Wheat breeders have been pushing for better yields for some time now. They have done so, but at a cost to hardiness. At least around me, the wheat varieties are more susceptible to drought and overall tough growing conditions. I am looking to go back to older wheat varieties that have worked better through thick and thin.
The other point to make about surplus production is that property taxes in some areas are based on the yield of corn, wheat and soybeans. When the bpa goes up it's possible that the property tax goes up too.
Not to mention it will cause lower prices and more farm consolidation. Bigger farms mean we are going the way of the Soviet Union. Collective farms are not a good idea IMHO. Even if they are privately owned. Bill Gates is wanting this to happen. He will be there buying more farmlands.
@@dalecoffing8655 Waxy corn is very good. I grew it for years. GMO corn is much more questionable. great for an ethanol plant to provide energy. But not as good for animals and people food in my opinion.
Sorry we had to switch to Non-GMO. Yes we've raised Waxy for years and it has been good to us. Great TW and premium has been worth the hassle. The end user has pushed for the Non-GMO.
I’m stunned. I’m not a farmer but as the grandson of one, I’m intensely interested in the farm to consumers food chain which is why I follow this channel along with a hundred others. You casually mentioned that Putin has previously publicly and succinctly stated that he will resort to using the last arrow in the quiver - nuclear weapons - if weapons requiring satellite-generated targeting data were used to reach deeper into Russian territory from Ukraine. Then you mention the Bloomberg report about the use of EXACTLY those weapons. Next you use your incredibly deep analytical skills to declare that this won’t escalate to a nuclear exchange. Thanks, after that I desperately wanted to know what corn is supposed to be worth in December. I wish you would have dedicated the balance of the broadcast to urging your audience to CONTACT THEIR REPRESENTATIVES AND SENATORS. Someone in our administration is declaring war without Congressional approval.
Its the age old problem price goes down because there is more grain than market demand. So we produce more thinking we will get more revenue per acre. Then there is a lot more grain than the market can use and the price goes even lower. I have seen it.
Good morning, weather nasty last night here in Wisconsin. Heavy rain and wind.

What state does that?

@mikeboettcher2547 Oklahoma is based on land value but don't think it's tied to production.
What is the nutritional value of this new wheat? This is what many consumers will ask. Farmers will need to take heed.
Waxy corn growers experienced same thing when switching to GMO.

If crude doesn't care, I don't either.
Good morning! Are Black Sea headlines still selling opportunities, or is this time different??
Perhaps Mexico should ask for waxy corn. Not yellow dent corn. For the right price, many farmers would grow waxy.

What could possibly go wrong?

This is a grain market show. We're not here to solve the world's problems.
Sitting on 3 years of production 😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂 …………. right 😏
Mark Zuckerberg moved his monster yacht to Thailand. I think that's where he's going to ride out the Apocalypse
If the wheat price keeps falling, we will need a wheat that produces 50% more. That's are only line of defense at this juncture. Sad but true...
