Yeah I'm not sure if it's the case of just in my head but I swear the helium is also easier to control than the rabbit in fusion not so much from wheel lifting.
Kinda sucks how good the helium is or how bad the mantis is, however you wanna look at it. Helium sounds like an old film projector and isn't nearly as fun to ride, but seems like I will probably have to use it quite a bit.
Nerd Strangler Ye I agree, also think it wont take much to make the mantis alot better, make it so you get abit more grip, and also make it abit lighter so fapping etc feels more viable and consistent
New to the game as of 3 months ago...I'm currently just completing Inferno 5 8 minutes faster than I currently have before I unlock Ninja tracks your videos are invaluable
@@UniversityOfTrials I actually really got a bit inspired to try some different things in some tracks because of your video "the wire" for frozen leviathan!
As much as I enjoyed this tutorial, I feel like the Hongkong Harbour one was more helpful. There you went into more detail and took your time explaining every single step, which helps immensely. Also the slow motions really help in reading off your controller input. Overall I'd say that this tutorial, compared to HK Harbour was more enjoyable to watch, but less helpful.

@@vitunpelle602 It's not so 'literally the fucking same', a tutorial for this on mantis could have more tips on controlling the bike especially at the two tyres and the last climbing.
@@DinirNertan I couldn't get past that last obstacle on the mantis. I tried so many times, and so many different strategies. I'm sure it can be done, but I just don't know how. Depressing to have to bail on the level after getting that far.
Did Inferno twice now...first time with Mantis in an utterly bad time and horrific mistakes in general, second time with Helium and reduced my time by more than 50% with 75% less mistakes. It´s definately way easier with Helium for me...as Inferno has lots of parts I really hate and which I cannot get any better in...Your tutorials helped a lot while playing Trials!
I always enjoy your tutorials, they are fun to watch and really helpful. For me I love this format compared to the detailed Japan one, but here's a new idea u could use: do both formats, this one from twitch for general tutorials, and the Japan format for DETAILED tutorials, where video editing is required to show in slow motion jumps/gaps/anything else of interest. Cheers Shady, u got a new follower on twitch :)
I imagine HKH's style is better for people stuck on a specific checkpoint, yet this style of video compliments a thorough explanation with an organic feel void of brakes and stops in between as you eloquently put it (how you would prefer people play the game).
I just finished inferno 5 for first time woohooo on helium!! Took a while but I got there! Had 10mins left to get up the slope before the finish line pheww
Thanks to this tutorial I have finally completed this track, it took me bloody 50mins but still iam really happy I finished it, only problem is afterwards it said connection lost and didn't register my score on friends list. Absolutely gutted lol
Sadly, from green to black belt it's mantis only. So i'm going through the other ninjas with the mantis beforehand, as it's way harder than the helium.
Got through this finally thanks to you. The next to the last checkpoint was brutal. The last hill climb was cake after watching what you did. I prefer this style, classic Shady, although the other is more polished. It’s the same reason I don’t like the tutorials, they lose your personality when you have a script. After watching so many of your videos, it just doesn’t sound like you.
I'm glad u asked that question at the end... FYI, your videos helped me learn to zero fault almost every extreme in Fusion. I believe the format you used in the Hong Kong Harbor tutorial has a much better verbal explanation than this one but there was too much slow motion. I prefer the real-time play in your other videos because it shows many of the other techniques that may not be mentioned but we see them anyway (like common ways to fault/recover along with much more).
I got an A+ on the time trial and what I did was flip over the first and second ramps. Then in the middle I got some momentum and flipped over two more. It's pretty hard but you'll get it with practice
The stadium finals are all about consistency and finding the right tempo for each track. Practice the individual tracks for each final before actually attempting the final race. Once you are constantly finishing first on every track by a decent margin, you should then attempt the final. Also keep in mind that you only need to be top 4 on track 1 and top 2 for the second, so the final track is where you really need to pull out the win. On tracks such as the ones in Bali, you are faced with an obstacle that pushes you back on the final track with a very slight bumps meant to put you off balance. For that part you should lean forward and keep a steady speed or you'll find that you get flipped backward. The main thing to remember is that practice is key to any successful run on a given track. Edit: Also remember that braking can be your friend, especially for those obstacles that launch you upward and not very forward. It can be a bit difficult to brake at the apex of the ramp, but doing so in a consistent manner will cut your times down drastically, and you'll have an easier time getting ahead of your opponents.
