Hi Rex, I just watched part one, now two. I love the style and I see that you have more videos...I will watch them as well. I adore your free style approach. I'll be anxious to try it. I find, I just can't relax while trying to WC. This will be enjoyable for me, thank you for sharing. I'm subscribed! Beautiful.
Thanks for the great comment Amie. I'm finding more and more that this experimental approach is an important part of every painting that I do. To me it's a lot about unleashing the power of water and water to a watercolourist is more important than water to an acrylic painter or oil mediums to an oil painter.
I agree! I started in oils and really am enjoying exploring WC. I noticed you were standing as well, I need to try that, I need room to feel free in my movements. Thx for your nice reply! Have a wonderful day.
I’ve just watched parts 1 and 2, so helpful thank you, and fun. I don’t see any recent comments etc so I do hope you are still painting and sharing your talent.
Hi Vivette: Thanks for your comment. Yes, I am still very active in my art. I haven't posted so much on UA-cam for a while but there is lots still going on.
Thank you for sharing a peek into your painting experiments. I feel your joy and excitement as you watch the dance of your pigment while creating! It's fabulous that you say "I love this water type stuff that's happening there...", paint to satisfy your soul.
Getting back into painting after too many years Trying to’loosen up’ and your demonstrations open up so many new possibilities! Thank you so very much!
I really enjoyed this lesson, I am brand new to watercolor,I have oil painted off and on for yrs so I have been watching as many lessons here as possible. I have to say this technique I am motivated to try, you have the best video I have watched. It was amazing to watch the beginning where the colors you spattered on made the trees all by them selves, that was my fav part.I'm afraid I'll waste a lot of paper at first but I adore the way watercolor looks.the sheerness of it is beautiful.thank you
Really enjoyed watching this - thank you! I've tried painting in an experimental way before and found difficulty in taking the pictures to a conclusion - you've really helped me see how it can be done
Hey, thanks for the comment. It's very rewarding to know that somebody is getting something out of these clips. I'm at the stage in my own painting where I want to step out a bit beyond my comfort level so I'm finding this more experimental approach very liberating.
HELLO REX, THIS IS THE FIRST OF YOUR WATERCOLORS I'VE SEEN AND IT'S GREAT! I'VE BEEN DOING WATERCOLORS FOR ABOUT THREE MONTHS NOW.I DID ALOT OF OILS IN THE PAST AND I'M HAVING TROUBLE GETTING LOOSE WITH THE WATERCOLOR. TOUR EXPERIMENTAL LANDSCAPE WILL SURE HELP. THANKS
Hey Dan, great to hear from you. It is very liberating to do things like this. I find that I also take some of the same feel/approach into most paintings. Helps to loosen me up.
@doveliz12 Thanks for the comment. It's very satisfying to know that something you do is helpful to others. Taking paintings to a conclusion is a challenge. I always think, "what do you do when you don't know what to do?" You do something and one thing leads to another. Good Luck.
@mordalorda4 Hey Thanks for the comments. I'm really pleased if it helped you. Way to go for your efforts to communicate in a language that is not your own.
Nice work, but seems a bit of a misnomer to class it as experimental, when truth be told the whole painting could be done with a number 10 round and a rigger.

Thanks so inspiring. I have been painting detailed botanicals for forty years and trying this technique will help me loosen up.
I'm glad that you found it useful.
Realmente hermosa la técnica que empleas. Maravillosa la pintura que lograste. Eres un gran artista. GRACIAS
I really love your art work. The loose look captures me. I really enjoyed your watercolor Bootcamp, hope you add more to it.

Glad to hear you liked it.
Like the nice loose approach. I've done that in the past. Need to get back to it.

Yes, my work is getting more free. Having some hand/joint issues so can't get too picky on control. Not best way to get there though.

Thanks for the comment Christine
hi. is that a river or lake?
It's actually a pond.
Nice work, but seems a bit of a misnomer to class it as experimental, when truth be told the whole painting could be done with a number 10 round and a rigger.
Not sure exactly what you're saying but experimental to me is a mind set in the way I approach the painting . . . but whatever word works is fine.
