@@heavyarms55The USA is far beyond that path lol. Nobody in previous centuries before the formation of the Republic conceived of something like this being possible because nothing like this existed before to this extent. They could have looked to Italian City States for reference but may have not have had as much knowledge of them or worse saw them as role-models. The Florentine Republic controlled by bankers. The Venetian or Genoneese Republic controlled by trade moguls. The Greek City States or Roman Era City States were actually nothing like this lol. With the exception of Corinth and Carthage city states were not founded to promote oligarchic corpratoracies or banking empires🤣. They were founded as to protect rights of the people and create bubble of safety for communal values based around civic duty to prosper. Of course the founding fathers at the time had no way of knowing this.

Boy I sure do think this very fictional thing of corporations having completely unchecked power and the ability to do whatever they want is awful. Imagine how bad living in a society where everything is dictated by big corporations and their needs for profit instead of what would be good for society overall. @michaelandreipalon359 if you wanna write a story about a benevolent corporation that rules over people and the people are unjustly revolting against that then you're not being optimistic, you're just being naive about what corporations actually do at best. At worst, you're part of what's wrong with current society. Such a story these days would be the most tone-deaf thing to come out in a time where corporations are actively making everything shittier in order to raise their profit margins at the expense of everyone who isn't at the top.

The Han Solo books by Brian Daley are some of my personal favorite EU stories. They're no literary masterpieces by any stretch of the imagination, but they're filled to the brim with pulpy, freewheeling space adventure goodness. They also introduced so much lore that would influence future works to a surprising degree in both Legends and Canon.
I've always felt that the CSA has been underutilized as villains, with most works being content to stick to the usual suspects of the Empire/CIS/Sith. We got a small taste of what it could be like with the Preox-Morlana corporation in Andor, but the CSA's genocidal "profits before EVERYTHING" policies makes them look positively benign by comparison.

It’s dabbled with cyberpunk elements, but a story that fully embraces it could really work. Also, it’d be a breath of fresh air for the series. A source for what though? The Theory video takes the premise that the petition was written by Mollie (which it wasn't) and called for him to get demonetized (which it didn't) with the argument that it's because of people being jealous of them. He then spends the whole video talking about DMs from Alex, which are quite frankly fine? Maybe trying a little too hard to clarify he's not mad about the ad because he's approaching a guy he doesn't know yet? And who's involved by virtue of being Mollie's husband rather than ever having said or done anything with the petition or about Theory, and EckhartsLadder, who wasn't involved in anything either, by virtue of him being friends with Alex and Mollie- even though Theory opens the video talking about how he shouldn't be responsible for his friends "spicier" takes as he puts it, with them being much more inflammatory than just repeating "I'm really not made about the ads."
The reason I haven't said anything isn't because I lack a position. I know many of the people involved. I have responded in comments when people ask (or attempt to threaten me for my own friendship with Eck or Alex/Mollie), and shared certain things to make my position clear without getting into the nitty gritty, because I feel like the whole video genre comes down to drama being monetized. That is not my genre, and my contributing to it only grows that market, rather than having anything I would consider a positive effect, except maybe making me some money if the video attracts the kinds of views I don't really want in the first place.

It wasn't something specific to them and CSA in real life was not composed, founded, backed primarily by corporate entities. The Union's primary backbone on otherhand was gillded age industrial tycoons. True their workers had "rights" (hardly at the time) and were paid but people regularly died in the factories, mines, or construction projects operated by said corporations. Very little if any compensation was given to the families if or when this happened until the formations of the workers unions who pushed for better legal protections. It's old argument but not entirely untrue, to say part of the reason for the civil war was not just to free the slaves out the kindness of the unions heart, but a scheme by northern industrial magnets to wipe out the competition that the plantation model posed to their industrial models expansion.

You can't deny that before the Disney buyout Star Wars was he and his ex wifes passion project. Along with all the other writers who contributed to the lore in the old Exapnded Universe novels so many social media accounts base their channels around. They poured their life into it and created a life around it. He set out to tell a story and she helped bring it to life. They later added richness and depth.
Disney turned it into cash cow stripped of inspiration or understanding than completely milked the cow till dryness.
To adapt a quote Ian Malcom from Jurassic Park " I'll tell you the problem with the corporate buyout's like this: it didn't require any discipline to attain it. You read what others had done and you took the next step. You didn't earn the knowledge for yourselves, so you don't take any responsibility for it. You stood on the shoulders of geniuses to accomplish something as fast as you could and before you even knew what you had you patented it and packaged it and slapped it on a plastic lunchbox, and now you're selling it, you want to sell it! ". That's essential what Disney did or does now and like dinosaurs of Jurassic Park are no more actual dinosaurs than the cheap plastic kids toys you see in toy stores made in china.
It's a cheap copy based on the interpretation of somebody else's work without relying on any of the orginal guiding principles or framework the orginal creators used to bring their unique vision to life.

Corporatism and communism seem to be the same exact thing. All for power.

We love your analysis, Corey. You and Eck. But politics is too damn distracting these days.
We'll get back to the GFFA in a few months!
For now there's a lot of that "he is the traitOr-Ahh" meme IRL