@@Crutches_Bob Also, the AIs in stadium finals are kinda stupid, on most of them, the AI faults at least twice on the third map, so you only need to be able to 0 fault it, you don't need a very good time
I noticed you did the same thing here that your ghost or you do in the trials university rear wheel bounce. You don't mention brakes at all but I turned on the controller inputs on screen and switched to your ghost and noticed you tapped the brakes sometimes before your bounce. I was thinking why the hell wouldn't he mention that... but it all makes sense now, instincts..... wish I had some of those. 😂
Man I struggled on the last two obstacles for days, always timed out. Then tried the Helium once on this track and got almost silver first try. I guess once I get better the mantis becomes more reliable on this track, but the Helium really surprised me there
I can't believe I just got a platinum on this. I don't get platinums on extremes, its just not my thing. Now to be fair, if it was any Trials pre-Rising I wouldn't have, because there is no way I'm 0 faulting Inferno 5, but I did manage a 5 fault and came in 13 seconds under plat. This and the fact I got a platinum on White Belt is shocking to me.
Got it with the Helium with 2 mins left and 12 faults to use up. That was after failing the track with the Mantis after faulting checkpoint 8 300 times.
Could you please do a video with slowmo like u did in the other extreme tutorials. This is way to fast to watch the details especially the controller inputs.
You not doing the fender flip was a facepalm moment lol, when i saw you trying to do the bounce off the pipe i was like nooooooo use the fender pull downnnn lol
How is a new player supposed to think the accel-brake-abusing speed control for cp6? I am trying to beat extreme tracks by myself before watching your walkthrough videos, but I had to give up for that checkpoint. My computer also gave up soon after, so I still have to try clearing this track! Update: cleared it with Helium after getting many max fault forfeit with Mantis. Why… why is it so much easier with this bike. I feel like getting really slowly better at passing the two tires with Mantis, but 500 faults always get faster.
did the helium get a buff in this game? that second to last checkpoint i struggle with but then i used the helium and nailed it in one try. Great vid as always Professor :)
There's contracts on those tutorials after you play through them once, I'm pretty sure the jacket is the reward from one of those contracts though I don't remember which. There's also UoT gloves, a helmet etc. that you can get so you can have a full set
I feel like the helium actually ruins the track imo. There's no reason not to use it and it is so much easier. I like the track for the most part but feel like the helium run should be the harder of the two
@@zk420zk lmao that's so not correct but alright. The helium is only good because it's a literal magnet. It's better on hard speedruna, extreme speedruna, and even some medium runs as well. The helium is a broken broken broken bike. Period. There's no objective argument to be made otherwise.
Any tips for the first obstacle? I've tried over 500 times on both bikes and only got through once. The rest of the level is hard but the first obstacle just makes no sense.
Left right left on the stick straight away, just to slam the back wheel down early on that second ramp. It’s the only obstacle that’s easier on the mantis if you need to practice I’d recommend using mantis just for that obstacle until you can do it.
hey professor. you was telling me about downloading tracks from a friends house because I don't have access to more extreme tracks. I went to a friends house with the new rising and I downloaded a few tracks. I got back home and noticed it still doesn't allow me access without being online or do you know if I'm not doing something right? whats the purpose of downloading if you can't play them offline?. please tell me I can access those I've downloaded without having to be online. hey since you have contact with the developers please bring it to thier attention that some of thier fans would like more extreme tracks and make it where we can go to a friends house and download tracks so that we can play later at home. thanks!
Helium makes the last checkpoint a joke. I found out by myself that if you just start from the bottom of the ramp, lean forward and slowly push the gas you will just climb very smoothly.
ServinItUp - How did you do that? Every time I tried that, I got about 10 ft up the ramp before it starts lifting my front wheel off the ramp, and that’s with me leaning all the way forward
I have been raging for the past 7 hours because i was doing the legendary rider contract i find your vid and do everything that you do but it is all luck based
I assure you none of it is luck. This game requires significant skill and practice and once you understand the physics, it's not luck, but about understanding the skills required and then being able to execute at the right time. Take you time with it, play something else then try again another day. You'll get it.
The helium makes most obstacles in this track a non issue. It was very quick to get gold now. Most of the time the BMX isn’t good on Infernos, but not this time.
I spent 5 hours of my Saturday raging at the mantis on Inferno V only to watch this for 30 seconds and get a platinum medal first go on the friggin pushbike.

Track completed in bronze, thanks professor
Update, days later i got gold on the track, got gold on the rest of the main game extremes and finished white belt
Thanks now my time went from 51 minutes to 26 minutes
Could you please do a video with slowmo like u did in the other extreme tutorials. This is way to fast to watch the details especially the controller inputs.
I just changed the speed of the video in top right corner, that helped me.
I'm excited for the ninja track tutorials. Good luck fatshady lol I finished the first two tracks but the third is impossible for me
You not doing the fender flip was a facepalm moment lol, when i saw you trying to do the bounce off the pipe i was like nooooooo use the fender pull downnnn lol
The throttle on the Helium in compare to Trials Fusions Rabbit is OP! Nice Video ;)
Thx for the great walktrough :)
I can't do the last obstacle still......
