What an insult to place Christi as 4th RU over Baguio. Lol
*I think they should all know what they are up against entering this pageant. Regardless of "once a Binibini" or a 1st RU or 2nd RU what have you or wherever, you start from scratch as you chose to compete with other hopefuls, again. I personally don't think there is pun intended or insult here. By virtue of the Q&A, each of them sealed their own fate to destiny. Just my personal opinion.*

Hey Ms Bulacan has it all. She deserved the crown, walked elegantly and calmly, not exaggerated, answered questions simply and eloquently . She has it all.
Watching Chelsea's post-pageant interviews and guest appearances makes me nervous. While I agree that she has a charming personality and very good pasarela skills, she still lacks the aura of a Miss Universe. I don't think it can be acquired through training, but Ms. Taguig embodies it all.

I knew Bulacan is better than Taguig, dami kasing pa emeeme ang ibang candidates na to the point naging OA na Sila masyado specially sa evening gown. May mga gestures na nakakatawa nalang sila tingnan. Daming movements talaga na mukhang ewan. Pero Taguig is doing good so far naman.
Oh yeah bhie, very true ka dyan, ang ibang candidates parang naging OA talaga daming gestures na hindi na naman maganda tingnan specially sa evening gown naloka ako ng very light😂.. Although wala akong naging bet sa kanila kasi parang boring na dahil sa mga fans na daming comparison sa kanila, pero once BULACAN came out in that evening gown although it looks simple but.. But with that white furry cape oh my that looks divine on her❤
Let me give my thought on why she became the 4th RU. It is because of her answer. The way we think of her answer wasn't the same with the way the judges think of her answer, especially the male judges. Christi mentioned in her answer that women are still being limited by being shadowed by men in society. The male judges, and probably the female judges too, might not agree with that statement. Different people have different thought on this, and most men would counter such a statement. And she did not clarify more on what she did to inspire the women to be powerful and own their own destinies as she mentioned. When I listened to her answer that night, I was like "Don't stop there, keep talking! Speak!" because I was rooting for her and Ahtisa to be in the top 2. Of course I have my thoughts too on Ahtisa's answer, but tbh Miss Bulacan's answer was the best.
She's a pageant veteran, having pasarella coach and Q&A training. Her performance was really sub par. Have you heard her speak any Filipino dialect? Is she really Filipino or just claiming it.
Still licking my wounds over this 4th runner up choice they gave McGarry. You hit the nail on the head on this Luis, point by point. I wish to see her on another stage, stronger, brighter. Thanks for the review
Here the question is not that whether Taguig became miss universe or not....But as a pageant lover I didn't understand her place as 4th Runner up....if she got the place of 1st runner up, it would be more good for me. But they left me shocked.

Christy can join Miss USA and am sure she can be a formidable contender. For that matter, since this year's MUPh candidates are all world class beauties, those representing Filipino communities abroad who did not quite make it can try joining their respective country's MU pageants. Their experiences at MUPh can surely make them a cinch for the crown. VVV can be a noteworthy bet for New Zealand. Same for the candidates of Filipino communities in UK, Australia, Florida, Northern California, Southern California, Hawaii, etc. Would it not be exciting to see them competing at MU stage of their respective countries, and reunite with Chelsea in Mexico?
@JayMartel24 Does Christy have a Canadian passport? If so, she better join MU Canada, to give way for the other outstanding MUPh alumni from Northern California, Southern California, Florida, and Hawaii.
Christi grew up in New York but decided to settle here in PH more than a decade ago.
I'm really rooting Cristy to get the Crown,.when her name called as 4th runner up I was shocked.

In her evening gown presentation, she reminded me of Monica Spear or a morena version of Monica’s. What an apparition! I really think she has what it takes to do well on the MU stage. She has the face.

Thank you for the video Luis. I hear your sincerity in your words. The fact that everyone can describe her performance using all the exact words states itself that Christi made an impact to everyone that witnessed her light.
I think you stating that "we don't know what the judges are looking for" made me realize that this organization or even the industry itself may have changed to something we all knew about pageantry. The judging may not be about scores anymore.. Before, there were announcements on who won each category. Before, judges' scores would even be released. Before, it was never this obvious for a delegate to not get the flowers or crown they deserved.
Maybe it needs to be changed to "Miss Universe Phillipines Casting". And there would be nothing wrong with that! lf anything it would cause left confusion and give more acceptance to any of the results. It's like going for a job, and finding the right fit for the position needed at the time and place is perfectly understandable. But if we are calling it a competition, then let the facts speak for itself.
Nonetheless, like what you said, Christi showed us DEFINITIONS. And she will always be an example of what a true queen is with or without a crown.
Christi is obviously one of the top performer.... Maybe the judges consider knowing how to speak the Filipino language as a quality they are looking for in the Winner? I noticed i havent heard her speak tagalog. But she is stunning and she was among the top 5 out of 53 contestants. She should be proud that's really good actually because this was a tough competition.

