Toriko is a legitimately great series that will only be remembered for what a horrible person it’s author was. I love the world design with its abundance of unique food and stories of pure adventure. And the idea of everyone working their whole life to create a full course meal that tells the story of their whole life is fascinating.
The reason why you guys don’t know about Toriko as much as the others is because Toei tried pushing the anime so hard in Japan (with really weird merch like a pepper shaker shaped like a fist for example) that everyone got turned off. It also didn’t help that the anime is severely toned down from the manga, with almost all of the blood and violence being cut out.
I would just like to point out, as one of the 15 people who actually watched a non-zero amount of toriko, that the fist-shaped pepper shaker isn't a random weirdo merch choice, it's based on an actual item in the show. Apparently in that world high-end seasoning dispensers just... look like hands. It's never explained why, they just do.

My favorite chapter of toriko is when toriko woke up fully pregnant and in labor at the hospital while sonic the hedgehog was holding his hand tightly while they were both crying. Toriko didn’t k ow why he was pregnant, but he didn’t need to know at this point in time

So he just fucking goes around, and kills every monster he can find and with help of his little chef friend, he turns them into meals and eats them.
I can't believe someone actually acknowledged Toriko in 2023
Wow. Never expected anyone to be talking about this series in 2023. This manga is very obscure and exist as a hidden gem among Shonen manga. Here's hoping they'll talk about Kongou Banchou next.
The intro is so spectacular it changed my viewpoint on life and space, Salty is too OP
We meet again Heisenberg.
WHY ARE YOU EVERYWHERE
I didn’t know Heisenberg liked saltydkdan
@@vhproductionsthat’s also my question
You don't know how happy it makes me that others mentioned Toriko, not a lot of people talk about it, it was a good anime
I agree the cast was pretty fun and the plot was fun for a bit. My favorite stand out characters were Rock Lee, Don Flamingo and obviously Toriko who wanted to eat beasts.
Manga was good too, made me hungry
It was good untill something happened
@@makotonaegi4419 what happened?
I perfer the manga way morw but it's a great series regardless I get so happy when it's mentioned.
I just realized in you guys attempts of describing toriko you started describing baki
Makes sense, Toriko is basically baki and fist of the North Star characters in the world of monster hunter doing cooking competitions
I used to suffer so many different mental health issues and could barely get out of bed years ago. I could not handle day to day life before i was saved. I turned on my t.v. one day to see Toriko point at me and say "you too could be the great Toriko" and it changed me forever.
I loved that arc where Toriko and Toriki found those dark and light stones that turned into dragons and then there was that fight that lasted for 4 chapters
Pokemon Black and White
Our school had a trivia thing and the category was anime and all the other questions were normal shit like death note or dbz and then comes the one question where the answer was Toriko and nobody knew what the hell they were talking about
Unrelated to the video but since one piece was briefly mentioned, I want you to know Salty you're the one who got me to start One Piece. Its slow progress but you've done this to me.
One of the craziest things to happen while I was looking for Toriko Manga was 25% of the products was the actual manga and the rest were doujins. There is no way.
Ah yes, I remembered the time where Toriko was beefing up his right hand and hit that bad guy in the face with the power of the infinite herb, sending him high into the sky with consecutive punches, all before clasping his hands and shouting "thanks for the meal" before the bad guy lands face first on the ground with a shockwave.
I think I remembered that correctly.
Toriko easily had the most interesting environments in Shounen Jump, and some of those monster designs were absolute bangers.
he went toriko mode and toriko'd everywhere. i cried.
I got so excited when Toriko pulled his Toriko Trigger. That moment was so tense.
Is that a dmc5 reference
Glad to see that Gerber found his old microphone from the landfill
I loved it when Torirot split Toriko into Tor and Iko and then they had to both merge with the landmines to defeat Torirot and rebecome Toriko just to find out that Torirot was actually an evil Toriko from the future
this video made me laugh so much please post more videos of just you and your friends talking its incredible, i lost it when it got back around to salty winning the dog and naming it toriko
For the past 3 days this video has been my top recommended video no matter what video I’m watching or how many times i refresh the page LEAVE ME ALONE TORIKO
I just wanted to say that if you want a modern equivalent to Kurukuru-Kururin, you could play SpinFrog all aboard the frogcopter
