Thanks for sharing this Jim. I never get bored of seeing these engines running. There's something very satisfying in watching them and the great noise they make, chugging away. I can tell you're very pleased with the end result Jim. Keep it up mate. Cheers Nobby
Thanks Nobby it amazing how many hours you can sink into mucking around with something. It certainly keeps one from ever being bored. The toother timing belt broke on my lathe the other day and I have had to mail order in a replacement.....I'm going stir crazy not having my lathe hopefully it turns up today!
The brass pull start pulley you made is really sharp on that engine. I did my flywheels in yellow, but I think your all red looks better on that beautiful base you made for it. It's great to see it running so well after all the work you put into it!
Running better now, well done. I wish they could output something that runs half decent from the start. It's been putting me off pre-ordering their newest engine.
Mine have all been sort of 'kit form' if it hadn't been for all the help so many others freely give some of them would be paper weights. I think I know the new one that you can preorder, it looks great and I'm very tempted. The governor setup on it looks like it could be a slower runner (fingers crossed).
One more coil off! She's still hitting too many times, when she's on no load. Don't be frightened about cutting it too short, as you can always restretch it a little. But we'll done. See you in the group!
Ok....you've convinced me...I'll snip another coil off 👍 I do like that suggestion that Henry made about putting the two small washers behind the gov weights, I think that made some difference.