I can't get my bike to not flip out when tying to make the climb
Pls do a tutorial on the last checkpoint with the mantis
Hello fat shady I have completed his track for a second time and a second time it says connection lost , it's so annoying.
The lessons should allow you to select helium as well, in which way one can practice with bike of choice.
With the Helium it is almost easy. Thanks to this Video i finaly made it on the mantis 😅
Finally decided to play this game through and after 256 faults, I managed to finish Inferno V with a keyboard.
Went pretty fast from finishing Inferno to gold on all Extreme tracks. Never did this on earlier Trials games.
That's it. Can't get past Green Belt, platinum on all the other tracks, including DLCs.
Tutorial on the final skill game? Please!
lol it's seriously impossible to get off the Portabel at checkpoint 8 with the Mantis. amazing.
The throttle hill cilmbs with the hellium is disgusting lol
Is there a way to get a uni of trails jacket in game, I've A+ everything and thought that would do it
Yes, you unlock the UOT stickers and make one in the customisation menu.
There's contracts on those tutorials after you play through them once, I'm pretty sure the jacket is the reward from one of those contracts though I don't remember which. There's also UoT gloves, a helmet etc. that you can get so you can have a full set
I actually got Gold on every track 😃😃😃 Never thought that would happen in a million years! But now I've unlocked Ninja 😱
At 13:45 with the mantis You can just bunny hop from the tire to the 2nd plateforme ; it's much easier
Wow only watched the first 2 tips and the bike looked so easy so I switched to it. Beat it in 100 faults
CP 12 is kicking my buttttt. Get there with only like 5 faults, and now I am 90 faults...
When I got a gold medal on this and found out that it unlocked ninja tracks I stayed awake an extra hour playing...
Exactly what I did. My stream of that will go up in the next few days and you’ll see me thinking the same time.
Whait its just that track? I thought you had to get a gold medal on everything
@@misterfr3ezzgaming124 Gold medal on all the extremes, but if you can get gold on inferno you can get gold on the rest.
@@aaronhinzey2082 yeah ok thats what i thought at first thanks for clarifying
MisTeRFr3eZz Gaming it was the last extreme I played. I got a gold medal on my first run of each so it is probably all of them.
Whenever i skip your tutorials you get all passive aggressive
Literally my favourite part of the game, skipping the tutorial then getting A+ first try.
I feel like the helium actually ruins the track imo. There's no reason not to use it and it is so much easier. I like the track for the most part but feel like the helium run should be the harder of the two
Helium ruins every track it's possible on. The bike is just way too good at everything except speed.
The Helium is a ninja bike. It's going to put a whole new level on track central. Mantis is for speed running top times and multiplayer.
@@zk420zk lmao that's so not correct but alright. The helium is only good because it's a literal magnet. It's better on hard speedruna, extreme speedruna, and even some medium runs as well. The helium is a broken broken broken bike. Period. There's no objective argument to be made otherwise.
Mantis 4 Speed Helium 4 ninja xD lol - bullshit…..there is no comparison.Helium is imba !!!!!! u dont Need skill for the Helium!!!!!
Great video. Really helps. I would like to se an A+ run on the University of Trials "Time trials"
Any tips for the first obstacle? I've tried over 500 times on both bikes and only got through once. The rest of the level is hard but the first obstacle just makes no sense.
Left right left on the stick straight away, just to slam the back wheel down early on that second ramp.
It’s the only obstacle that’s easier on the mantis if you need to practice I’d recommend using mantis just for that obstacle until you can do it.
does he play with a normal controller?
what do you suggest for switch because we have button triggers and speed joysticks (aka we can drive slowly)
I am coming from Trials frontier so im used to buttons but do you have any suggestions?
I’m taking my switch away with me and I’ll try to unlock it so I can advise.
Thank god they added another inferno!
i can get through the start okay but the tires are just almost impossible if u fault
This is a great video
hey professor. you was telling me about downloading tracks from a friends house because I don't have access to more extreme tracks.
@@Nighthawk0416 then you're driving to fast. Go as slow as you can.
I’m glad the bike is easier for people like me who struggle at extreme level
get past part 5 of this for the first time ever and my game crashes nooooo, thanks for the great help though
I feel your pain. I get crashes every 20 minutes without fault. For me at least, it takes much longer than 20 minutes to do this course.
Can you do a inferno donkey tutorial
11:00 Well now I want to graduate!
Why even use the Mantis now that the Helium is discovered to be the best extreme bike or Ninjas that dont contain speed?
Speed running and multiplayer.
Thanks
Accelerate AND brake! Didn't think of that. That fuckin barrel section is whats keeping me from that platinum medal.
I finally just finished this and the servers went down. I managed to record the end for proof lol
The helium makes most obstacles in this track a non issue. It was very quick to get gold now. Most of the time the BMX isn’t good on Infernos, but not this time.
