Hey, thanks. I need to go back and film it again, but in both directions this time. It was so hot out during this hike, I was too exhausted to film the walk back. :) I'm glad you're still enjoying it though. Any other hikes you'd like to see?

We stayed in Posatano, and did some of this wonderful walk many moons age went we were backpacking Europe, this walk and some in the Lofoten Islands do stick in our mind even now more that 60 years ago....................Thanks so much for bringing back to our minds such happy and carefree times.
This is possibly the most breathtaking trail I have seen on UA-cam. Excellent video quality, natural sounds, no talking, and the closed caption is great for getting to know the places. I wish there are more videos like this :) Thank you!
Yeah...it always worry me a bit when I see young kids on this hike but I guess they do fine. There are definitely some parts where you really have to be careful and watch your step.
@@ProWalks Yes I did see some small children on your walk... which to me being a mum I personally wouldn't do take my kids. I would be freaking out every step they took and wouldn't enjoy the scenery. that's my opinion. Some parts where you walked was a bit sketchy! So beautiful though! 😁
lol..no, but I do need to go back and film it again...on a day that is not so hot. I was exhausted at the end of this hike...mainly because of the heat and I probably didn't eat that well before the hike.
I watched the entire video... and I have added this to the list of things to see in my life. I have never been to Europe but I cannot believe how beautiful landscape is!

Wow! Brings back memories of the beautiful Amalfi coast. Thanks so much for posting this, in these strange times, when travel is not possible, it is like taking a holiday just watching. In reality, my fear of hights would make this walk difficult. You made it possible. Thank you. X
What an amazing hike! Yesterday my treadmill was delivered and I was just thrilled that I made the whole walk with you today! Thank you for inspiring me to walk more.
Just watching this amazing hike! It must have been hard going in that heat but defintately worth it for the footage and fantastic views. Thank you stay safe and look forward to more in the future
Absolutely beautiful...and harrowing! I visited the Amalfi coast many years ago but no hiking. What a marvelous endeavor to share your adventures and relive my previous journeys through memories. I enjoy you channel greatly. Keep up the great work.
That was awesome! I pedalled all the way with you on my exercise bike in front of my monitor. I can't wait to see more of your inspiring videos and at this rate I'll be joining the Tour de France :)
Perhaps you could add, that you can also continue along the roadway which is not really that busy to Montepertuso and that you can also catch the SITA Bus down to Positano from either Nocelle or Montepertuso at certain times during the day. You would need to see the SITA Bus Schedule for that information. I think that you doing this walk is very important. For me it would have cleared up a lot of questions of what it was like, how dangerous or not it can be. Seeing it for real is helping one understand if they can complete it or not. Far better to figure that out from your couch at home then part way through the hike. I could have used this in 2018 before I did the hike. It would have answered a lot of questions I had at that time. I had to base my decision on what others had said about the Hike. Trying to make decisions from others points of view is difficult. Seeing it for real solves it completely. Stay safe and continue making these great videos. :-) They work both for pleasure to watch and for understanding the Hikes.
Hey, thanks for the tip Robert. I'll add that in the video. ....I didn't know of that fact. 😬 I should have gone to Montepertuso but I never have. Yeah, the first time I took the hike, I took the upper trail which went through the woods. I took the lower trail on the way back and realized I had missed all the best views by taking the upper trail. I'm glad you're enjoying the videos. I definitely need some more hikes on the channel.
The Amalfi region with the mountains rising up to 1350m looks very similar to the hiking trails that I have done in the Greek island of Evia along the mountains around Dirfi mountain (1800m), or in a wilder version of the trail of E4 in Crete 320km long along mountains rising 2500m straight out of the sea.
That looks like a very unforgiving hiking path. At both ends it seems like a deceptively gentle hike with safe handrails and convenient steps cut into the rock. However it soon changes to long stretches where if you make one mis-step or slip-up it's bye, bye!
I was suppose to go travel to there last month. Thanks for this beautiful video. Looking forward to hopefully going there next year! I love how it’s very quiet and not too many people :)
And you said you walked this MORE than once ? Wow - just watching this makes me feel exhausted ! I will not be watching this a second time ! But thanks for the video - a very harrowing experience !!!
Hey, glad you enjoyed it. Yeah, I've done the full hike 3 times and once with my kids, but we only went half way. It's nice when it is cool outside...too much when it's hot.
Thank you so much for this video as it brought back great memories! We walked this trail in 2013 with a guide. It was so great! We also were crazy enough to walk the stairs down at the end and walk into Positano where we met up with the rest of our group that took the bus down instead.
This is the first time I had seen that one middle-aged person with full of energy had overtaken you twice and even his lady had overtaken you once, one another moment I liked most when one couple as soon as entered the Positano the first thing first they did was to remove their backpack with the sigh of relief to take rest, another thing even kids are also participating in this hiking. Liked it Loved it and Enjoyed it during current Lockdown from India - Thanks for Sharing.
Wonderful effort. At the end as he entered the little square I was thinking- where are the lemons, will there be a limonade or limoncello? Then the sign ..”Lemon Point” and a stall for what must be much needed ice cold refreshments....:) I feel like I did the hike. Very nice viewing during this lockdown , thanks for putting it together!
Wonderful video. We will be traveling there in September 2023. Your videos have been extremely informative and helpful. Did you just walk to the trailhead from Amalfi? How do you suggest we get back to Amalfi, are there busses that run throughout the day? How many miles was the hike you did?
Hi Kim, I lived there and had a car so I just drove to the trail head and parked there. You can't walk there from Amalfi and I'm not aware of any single bus that can get you there. You might have to take a bus from Amalfi to San Michele and from San Michel to Bomerano, where the hike starts at Piazza Paolo Capasso. You can easily hike round trip and again take a couple buses from Bomerano back to Amalfi. Or, you can go one way on the hike, and take the steps all the way down to Positano and then take a bus, or boat, from Positano back to Amalfi. I recommend hiking round trip and taking a bus back to Amalfi. I don't know the bus schedule. The hike is about 6 miles round trip. I have an older video of the hike on my channel too. I walked one way in an hour and 7 minutes...without stopping to look around. Other people say it takes 2 and half hours one way....it doesn't. I don't recommend doing the hike in the scorching sun...but if you do, just bring plenty of water. Here is the walk from the piazza to the trail head: ua-cam.com/video/F6sizjLRqLY/v-deo.html and here is the first video I posted up hike: ua-cam.com/video/Ka0sobyX2nA/v-deo.html

Was there in 2012. absolutely breathtaking! Recommend people to hire a private tour guide. Or else you may get lost. Our guide also provided the best picnic lunch we have ever had in our life. She certainly knows where to source the freshest local ingredients. Also, at certain section, you are literally walking on a narrow plank along the cliff. be very careful!

Did this hike in on February 6, 2016 during a stay in Ravello. Had perfect weather that day - clear and in the mid to upper 60s. Absolutely beautiful. Took a local bus from Amalfi to the trailhead in Bomerano and ended in Nocelle above Positano then bus back to Ravello. Trail is clearly marked and very easy to follow. There were several families with younger children hiking that day. Would recommend anyone planning a stay along the Amalfi coast do this. You could even do this as a day trip from Sorrento.

About 11 minutes in, a landslide had occured and a log wall at bottom and a wire mesh fence above to catch larger rocks and boulders. Is the repair work funded and performed by locals or in part by the Public Works Dept? Thanks, and I just love your vids so much!
