I’ve been on the fence about this new Mic system from DJI, but after watching your review I think I’m going to order them, and I will use your link. I don’t have the Rode wireless system, so this will be a big step for me. So many great features in this system, you can’t go wrong. Great review Susie, and thanks for sharing.
Just finding you and your review has informed my decision to choose the DJI over the RODE as a solo mom content producer who wants to streamline audio for greater workflow to maki it easier for Mr to increase my uploads.
We have the RØDE 2 wireless mics and love them; however, we recently got the Ulanzi wireless mic system for $50 as a backup. We now film with an iPhone. While we haven’t done a lot of comparison testing yet, it seems almost unbeatable for the price. Not only does it include two receivers and a slim charging case, the individual units are tiny, and the transmitter has a lightning passthrough. This makes it great for mobile live streaming because it allows us to keep charging the iPhone while still using the transmitter. Oh, and they also have noise cancellation! Thanks for all the great reviews!
I was planning on getting the DJI mic next month as my first external mic for mobile movie making after seeing other reviews of it, but it's always nice to get another positive review.
@@vikasedu So, I haven't actually had too many chances to use it since getting it, but it seems to be pretty good overall. No background hiss that I can detect, though I'm sure that depends on settings as well.

*I really really loved your videos. I do not have any wireless Mic at the moment and is planning to buy one. I hope DJI mic is compatible with most of DSLR/Mirrorless camera and Android/iOS phone.* I would go for DJI although it is quite a bit expensive compared to RODE Wireless GO II 🤗

Nice but curious what happens when the internal battery fails in a couple of years? Curious how much it costs to replace the internal battery - or if its a job anyone handy can do. I guess we will find out in time. Also DJI drone batteries self discharge to protect the batteries. Curious if these do the same.
That's a good question. We haven't had these long enough to know, but I know there's equipment insurance that can be purchased. Might be worth having for this instance.
@@Gemini_Connect Insurance isnt going to cut it. The batteries will fail around the same time any insurance policy would fail, in one or two years. Leave a lipo fully charged for a long period and the battery will be damaged. The DJI drone batteries have circuits which discharge the battery to storage level, thereby prolonging the life of the battery. Curious if these mic and case batteries also discharge and self protect? I certainly wouldnt like to have to throw my DJI mini 2 drown away when the batteries fail - but thankfully I can buy replacement batterys. How so in this case?

I get it that Rode is a microphone company and DJI is not, but it seems that such a bias is not relevant in today's environment, and is perhaps blinding us to making an objective comparison of audio quality. We should not consider Rode's wireless mic to be better simply because they are a mic company and DJI is not. Take Bambu Lab as an example, a brand new company that last year upended the entire consumer 3D printer industry by inventing a printer that surpassed every existing consumer 3D printer company's products in terms of combined speed and print quality. The entire industry is scrambling to catch up or die in Bambu Lab's dust. Tesla did the same thing to the automobile, despite established car companies tinkering with electric cars for decades prior. Now Teslas are everywhere in California and Arizona. So the age-old argument of a company's product being better merely because they have more experience in an industry doesn't seem to hold up to the current state of technological change and innvovation. The capabilities that are possible by today's technical innovators are astounding. Long gone are the days where new companies and new product niche expansions by established companies must wait until their sophomore offerings before they are better than established tech. Just like Apple with the iphone, freshman offerings of technology are constantly surprising us. DJI has definitely hit a home run with the DJI mic (though certainly not an all-time record home run).

Great questions. I agree about the added background noise for the sample clips, but I will say that those were filmed without tinkering with the gain on the transmitters, and no audio editing. Unfortunately, the cable and windscreens do not fit well in the charging case, which is a bummer. For the magnetic clips, I didn't find them useful for how I like the use the transmitters, but it's nice to have them as an option.

I like your evaluation of the DJI microphone. How does this compare to the Saramonic (?) microphone ?
I did another comparison video between those two mics.
Thanks a lot for this video👍 Now I have to think twice about my next wireless microphone. My Question about this two mics: how(or what?) about using dji and rode on a pc for livestreaming or voiceover or else? Greetings (again) from Germany 🇩🇪
Good question. I haven't tested the DJI for voiceovers or livestreams, but I think it would sound fine. Both scenarios are great for the Rode.
Does the DJI mic work with GoPro 11?
Oh in think you can be louder than martin if you wanted too. lol
Haha it happens, but rarely 😅
I'm trying to understand why everyone's DJI MIC sounds better than mine 😅 mine just sounds extremely muffled. it got a bit better when I turned down the in camera audio levels and boosted up the transmitter and receiver both to +10 but man, still. I almost feel like they've replaced the mics 🤔
I mean, take a listen 🤣 ua-cam.com/users/shortsgpoZ1f8TYUA?feature=share
You can try reaching out the DJI support to troubleshoot and possibly replace. You could have a faulty unit.
I asked a question in a previous video, but you never responded. Thanks. 🤔💬
Sorry! I've been slacking on comment responding since Julian started standing/nearly walking.
Hi I need to do the v log with I phone or Samsung even camera pro which mcrophone is best
Either Rode or DJI would work.
great review! I need to increase my audio game!
I’m curious how much you worked on the audio in post (mostly around the jet ski riding past you part) because it seems the devices really balanced out the background noise really well.
No audio editing. That wouldn't be fair in a sound test video.
Thank you for toturial ma'am
Nice review. I’ll be buying two. 👍👍
$400+ for the mic though. Seems overpriced.
It's not cheap, but I trust it will last a long time.