Yes, what happened to Christi McGarry??? Let’s discuss…
I like Bulacan and was hoping she had made Top 5, but the win was a big surprise.
Even if the Organization didn’t want to take a risk crowning Christi because of her age, 1st runner-up should have been the lowest placement for her.
But since we are talking about IT, it’s possible the results were read in reverse order.
Winner - Taguig
1st Runner-up - Gaguio
2nd Runner-up - Quezon Province
3rd Runner-up - Cainta
4th Runner-up - Bulacan
This is a more realistic Final placement.
Luis I doubt very seriously that the Organization doesn’t have anything to do with the decision.
It’s their organization and through interacting with the contestants they already discussed and know which contestant they want to work with.
The judges may hand over a sheet of paper but before the announcement is made the Organization usually will review it, question anything unexpected and make any changes as they deem necessary.
After all it’s their Organization.
Why the top 5 candidates were not asked the same question (similar format to Last year’s MUPh and MU)? Does it sound biased or already fixed who they want to crown?

Was rooting for Chrisit from the beginning. Her performance in the finals feels like she's already in Miss Universe! Love her much. Shocked with he placement. Should have been higher.
I was rooting for her for the crown. There was nothing wrong with her at all during the competition. She did an excellent job, almost perfect to my opinion. The confidence, the class, the poise, the wit, and the commanding voice name it and she has it.
I feel like the question was meant for her personal experience as a filipina woman, not the society. Like most of the questions for the other candidates, they were asked for personal oponion. Nevertheless, any of them could best represent the Philippines in the international stage.
I believe that the previous cumulative scores of the top 5 were discarded,erased . They started with equal footing. I think the outcome , result was based on their response to their individual questions... poised under pressure, delivery of the response, and content of answer.
Regal bearing must probably taken into consideration.. just my thoughts.
As always, most frontrunners fall during the question and answer.. I totally respect her right to her response .

Cainta should have won the crown if the judges based it solely on the Q&A. It breaks my heart since Chelsea's performance is also not flawless. I completely agree that Ms. Bulacan deserves a crown, but not for the MUPH.

It was Bulacan who delivered the realistic, not dramatic, not upset , response.. she was talking to everyone with her eyes...Also take into consideration the delivery of the answer.. Congratulations to Bulacan but just like all of us we have our favorite to win.. mine was VVV Bacoor from day one up now. the above is just my opinion and observation and not to criticize.

It's true. I agree with ur review. Basing from her performance. She should have a higher placement . If not the most coveted title, 1st runner up at least.. But then again, judges' decision prevailed. Congratultions to all the winners. it was a tough fight for all the candidates. Chelsea's winning is no question at all...both cristy and chelsea are my top ranked from the begining of the competition., im just sad for cristy. I wished to see them as the last two girls standing that time.❤
When the top 5 was annonunced I was hoping that she will get the crown. Sad but it is what it is. For ever a barbie doll just beautiful.
For the last time, I hope Miss Taguig will join again next year. It was not her time during MUPh 2024.
4th runner up to the next miss universe was an insult. Honestly the fact that she didn't win was like a blade through my heart. Huge mistake. The new queen is great but this one could have won the miss universe competition.

Christy’s answer was typical pageant answer. Nothing mind blowing. Unpopular opinion but she does not have an umph. She’s insanely stunning but she’s more like a runway or commercial model, to me lang ha.
I agree, she's a pageant veteran but still hasn't improved. She can only speak English but lacking substance. Even her swimsuit walk isn't polished until now. To think that she has pasarella coaches for many years. Why Luis said she "set the bar so high" is really questionable. The way she posed during evening gown really made me cringe, I thought her breasts would be coming out. And the shoulders moving while her eyes closed looks more like a porn trailer. She set the bar so low.

firstly, i'm happy for chelsea manalo's win. she was such a revelation! i wish her good luck and hope that she brings home the crown. initially i was rooting for atisha but during the peagent itself, i saw a new beauty queen in the person of miss taguig. a possible miss universe. the face, the aura, the height, the way she walked and answered the question, a real contender and a possible winner. though she didn't took home the crown, i think she deserves a higher placement

Christi got one of toughest question to answer of all five. I just cant believe that she got 4th than Baguio. Baguio should been 4th she was all over the place on her answer than Christi. Christi answer should have been more impactful and substance but the question a little tough than others.

i was so sad when christi ended up as 4th runner.i really don't know why judges didn't see christi's potential when in fact she has all the qualities that mu is looking for.
I sat in the Lowerbox premium section at the venue and witnessed the crowd's disbelief when Taguig was announced as the 4th runner-up. Despite not being a vlogger, I've been a pageant enthusiast since the days of Sushmita Sen. Watching Miss Universe annually, reading articles, and following numerous beauty pageants, I believe Taguig could have been a strong Philippine representative in Mexico. With some refinement in her walk, similar to what MMD did, her height, beauty, and wit could have conquered the universe. She's the Miss Universe Philippines we've been missing. While I'll continue to support Chelsea Manalo, my heart goes out to Christi Mcgarry; she truly deserves a higher placement.

