The 2013-2015 Panigale 899/1199 are the most beautiful bikes ever made. I wish I could have one, but I mostly ride to work and back, so I cant justify the cost (they are still really expensive in Norway. 899 is around 20k aud and the 1199 is around 30k) Hope you get some nice rides to calm down in the stress of having a newborn. Stock exhaust is Crazy loud, especially in idle. Cant hear whatever bike next to a stock 899 in idle. I love it. Did you know its got a quickshifter? Also Works very Well. I just bought that bikes brother, a white 1199s for 15k with the full titanium termis and it wasn't even through break in yet. Same thought process. Reminds me of the white one you test rode by the beach In the 636 days
I bought the 959 corse version of this a few months back, all the things you said about the bike were spot on. I found I kept catching the highbeam button on when engaging the clutch lever which was mildly annoying but I adapted and took it as a user error rather than the bikes fault. Also I live in the UK and the exhaust does get massively hot and the uk spec has the shotgun exhausts, which id like to change later on. Its an awesome beautiful bike to ride!
Fantastic choice! Have owned two 899s, and will again. Only mod I would 100% recommend is the throttle spacer, takes up a little slack that the throttle has and makes it a much more direct feel. Super easy install and costs absolute peanuts (it's just a tiny plastic wedge). Enjoy!
The biggest reason to get an aftermarket pipe in a duc isn’t the sound, it’s the heat. The standard pipes trap all the heat under your legs. My 2 cents from my own personal experience

Nice purchase! I have a 2014 899 in Red, owned it since new. They aren’t the fastest bikes (until the motor spins up above 7k) but damn do they look and sound good. You feel so cool when riding it. With a very stock bike I would recommend swapping the footpegs with something better. All it takes is a bit of moisture and your feet will slip around a lot on the stock pegs. Termis are objectively better sounding but probably not enough to justify the price. Oh and you may want to get a lower radiator guard… it’ll get pretty chewed up if you leave it exposed.
I bought an 848 4 years ago for 8k with 7000 on the clock. Never ridden in the rain. The smaller ducati twins are soooo undervalued especially as they are the identical bike (except for engine) as their larger siblings. I rarely ride it as I have the gs tiger 900 and Tuareg but find myself myself going out to the garage to just look at it and start it up cos I can. The 70mm termi race system it came with is pure sex especially without the sound of a dry clutch to spoil it. Look forward to seeing you on the road. Yes the heat is a killer. I don't ride mine over 25 degrees. A tip for you. Adventure / flip helmets aren't a great choice on a ducati. The viewport is too low in the helmet. Sports and race helmets are much nicer to wear and reduce neck strain.
Look up ducati spacers, they make a heat shield kit which definitely helps and a spacer to sort out the slop in the throttle i personally found them to be a great addition to the bike.
I subscribed when you had the triumph before the s1000rr. Kinda tuned out for offroad stuff..i wish you tried to ride the 959...way more predictable thrn 899.

Absolutely awesome, one of the best looking bikes ever (especially in the white). The only thing that stops me from getting a Ducati is that heat as you said - bad news, it is not just a summer thing... you have to actually ride with your legs splayed apart a lot of the time because of how damn hot they get. Currently on a Daytona, and they can get hot but it's nothing compared to a Ducati. Deal breaker for me.
What a beaut! Nearly got one too, but decided for a 21 Aprilia tuono V4. Mostly because of the ergonomics and the price was the same. Man These Bikes hold their value strong! Used 2013 pani 899 was the same price as a used 21 Aprilia V4.. yeah No brainer. But i need a Pani in my life at some Point and you Bring that thought Back Up haha 😂👍 so Happy for you! On a Side Note maybe consider getting new tires. As you Said, they are 10 years old what i consider "risky" on a Sport Bike. We really dont want to See you and that beauty in the doch 😂

I came from sports bikes rather than adventure bikes. I am sick of the egos of sports bites however even in my 20s they bothered me but I’d never admit it to my mates.😅 Last year I bought myself an SFV4S Ducati it’s the most bonkers bike I’ve ever ridden and that includes any sports bike. I have all the power of a sports bike but would lower down torque and a comfortable riding position. I’m planning a trip from Ireland to Spain later in the year. Like your Ducati, the sound from this thing is incredible and to be honest with you it’s the only Bike I have not wanted to change the exhaust on. No heat issue cause she’s naked 😉 I don’t really buy the ‘you can’t use it on the road’ argument regarding thousand cc bikes. Of course you’re not gonna sustain the speed they can do but no matter where you are in the world.,You can have a blast of speed on a clearstraight. Also 1000 cc bikes make more sense for the road as you’ve got a huge amount of grunt and overtaking Power regardless of what gear you’re in there’s no need to drop two or three gears to overtake anything If you’re very honest with yourself anything over 600 even 400cc is too much for the road they’ll all break the speed limit with ease. Your bike is stunning love the white congrats on both the baba 👧 and the bike enjoy .
The 899 Panigale is not a normal uncomfortable sportsbike It is the absolute most uncomfortable sportsbike ever built, period. I've ridden countless sportsbikes. I've also done loads of 500km rides, but nothing I've ever ridden has made me as sore for 2 day's as a 500km long ride on the 899 Panigale did. But it's still a frigging great bike 👌 . Well done

My mate bought a 2014 899 a year ago with low kms. Standard bike and i couldn't believe as well when riding it how loud the stock pupes are and how it passed testing. I rode it on a 30 degree day and said the same regarding the heat. It'll cook you. Aside from that shes a fun thing to ride

Not that I think this Ducati is bad, just a bit od to compare "these days - reliability" when sitting on an older bike. Jealous though, would love an 899, seems to be such a good happy medium, but reckon my wrist won't thank me.
There are like 4-5 white 1199s’s in Australia and I almost bought one when looking for this 899, was like $25k though so just went for the 899, still can’t believe I got to ride one like 10 years ago!

i have heard that putting water wetter in the coolant helps and also getting the reflective tape for the seat and panels helps alot too
