is the doctor perscribing a med because you need it, or because he/she makes money by it. There is or was a wed site of the payoffs and doctors.
Unfortunately ,some of us need surgery. I appreciate this guy. Chiropractors are a joke!
I vehemently disagree!! Some are excellent and add other treatments like Electro Stimulation, Massage & Acupuncture, which I plan on trying. My sisters chiropractor keeps her on her feet. We both are chronic pain patients. Mine is significantly different & much worse as I’ve had 4 Spine surgeries and she’s had one. One of mine was botched.
@@Angela-iv7qy I just had a cervical disc replacement from an injury caused by a chiropractor

Excellent information with clear, useful and honest take on the topic.
Thank you Alejandro
I had a fusion about 20 years ago. L4-L5 s1 I've been on percocet's ever since.
Dr Centenno is one of the very few medical doctors who tried to accurately diagnose my cervical spinal injury such that I could’ve had surgery. I could write books about my experiences. I just want to say thank you! Amy Maier (previously Okamoto)
Thank you for sharing, Emmy!
So Emmy did you have surgery?
I had L3L4 fusion done 5-13-21 and I have the same pain .. plus the pain from the fusion. I have acute lingering share (muscle pain) as i always described to my doctor.. i tried the injections from pain management doctor first and then did the surgery.. now my pain management wanted to do the spinal stimulater and since i didn't want to yet. I saw another PM doctor to try injections and when he looked at my mri before surgery he doesnt think i needed a fusion.. now i just feel lost. Any suggestions or advice would be appreciated.
Hello yes I have a failed lumbar surgery fusion I have never had the pelvic tilt the sagittal balance taken care of they did not put any type of lordosis in my back and I did have a high degree of one prior to the lumbar fusion I have adjacent segment disease and one thing major is the injury was on the SI joint right side I don't know 5 years ago what I was thinking but the doctor that did it fused three four and five and of course I didn't know what was going on for a month or two you know and I mean I would knew I was in pain immediately as soon as they tried to even move me especially make me stand up and it'll be five years in December this year and I am just about not moving very well and I think my muscles and ligaments within the lumbar pelvic region are stressed because of having to take up the extra work please please help I'm in so much pain thank you guys
What are symptoms of failed Lumbar Fusion L4/L5? 2023 can you answer this question?

Can discs get rehydrated with MSC stem cells?
Smart Doc wish I’d known before I walk trough those doors
You don't need a chiropractor. You just need a good spine fusion 😊
Thanks for your candid integrity
My pleasure!
At what point after surgery do you consider it a failure? I'm 5 months post microdisectomy and still in pain.
You failed 😊