McGarry's makeup was too dark she reminded me of Thalia in the Mexican Telenovela "Marimar" as a rich version of Marimar

Ngl from the moment she introduce herself to q and she have it all. and he face card, she has the miss universe beauty. she even looks like a latina. That night, she has the miss universe glow. No she's not! Although Maganda yong gown ni Taguig pero I really didn't like her movements sa evening gown especially sa part na yon.. Her swimsuit is better than her evening gown..daming mga unnecessary gestures na di naman Bagay.. Not only to her pati ibang candidates dami nilang mga gestures na nagmukha silang OA tingnan.
Her answer about limited opportunities for women I don’t think so, more women today handle much higher positions than men.

She speaks fast compared to Chelsea, eloquent and anunciate words clearly/neutral. Her voice is a bit husky. Honestly, I dont like d gown, sorry. But other that, shes OK.🫰👍
For me, if not Alexie be the MUP, I would rather have Miss Taguig; she has all, so if she wins that night, I have no doubt she can bring the crown. The judges are blind.

Christy was my top pick for Miss Universe Philippines. I was dumbfounded when she was announced as 4th runner-up. No offence meant against the other ladies, but she definitely outperformed the other 4 with her elegance, grace, wit & communication skills.
Christy McGarry only placing 4th runner up is the biggest travestry of the night... Like even her co-top 5 are visibly shocked when her name was called as 4th runner up.... I would normally say that she should try again next year but I highly doubt it with Jonas and the team pulling stunts like this... Like seriously the placements of the girls are all over the place... Athisa should have gone to Supranational and Tara should not have been in Top 5 imho.

Taguig deserves a better place, not Baguio and Pampanga. It's true, once a Binibini, will always be a Binibini. Miss U PH is losing credibility that is why they will never get a Miss U crown. Good luck to Chelsea.
Absolutely insane placement. No shade at all to the gorgeous bulacan but Christi has the IT factor and insane aura - she deserved much better than she got even if it wasnt top placement. I think this only shows that MUPH org doesnt deserve such a candidate, go where you are respected and desired and this is not the place for such a superstar!
When she amazingly look and talk like a MissUniverse and presented like a MissUniverse level performance (not over the top gimmicky nor sound theatrically rehearsed). She even answered inside the time limit before the bell and wasnt cut "short." 😂 Whoever can read this, sorry not sorry but local pageantry loves their own magical cooking hocus focus, dont they? 😂 Quite obvious this time though. ✌🏼
Asked my dad who's oblivious about pageantry, he picked TAGUIG among the 5 and was also surprised she didnt win. 😂
Taguig is also my choice for MU during finals but we need accept her fate because she didn’t answer the question proper.. at first, i thought she has the best answer because the way she sound impactful.. but when i listened again to her answer to the question, she is the only one who didn’t answer the question. The question is about her but she answered “every Filipino”.. I sad she didn’t get the crown.. but Bulacan deserves also the crown

I think she is basically a super model. What a FACE - as beautiful as any of the other contestants and as beautiful as the winner who has an AMAZING face. I am not so fussy about bodies but even I can see her body is perfection and like you say her beauty is TIMELESS.
Plot twist of pageantry! I still can’t wrap my head around the outcome…I love Tarah and I’m proud of all the girls but I’m shocked by her top 5 placement over VVV & Zambales & Co. It was over for me when VVV didn’t make top 5, and my heart is still BROKEN for Christi as she said this was her last chance, what a waste of a great candidate. Having said that I’m very happy for Bulacaan for the history she’s made with the universe title in particular for the morenas, but a part of me wished she would’ve got Supra, just my thoughts!

Hi Luis! I want to hear your thoughts on VVV as well. She was one of the heavy favorites, after all. Maybe hearing your thoughts would make me have closure on her performance.
I know how you feel because VVV was my choice ,my favorite to win the crown.. at the onset of the competition until the end. She was unique. In my eyes regal, poised, confidently beautiful with superb communication skills. Her gowns in the preliminary and finals were stunning. She definitely to me can also compete head to head with others in MU. Hope she joins MU New Zealand and win. . the above is just my opinion.

The way I summed it all up was I have a feeling the judges didnt know how to score a certain categories of each heath I dont know if they were informed by the Org prior to the occassion or wasn't given bullet points what to look for a candidate. the next is, I dont like to sound bad but if there are people who doesnt want a certain candidate or a group of ladies this can be influenced thru the judges so that they wont win. Again this is what I heard from other candidates from other pageants that this is really existing.

I want to start by saying I think Chelsea is beautiful and what an exciting win for her. Such a beautiful choice.
That said, I was completely shocked about Christi. I, too, was convinced she had won the crown, so to see her finish as 4th runner up just made my jaw hit the floor. I'll put it up there with the same level of shock I felt when Natasha Joubert didn't make the finals at MU.
