    How can the seat be uncomfortable for short trips and comfortable for long trips? That doesn’t make any sense to me.

    • @801ryno5
      @801ryno5  2 роки тому

      Vibration.. longer highway miles, higher rpm's. For whatever smooths the ride..

      If you have a bike for a bar hopper or just city riding a few miles, this ain't for you. It takes 500 to 1500 miles to break in. Once it's broke in, it's worth the $. If you don't do the miles, you'll trade off the bike before you break it in.

    I bought the saddlemen step up seat extended reach and I felt closer to the tank than the stock seat on my road glide. Watching this is making me wish I went with the road sofa extended reach which I might still. I’m 6 foot with long legs. Did this seat actually put you away from the tank 2 inches as they claim?

    Thanks for the review from a person that actually use it. Not giving you shit but I still don’t understand them handlebars you remind me of a 70s skidoo snowmobile.

      Lol, I was never lucky enough to ride one, so I can't say in comparison. But the 15" lucky daves heavy hitters, really handled amazing! In corners 2 up, I could tell a massive difference between stock and a set of 12" motorwitch bars. They may look silly but made for an awesome ride. Thank you for watching and dropping a comment! Cheers, bro!

    Hey, trying to decide if I should go with the rider backrest. Does your wife have enough space on the passenger seat with the rider backrest in place? Thanks 😎

    • @801ryno5
      @801ryno5  16 днів тому

      She does, but it kinda locks her in place like a kid seat, lol. It does limit her leg movement, but nothing she couldn't handle. She is still a trooper for a 600-mile day.. The back rest slides in and out easy, very clean design. So, it makes it easy to choose before you ride. I recommend it even if you only use it every now n then. Hope this helps, cheers!

    I was just talking about this with a guy yesterday. The actual "reviews" are few and far between. I am interested in the comfort of it. I don't care about the unboxing BS.

    How much do you weigh? I think that has something to do with break in period. Big boys seem to break them in a bit earlier than the lighter guys.

    I just put this in my road king. Literally just put it on so no miles yet. However it definitely helps with how your legs/feet fit on floorboard. Feels so good. It is stiff, I know will break in. I have a lot of buffing to do on my tank, where I have more tank exposed now. Sure hope that buffs out. Other than that, have a great seat position now. It also looks great.

    I have the road sofa. I glad you said the break in was closer to 5k miles. I have about 3k miles in mine, and I was starting to get worried. I was thinking about going to a mustang. I average about 400 miles a week with longer rides on the weekends.

    What bike do you have? Road glide limited or road glide special? Depends on what seat you started with. You said it sits you down about an inch lower than stock. I don't want to sit any higher than my stock seat. I have an 2009 electra glide classic. And I like the height of the street/ road glide seat. Thanks for the "real honest review".

      Road glide special.. i miss my 2009 Electra glide classic. Such a great bike. I used same seat on both bikes and I feel it sat me lower on both compared to their stock seat.

    Ya man I totally agree that what you want a stiffer seat to absorb all the vibrations and tackle some miles. I own one as well. Only owned it for a year now. Thanks fpr the review good stuff.

    Just put my 1st 130 miles on my new rs ls so far so good. Stiff yes, I wished I bought it sooner , I really pack the miles on 16000 in less then a year and I store the bike in the winter. Hoping for a good seat after breaking in. What do you use to condition and soften the material up?

    • @801ryno5
      @801ryno5  6 місяців тому

      Hope the seat is treating you well! I use leather treatment I get from the local auto parts store. I bought the brand mulligans.

      Yes! I definitely felt like with every time it helped. I also washed it, at the same time I washed my bike (I just left it on as I washed the bike lol). Then would treat with the leather spray after it dried. But it did get softer

    Question: Can one disassemble the backrest, put washers in the “joints” to help stiffen it up so it doesn’t fall forward?

      Nice! I’m stuck between the Le’pera kick flip daddy long legs and this seat. I’m 6-5 , so more than seating me two inches back, i want a seat that sits me up 2 inches also. Currently been rocking a HD tall-boy seat, it doesn’t push me back far enough

    • @801ryno5
      @801ryno5  2 роки тому

      Haha, well. If you do more miles at higher speeds ( in theory stiff is what you want ). Depends on personal preference in my opinion. Gotta go with the seat that fits you and your riding best, whatever brand you buy.. this is more of my own experience with the seat and for the guy who is on the fence on weather or not they should drop the coin on it.