5:43 I love how this one is actually true lol
my favorite toriko moment was when he toriko punched one punch man, im still in shock just thinking about it
I loved the part in Toriko where he plays Kurkurukururin with his friends but the fear of losing his dog made him become Super Duper Toriko for the first time. It was the coolest power boost in anime, even if he still came in last place.
Thank you for getting me started on Toriko its actually so fire
Salty is the most powerful anime MC of all time
Yes
Wtf
Salty could beat Goku
This is the Greatest Toriko video I've ever seen, thank you Mikey, Gerber and especially Rocket and Derek too ig
I cried when Toriko just ripped the mightiest of ass in the butt plug arc, just to shoot his mind controlling plug at Funny Valentine. It was a weird JoJo crossover
I loved it when Toriko said “It’s implodin’ time!” And imploded the submarine. So cool
lmfao
I scrolled down and instantly got it and came back to say lmao
The timing on this is wild since I just started my re-reading of this series.
This is such an unexpected video lol. I never proper got into Toriko but I remember it being a lot of fun when it came out.
My favorite chapter of toriko is when toriko woke up fully pregnant and in labor at the hospital while sonic the hedgehog was holding his hand tightly while they were both crying. Toriko didn’t k ow why he was pregnant, but he didn’t need to know at this point in time
My favorite Toriko moment was when he became a bomb and blew up all the meteors and then he became died but revived through cheese food.
I love the part when Toriko said “We live in a society.” And Toriko punched Murray.
This video sent me on a fucking Rollercoaster of emotions from nostalgia, remembering reading the first few chapters of Toriko in Shonen Jump, to hilarity ensuing as I memed the fact none of my friends knew what Toriko was, then I started reading the manga to collect more meme fodder AND THEN I FELL IN LOVE WITH TORIKO. I AM TORIKOS BIGGEST FAN I LOVE HIM. THE MANGA IS GOOD GODDAMNIT 😂😂😂
EDIT: THE SHORT DUDE KOMATSU IS THE SAME FUCKING AGE AS TORIKO. THEY ARE 25 BEGINNING THE MANGA AND 29 AT THE END 😅😂😂😂
ALSO TORIKO LOSES LIMBS LIKE 2-3 TIMES AND HE GROWS ONE BACK, THE OTHER HE REATTACHES LIKE VELCRO
My favorite piece of Toriko lore is that Toriko and Komatsu (his sidekick who looks like a kid) are the same age.
Tokiro is like the product of an AI Shonen Jump manga creator. Little pieces of every popular IP crammed into one pulsating mass.
Dude. I watched this literally days before you released this. I forgot to watch it. I am watching it now and this is literally the funniest shit I’ve ever seen also I’m five b%Ng hits deep so there’s all that. Core memory glad you made this
I like to imagine salty has one fan that takes things literally and thinks his friends actually hate him
The funny thing is, the only thing that is keeping Toriko relevant in the Japanese manga and Anime community is a weird fucking food grinder commercial (Which was animated by Naotoshi Shida BTW) which became a bit of a meme recently.
My favorite part of Toriko was when he met the OMORI cast and they shot a crossover episode where toriko got pushed down the stairs instead
12:45 the part where they point out him breathing in the microphone, the way he walks, and the awkward laugh is exactly how I make fun of one of my friends. All they needed to was tell Dan he smells
Toriko straight up looks like a parody anime character in another show.
I got excited bc I thought I was literally the only American who really enjoyed Toriko, and then Salty uploaded this.
Needless to say I'm highly amused.
My favorite part of Toriko is when he said "It's Toriko time!' and he Toriko'd all over those guys
YES FINALLY THE EDITED VIDEO THIS IS MY FAVORITE STREAM!! ^^
Bruh i was unironically fascinated by Toriko when i saw a chapter of it in Shonen Jump wtf 😂😂😂 im gonna go read all 300+ chapters RIGHT NOW
I've rewatched this a couple of times now and I love the Shrek 2 DVD menu bit so much it's so well-done
When Goku tried bombing turiko and turiko countered it with a landmine i literally cried
I don't know what it is but just salty shooting the shit with friends is the funniest thing to me, like it really strikes me
My favorite part was when toriko said “it’s toriko’ng time” and toriko’d all over the village
Wow. I actually watched this show this year and it got me crying a couple of times. Then finished the manga. Definitely my favorite Shonen anime in a long time.

@@143Ollie lol who doesn't?
@@Me_funni you’re correct:)
@@143Ollie thx. :)
I grew up with this show cause my brother used to be obsessed with it
I loved the part when Toriko went to a church and asked God to kill Peter Parker, meanwhile, Spider-Man was in the bell tower of the church getting the symbiote off of him, and it unfortunately landed on Toriko, turning him into Torivenom.
That intro was so close to making me go insane and start living up to my name, thanks Donkey Kong
