It is true that after some hours of recording , especially if you mainly record in your house , you get so familiar with typical sounds generated by known sources , you know how to spot a genuine evp ( unidentifiable source ) .
You can also (in time) be able to hear the change in frequency. It stands out among the other audio voicing and white noise. Eliminate as much contamination as you can. Thanks!

I’m just learning how to do paranormal investigations - even though I’ve watched them for years on tv (ghost hunters, dead files, kindred spirits..etc)..
1. How do you know where to go do investigations? Just Google search of haunted places? How do you know if they allow investigations?
2. How do you best find paranormal groups to go on investigations with? Especially being new and not doing it before it would be great to actually shadow people that have more experience..
3. Do you have favorite publications or websites you use for equipment and to gain more knowledge regarding all things paranormal?

1. I’m in with many groups but google places near you to start with.
2. I do internet searches all the time to find teams. There are several websites to find or join teams. Tuff getting replies.
3. eBay, market place and even Amazon. Depends what you’re looking for.
Hello Tom, great video big thumbs up, Tom is it better to get a digital recorder that has variable speed play back, I want to buy a new digital recorder but I'm on a tight budget, I have been looking for a decent inexpensive ($30 - $40 range) purchase that won't break the bank. I have looked a few that have the variable playback speed and was wondering if they would help you out better with hearing "EVP's" when reviewing & listening to your play back investigations recordings ???
Glenn T. Just noticed this post. Sorry. Focus on the software program to change speeds. Keep it simple in the field. The Olympus 852 can be found in the $30 to $40.
ive never ghost hunted before but i would like too so to make up for trying to be quiet why not use a book to write down things you wanna say, plus if you are using a spirit box you could use the book to write down the ghosts responses
Your prep of the history of a location pretty much prepares the question in advance. Your in the dark so reading requires a flash light that I only use when needed. This is great advice for someone starting out. Everything is being recorded with audio and video so no need to write it down. Thanks for watching!

Which olympus recorder do you recommend?

You can adjust the volume down. The Olympus I use goes from 1-30. I set all of mine at 25. This reduces the distortion and clipping. Sorry that’s about it.

Yes I have had some really crazy EVP’s that bothered me. Many that involved my name. So they can be aggressive. Yes I do a team prayer before we enter and a different prayer for leaving. Never had an issue.

but what setting do you use to hunt ghosts.
I use factory settings on my recorders. You can adjust EQ settings but using several recorders during an investigation can cause differences so I try to stay with a standard across the board. The Presonus Studio One cleans it up for me during review.

Can you just use ur phones generic voice recorder to get EVPs? I used mine one night n transferred it to text n it was like lots of disembodied voices talking at once but the room was SILENT!!! lije wtf is thst ABOUT?!!! I'm freakn out atm i live alone!
I don’t allow phones on investigations. They will set off devices such as REM Pods, KII meters. I eliminate as much possible contamination as I can so I can produce the best audio.
I never investigate in my home. I never turn on and use any devices. Never ask questions. Never had an issue or anything to report.
@@SGS365 well it picked up inaudible voices ALL night! On my BASIC voice recorder app on my android! The wave o graph was full and it seemed like at least 20 ppl were talking into my phone but i cuddnt hear it just speech to text in words!
@@TinaLouise73 invest in a voice recorder. Set the volume less than max. Record and ask questions allowing time in between for replies. Be as quiet as possible. Make it so everything is off in the house. Dishwashers, wash machines etc. listen back with headphones. See what you get. Let’s see if this gives you direction.
Wav or MP3. Which recording is best for evp. So many people says wav. But always i am confused.
