Gosh this was a great interview. I’m a longtime reader of Terry’s work and to my mind no one gives better, more thoughtful, clear, and fair analysis of the religion beat than him, especially when it comes to complex topics with lots of moving parts. George on AU is probably a very close second. But Terry is just unrivaled.
Imagine living in a world where software designers think its great to have ballons and confetti dropping from the ceiling as serious-minded men try to hold a conversation. What a joy to be alive...
Soooooooo ironic, that a common form of sarcasm about journalism -- scare quotes -- is interpreted as celebration. What a world we live in.

Hi Kevin and Terry, Christos anesti! Best show yet, excellent. The Orthodox churches are totally neglected. A few years go the Patriarch of Constantinople visited Boston but there was no mention made anywhere in the media that he was here. Have the other Orthodox churches criticized Putin's invasion of the Ukraine? The best line - his only one- was Pope Francis's comment to the Patriarch Kiril that he wasn't Putin's altar boy. What about the Orthodox response to the many political and social issues that plague America and the world? Any comments on the fact that many of the Orthodox clergy and religious in Palestine are non-Greek but rather Palestinian Arabs. As far as education goes, that ship sailed decades ago. What is most disturbing is the abysmal lack of critical or logical thinking today, both students and professors. One can invariably stump them by demanding proof. Just prove it! You mentioned U2. About 10 years ago I was in conversation with a student at a very prestigious university who mentioned U2. I asked: "What's U2?" Her answer was one of dismissal and disgust: "It's only the biggest rock band in the world that's all". Mea culpa. It's only going to get worse. Edmund Burke was prescient when he said "Darkness and thunder rest upon the future". Thanks for a great show.
There is a theological term for the Orthodox Churches that are mostly aligned with one ethnic group and or country. Autocephalous?

Great episode. I wonder whether it will lead to Kevin and George wanting to be more evenhanded in their coverage in future?! Terry said that that includes respecting the views of those with whom you disagree. So no more being told my views are demonic please, gents. Incidentally, listening to reports of Gaia masses and such like, I wonder whether the US extremes may colour Kevin and George’s horror at C of E liberalism. We’re not quite that extreme, although there is a (to my mind, perfectly respectable) non-realist strand within UK Anglicanism.

Freud was right. Sex is one of the most motivating forces in the universe. To control other's sexual lives is the ultimate control. Of course you're going to increase converts (revenues) that way.
